This might be my favorite Japanese Movie thus far. Definitely in my top 3. The acting is very well done, but the thing I liked best was the "realness" of the story. That's not to say that I would expect to see all the situations happening in real life, but that within the confines of the drama, nothing seemed forced or out of place.

The story is sweet, but not so much that you feel like you've gotten a cavity. The "bad guy" is horrible, but he's not so prominent in the story that you hate seeing him on screen. It's really one of the few shows (dramas or movies) where I wasn't tempted to fast forward through every part with the villain. The reason for that I think was that his time was limited, but important, so you felt like you needed to see that part of the show. Most of the conflicts are just "life" type things that people generally have to figure out and I LOVED that aspect of the movie.

It's a school movie and they do a good job of making it seem like the characters are students instead of some story lines where it feels like "adult" situations but the "adults" are actually students (like a teen who is supporting their family, or the teenager is basically fending for themselves). The main characters both had adult family members who were parenting well, so the teens got to be just that...teens.

I loved this show and I'm sure I will be watching it again in the future.

Not something special.

The fact I'm watched this movie without any expectation is turned out well cause there is nothing so special and admirable in it, it's 'typical' cliche Bad boy and Good girl love story which usually turned as always that the boy wasn't bad always and don't forgot there is also past connection here so these cliches made me cringe.

How can you think of your uncle with romantic feelings that was really disgusting part of the story, I also don't get the reason of uncle was against there relationship. The story wasn't well written, execution could have been much better, I didn't liked the acting that much.

Overall the movie was quite a mess, it's okay to watch if you have too much free time or if you are big fan of leads, but I won't recommend it..

I went into this only for King & Prince's Hirano Sho, but came out thoroughly pleased with how it was executed. There were parts of it that follow the standard shoujo format, and parts of it that I think could have been avoided overall or amended (the unnecessary subplot of the female lead being 'in love' with her uncle, for example) but it did surprise me. The male lead's character is honest and true with his feelings, and though there's conflict, the tone of the movie is quite uplifting. For all that it lacks, Honey makes up for in it's heart. I think I'll definitely give it another watch sometime.

Music gets a 6.0 because most of the music was slightly unexpected English songs, but it doesn't really take away from the movie.

Even small gestures of kindness can help someone who needs help or is having a rough day.
This was a really really sweet movie and was captured beautifully ! The female lead didn't react way over the top or tried to act too cute that you'll get tired of her. Everything was balanced. The male lead has such a sweet voice just like the movie name. His voice was really gentle. He was really helpful too unlike his rumored delinquent nature. Two teenagers fell in love but not too fast or too slow. It was the right pace. The side characters turned out really well too. Their stories were captured well too. The acting was really good. No over acting at all.
It did handle some real life situations which may happen with anyone but also showed a positive side to those.
"In really painful times if there's nobody by your side then you're going to fall apart" ; As said in this movie, we must really let people who care for us stay by our side and be together with us instead of having a strong facade and breaking inside.
The music even though in English was good.
I'm going to re-watch this as many times as possible and still not get tired to watch it.
P.S. DO WATCH THE POST CREDITS SCENE.

This is one of my new favorite Japanese movies. The plot was good, but the plot points weren't the greatest. I didn't like how they didn't show much of the side characters, which I really liked. I loved the male lead more than anything in the movie. He is a sweetheart and is the kindest, most gorgeous man that doesn't exist in real life. (sadly) A lot of the times, the female leads in these kinds of movies are unlikable, but I actually liked her for once. This was a really cute, innocent, and sincere type youth drama. I would really like to watch it again.

I decided to watch this movie after deciding to ditch my school works and just chill.

It was a lighthearted movie, perfect for those who just want to sit back and kill some time. I loved how the main characters started off as friends and were able to get to know each other before getting into a romantic relationship. Their friendship became the foundation of their bond and I just personally appreciate stories like that. The lead characters are very charming because of the pure intentions that they managed to express throughout the movie. They were so carefree and cute! The actors were okay and did a good job on their roles, I believe. There was no any major drama or obstacle, so you wouldn't be stressed out or frustrated while watching it! I think it's something you can watch as you eat a bucket of ice cream in your pajamas!

