It, once again, proves China's knack on normalizing weird plots. They don't deal much on explaining how or why things happen; instead, they give you a good story after the "what if". They throw subtle twists and blow your mind with their classic sad endings. But, what I love about this movie is how it reminded me that sad endings aren't always bad... in fact, this one's made me smile.

Now this is what I call a highly watchable movie, with a beautifully crafted plot and a commendable cast. True, the ending could have been different (in other words better) with the two leads living happily after, but that was what everyone was hoping for anyway, but the scriptwriter/director had preferred to deliver something more melancholic, less predictable. Still, we are shown that the younger man was happy, as was the older man, although they 'lost' each other as lovers. It would have been nice if they had used Carlson Cheng's "Love is shaking in the world" in the end scene :)

Bittersweet

I watched this movie a few days ago and I let the impressions settle in. I enjoyed the story, because it is really original one. I kinda felt sad watching it. The whole story missed some intimacy and I wanted more. But this didn't ruin the movie for me. Lately I felt that growing older triggers me, so this might be the reason I felt the sadness while watching it. I am highly recommending this movie, specially for older audience. It might speaks to us more. If I could review this movie with one sentence, it would be - bittersweet love story, family story and the story about the effect of making wrong and right choices. It is life story with a Sci-Fi twist. Could be longer and could be more detailed, but overall not bad at all.

Donc, on sait!

Autre point positif: l'humour...
