Stirs emotions deeply !!
This is the first melodrama that i liked watching and dint get annoyed or bored at !I am so not into melodramas , and I started this one without knowing that its a melodrama ! That being said I found the basic story very week and unacceptable , as it has many main unanswered questions , but still somehow the twists-turns of events and unfolding of relationships is done so aptly that even though you know the truth it still stirs your emotions every time !!
Basic questions like why dint the brother want them together , is kept a secret til almost the end of the series , when you might think that he must have done something wrong to her ! But then in the end you realise that he got that burn trying to save her and the brother knows it and saw it , and still wishes to separate them ???? Why would he stab him , when he was just sorry towards him ??? He would give Yoori a chance to redeem herself , but just hate moo-yeong ?? Also few things from the first murder and seong-ahs accident aren't very clear .... I just waited till the end to thing to unfold , but few things were just left out .
It was a good watch , with little to no annoying characters , all felt right at their places except oppa :D !! Enjoy :)

the lead charecters seem unrealisticly obssessed with each other
I haven't finished the series so i don't know if things improve drastically in the later half of the series but up until i saw, the characters seem to live in their own bubble world, while stuff around them is falling apart. This is expected in a romance based light-hearted series, but the topics this show covers(abandonment, effects of crime, anti-social behavior), i expected an intense romance with at least a bit of realism. The characters just seemed unreasonable to me and weren't quiet in the moment. P.S: i absolutely fan-girl over booth Seo In Guk and Jung So Min, and hence found their acting phenomenal. Was this review helpful to you?
I don't know why, but I fell in love with this show right in the first 5min. I loved the idea of a guy who has always been cold due to an incident and just uses everyone developing into someone with feelings who has the desire to protect what he cares for. The story overall was beautiful as it was slow-paced but not slow enough where you would drop it as it provoked thought and you felt the emotion alongside the characters.
The cast was a good decision as Seo Kang Joon played the role perfectly as the anti-hero in the story as it is always nice to take a break from the nice heroic ML. Jung So Min also did good job alongside him as she played her role well but Seo Kang Joon still overall stood out to me even though the rest of the cast was good.
The music was a nice touch to it as it made you feel in the moment with perfect timing. The music was a positive aspect in the plot as I can't help but cry when I hear the music sometimes.
I rewatched this show twice and every time it was good still filling you with emotion and the story as you never get bored watching this show.
The ending of the show was beautiful in my opinion as I love the type of endings that are associated with these shows and this will always be one of my top shows.
Overall: 9.5/10

But I follow dramas of Seo In Guk and Jung So Min, and have been waiting for a good kdrama to be released. It was hard to resist watching this, although the plot seemed heavy and the Japanese version was quite popular as well.
The plot in itself is intriguing at best, and paired with fittingly cast actors, their expressions of mixed emotions that need to be delivered as per the storyline, kept me waiting for the episode each week!
I never watched mysteries that haven't released fully yet, (because, annoying right!), However its hard not to look forward to what happens each day in Jin Kang's (female lead) and Moo Young's ( male lead) lives.
You end up getting so hooked to their lives and roles, you end up wondering what Moo Young's pace is, why he does what he does. It keeps you guessing and the chemistry between the two is unmistakably electric. But it's kindof push/pull and makes you want to punch the rest that comes in their ways, but what stands between the two is more than just people ; it's unforgotten lives and a misguided fate. Paths of some shouldnot have crossed; unfortunately cursed destinies.

Awakening to love
This guy was safe before he had any emotions. The way to love is the way to sacrifice. It's like love and death are inextricably connected.I didn't like the styling at all. Hair and clothes of all the actors were horrible! Beyond dated! As if they were in the 80s.
I started watching the Japanese original and I got hooked! I prefer it in many respects.