STORY:
I watched this movie following Sho Hirano's works and since I just finished a long drama I wanted something short and sweet, as sweet as Honey it is. But I think this the movie should actually be develop to a drama that can dig out the past of Onise, Kogure, Misaki, and Yashiro. Also adding friendship development process between those four characters, more jealousy scenes and action spices. Moreover, the drama can develop 9 years of relationship from the first they started dating until they got married.

ACTING/CAST:
Sho Hirano and and Yuna Taira's great acting brought the main characters alive with Onise' red unruly hair and Kogure's short curly hair plus cute sparking chemistry. Supporting actor Yu Takahashi as Kogure's uncle is great as well.

REWATCH VALUE:
Therefore this is a movie that can be re-watch if you have a short time of sweet tooth crave.

OVERALL:
The movie came out of manga that readers reviewed as short and sweet but nothing out of ordinary. Although the manga can be potentially developed to a drama with many aspects of life full roller coaster ride scenes, but the beauty of this movie is the simplicity of youth romance that can be easily forgotten but then re-watch again in the future

Should be called Umbrella!

This movie starts off with a beautiful fight scene followed by the female lead covering the male lead with a red umbrella and giving him a honey drink. This, was a pretty great umbrella scene and I dare say that the umbrella made way more impact than that honey drink therefore I declare this should be called Umbrella and not Honey!

Other than that is pretty cliche but they are sweet lovable cliches and you know what even though the Male lead is not always true to his understanding of consent he is actually not the least bit in need of a lesson about consent because this guy actually gets this more than any guy I remember seeing on screen to this day! So kudos!

There are some parts in this movie that do feel a bit different and they do touch on men's violence against women with some not greatly done scenes but one heck of a dialog:

Girl: Am I the only girl you hit?
Guy: Of Course you are my number one gal, and the only one I hit !
(maybe not those exact words but... )

Can you just feel the romance! I definitely can...

Jokes aside, that is actually reality for many women and it is NOT their fault and it is complicated, however I did like that the writers included this in the movie.

The male lead and the friendships hera are really good, the female lead has her good parts and bad parts but I am not really convinced by her acting skills at time (sometimes they are good so it could be the directing.

There is also one part that just seems odd and unnecessary, about an uncle.

Definitely fun to watch and entertaining but maybe not a masterpiece...

Honey is a classic school life manga based film. You get the innicent girl, the missunderstood boy, and their love story as they are struggling to be together. This one adds more to it, with the girl being in love with the man who raised her after her parents died. Plus, we get the local gang who are trying to hurt the lead and in order to get to him, they use his friends and our girl.
So, overall, if you like shoujo adaptions than you are going to like this one, as it was well made and the performances were really good. Also, the couple had chemistry.

nice and fluffy

*FIRST SENTENCE IS A SOMEWHAT SPOILER*

Putting aside the very creepy "I'm in love with my blood uncle" thing this movie wasn't too bad and was actually cute and enjoyable. I don't find Japanese humor to be my cup of tea especially in romance manga remakes but the very brief comedy at the beginning actually made me giggle a little so I'll give this movie extra points for that. The story was typical but well executed by the cast and director and may be one of my top favorite live-action remakes. Haven't read the manga so can't say how similar it is to it but the movie is enjoyable enough where it doesn't matter if the story is the same as the manga.

Nice movie , it is a sweet and short love story ... A boy who felt solitude all the time ,he felt nobody is on his side ,everybody just want to run from his side .....After his father's death ,he live all alone with his mother but one day he found her mother with another guy ,he hated it ,he thought one day she also left her ,he assumed so much thing ..As a result he become aggressive ,to much involved in a fight .Always mad a bad image in front of other.
On the other side girl also faced a tragedy in her childhood because of that she become silent always developed negative thought ,hardly talk with anybody ...And when these stories meet they changed both of them a lot.....
Two dialogues of the movie I liked a lot
1.will you be my girlfriend with the intention of marry me in the future.
2.I always protect those who are important to me ,I never ever leave their hand....