The more I watched the show, the more emotional I became and the ending broke me.
The Smile Has Left Your Eyes is one of the few shows where I couldn't predicate what was going to happen. Usually it's pretty easy to know what's going to happen next but this show did a great job keeping me on my toes.
The cast was amazing! They have to show so much emotion and they all did a great job in doing so. Seo In Guk was something else. He was emotionless yet gentle and Jung So Min complimented him perfectly with being emotional but strong.
The ending was so upsetting to me and probably many others but it was very fitting to the story.
I think everything happened as it should have. It was very well written and overall I'm very happy with The Smile Has Left Your Eyes.

Well, this drama have some positive and some negative things. The story is very addictive and you find yourself increasingly anxious to know what happened in the past of the main characters. Seo In Guk's acting is so good, he was certainly the best thing in this drama. But unfortunately there are some disappointing things, at least for me. The last episodes was really.. nosense? When they explained the main characters past I thought that was a very random explanation. It seemed a lit bit forced.Jin Kang is a very annoying character. I couldn't shipp her and Moo Young because they sound so forced. Out of nowhere she starts liking him, even when SHE KNEW IT that he was bad to his girlfriend (that was actually Jin Kang's very close friend). Moo Young is actually a bad person but she was always protecting him and defending him. I know, sometimes he deserved it but most of the time, no. And oh my god, when she breaks up with him... what a drama. She kept saying she couldn't live without him when in fact, she could. Why wouldn't she live? She have a "brother", friends, people who really cares about her. Moo Young on the other hand, doesn't have anyone, so it makes much more sense for him to say that he didn't want to live. So yeah, I didn't like this couple at all.
Jin Kang's brother was very annoying too. All the time he was blaming Moo Young and calling him a monster, a murderer, when in fact he isn't a good person either. He hid Jin Kang's past and ignored all the bad things that this secret could cause. I hated him so much ugh.
Seriously, Moo Young was the best character. He's actually a bad person but I found him interesting. And sometimes I understood him. I liked how intelligent he was, well, at least in the beggining. He's going to trust a woman that HE KNOWS that isn't trustful and he knows she's a bad person too. And all this trust, fucks him later. As a character who was so smart and who calculated all his steps all the time, why he was so stupid? Didn't make any sense for me.
That's it. I liked the mystery in this drama but for me Moo Young was the best thing. But well, if you like a suspense and a mystery drama, this may please you because it really makes you think in a lot of theories. And who knows, you might even like the main couple.

Incredible. So many unexpected plot twists, kept me guessing the entire time.
I've been wanting to watch this drama for years. I love both actors and have watched them in separate dramas and couldn't wait to see what they would be like together. This drama kept me guessing the entire time. So many plot twists, I can't count how many times I let out an audible gasp. Great chemistry between the actors, really interesting story line. Some parts of the drama were a little questionable, like her friend died and she was sad and then we never heard of that friend again. And her brother stabbed her boyfriend and she didn't seem all that upset about it. But it was more focused on her story and his story so I can let those things pass. The ending was absolutely tragic. I don't know that I've ever sobbed so hard watching any drama, besides Hwarang. It was heartbreaking, bittersweet. But absolutely beautiful. I couldn't sleep because I just kept thinking about it. The writers really knew what they were doing with this drama. I'm beyond impressed. Was this review helpful to you?

Somehow made me love Seo In Guk even more
I’ve always loved Seo In Guk—Reply 1997 was one of the first Asian dramas I ever watched as a kid—-but this role is something else, seriously. His portrayal of a fundamentally damaged, terrifyingly cold man, who’s desperately seeking meaning in a world he doesn’t understand, was SO moving. So, I cried my eyes out, will be needing about 50 hours of fluff dramas after completing this one.
TROPES (spoilers)
- anti-hero ML, cold man/warm woman
- murder mystery and some procedural vibes
- ML falls first and chases first
- affectionate lead couple
- fateful past connection
- amnesia from childhood trauma
- found family

1) 10/10
2) 슬프면. 너무 슬프면. ??
3) Its unique plot and cinematography got that vibe in me and it entirely left a whole different hole in my soul. This is traumatic.
4) It's the first KDrama to ever come at par with Love Rain for me.
5) 소민 did well on this more than ever from her past KDramas.
6) 무영와 진강. 여웒이.
