That’s my first review , I hope you find it helpful. I tried my best. The drama is so good .
Kim Joo Hyuk‘s character (kim beak jin ) was an anchor who only tells the truth and because of that they changed his position form nine news to midnight news . Argon team is the most heated team in the news station . They asked for some new staff so they brought them Chun Woo Hee’s character(lee yeon hwa). She only had three months left for her contract to end and she wasn’t qualified .The team was so upset and gave her a hard time at first. Her dream was to write her first report.
The first episode was how to make Pinocchio drama in one episode :D .
A Building was collapsed so to covered it up they made another news about a worker run away from the scene . The other news channel and 9 news in the same channel left the collapsed building news and only focused on the running away man.
Arogan team didn’t do that . They continue the investigation and found out the truth . The truth was related to some politicians and businessmen so the news station tried to make the team stop . Lee yeon hwa found out a new lead and told kim beak jin . He gave her first assignment to find out more info and keep it for the others . She started to become more confident and working so hard to make her dream true. (That’s the main topic). There are other news and you will find out more about the characters in each episode . The drama is so interesting . I love The teamwork here . I wanted more episodes . :((
This drama makes me sad thinking about kim Joo Hyuk . It was his last drama :( . He made his best till the end . RIP :(
I hope you found my review helpful cause it’s been a while since I saw it .
If you have any problems with this review tell me .
I hope you have a nice time watching it .

Extremely Underrated
One of the most extremely underrated dramas I've watched. Argon is near to pure perfection. The story considering it's episode size was intensely gripping and emotional, so easy to watch and follow yet still the plot has a lot of substance with it, the chemistry between the cast being phenomenal, and an OST that was unbelievably catchy that I just want to listen to the OST forever and ever, replay it in my mind over and over!I wasn't expecting much with Argon but now I can say it's one of my favourites. I can't believe hardly anyone has watched this drama! This makes me upset for two reasons! 1) This drama is simply so amazing it deserves the recognition, and 2) There probably will never be a second season :(
ARGON. AMAZING.

Argon is one of the most underrated kdrama
I never had much expectations of Argon when I started watching it. But after binge watching the drama in a single sitting I must say that Argon is probably one of the most underrated kdrama I have ever seen.I have seen many kdramas that involved News Media. But Argon is by far the only kdrama that actually goes into the depth of what unfolds behind the scenes of a news broadcast. Other dramas like Falsify or Big Issue involved some personal vengeance or profit when showing the news media. Argon on the other hand shows the difficulty, a team faces when they go against the authority to broadcast a news. How they are forced to burry some stories. And how some people distort the truth for there person benefits.
There are many dramas where all the focus is only on the ML(Male Lead). But Argon is a team show not a one man show. By the end of the show all of the Argon members came together for a cause. Even though the ML was the center of the focus but the other members were also very helpful.
The writers did a great job here. The story improves each episode. You never get bored of the story. The story was so good that 8 episodes felt quite a short time. Maybe they should have made a longer kdrama. But all is good at the end. The drama is filled with strong actors who lived up to their expectations. Kim Joo Hyuk, Chun Woo Hee and Park Won Sang did a great job. And a special shutout to Jo Hyun Chul for his comic character.
So what are you on waiting for. Start watching this amazing show as soon as possible. As I assure you won't be wasting your time.

Little romance, emphasis on objectivity in journalism, morally grey characters
If The Newsroom was a kdrama, it'd be Argon! I absolutely loved how the drama delved into the fine line that journalists often wrestle with. There isn't any emphasis on romance so if you're looking for that, I would look elsewhere. If you're looking for solid gray characters trying to be journalists in a society that is eager to tear them down, I definitely recommend giving this drama a shot! The only reason I didn't give it a ten was because episode 4 was weak writing-wise that it literally made me facepalm but the rest are pretty solid imo.Was this review helpful to you?
I gave it a chance since it was released during the initial time period when big Korean networks were releasing new stuff on Netflix.
I was yearning for more at the end. :( It was excellent. There's no romance, especially between the two leads, which I was, and am, happy about. I honestly think the main lady could have had a dash of romance in the story. :) :) . This is coming from someone who doesn't regard romance as a must in tv watching.

Corruption & politics & business & Don Quichottes
Every single korean drama dealing with business or politics is also always about the corruption. There seems to be no honest businessmen or politicians in Korea or if there are any they are quickly threatened or killed in order to shut them up. The rich and powerful always get away with everything, usually putting blame on "little" people, those who are not rich or have the power to rule.I guess I have seen one drama too many having this plotline and I cannot stand it any more. Is Korea really such a corrupt country where the powerful can get away with anything? And they mostly do even when they are caught, the punishment somehow does not seem to equal all the bad deeds they commited!
Argon is that drama too many! It is a good drama at its bases but this plot is so repetitive. Usually it is a super honest policeman but, in this case, it is a super honest journalist who stumbles upon a huge cover up involving his own company CEO.
The beginning of this drama reminded me a lot of Newsroom, a US show about workings behind the screen of a late night news show. But once they delved into the highly predictable territory of rotten chaebols and politicians, I lost interest really quickly. I finished it since it was only 8 episodes long. And that was a good and a bad thing at the same time. On the good side the drama was finished quickly and I could let a sigh of relief when all the corruption plot left my screen. On the downside, I was not happy with the episode count because the drama had an amazing cast of characters which were not sufficiently explored. Apart from the main character, the Argon anchor, everyone else was left behind very quickly and was eventually used as aprop for the ML's redemption arc.
For example, there was the rookie journalist, a mercenary who was hated when she arrived but managed to keep her cool and prove herself. Another one was a journalist who ruined the show because he hero worshipped the anchor. There was also the slimy rival anchor who was more worried about ratings than reporting the facts and corrupt to the bone. There was also another journalist with interesting family only slightly hinted at but never really talked about. And so on and so on...
I really hope that Korea is not the country represented in these dramas: highly corrupted and easily corruptible individuals who rule over it and its economy together with the millions of hate filled envious and anonymous netizens who spew their frustration at the slightest misstep and arte used as a guideline. This is the real horror. Zombies and monsters are CareBears in comparison!

An Underrated Germ
A good short drama that keeps you on your toes. Each episode is crafted well and each character has their moment to shine. Makes you keep your faith towards truthful journalism.I chanced upon this drama after watching Sunny. I was searching for another Chun Woo Hee masterpiece to watch. Her acting here is impeccable. As Yeon- Hwa, she perfectly captures the nuances of being the"rookie" in the Argon team. Even when people doubted her, she was relentless in her pursuit for the truth.

Shame
Thought this would be a gripping drama but sadly it felt disconnected. Surprising since there were only 8 eposodes so why so many storylines .The main story of the mall collapse featured at the beginning and end and we had other stories that just didnt carry much weight. All the characters lacked backstory, seemed to exist in isolation and acted coldly to others so many times that when they came together as a group it felt false .The premise an award wining show and anchor should be relegated due to family relationship over the story they exposed was weak.
I loved the main actor for his acting and was upset to learn midway through he died which meant continuing watching it was hard. I did find it hard to empathise with him as his character however and for this I blame the writers. He berated his team alot and although he did guide them at times he didnt do much investigative work himself and Mr Shin seemed to have more of an impact on the teams success.
Overall i just didnt feel much empathy for any of the characters who often put the news before their own family, friends and informers. The whole issue over mr shin was overly dramatic and unbelievable.
The bullying of rookies was uncomfortable viewing and again with the writer case unbelievable - why hire her then use her as a babysitter? Just too many ridiculous occurances in this drama.
So overall I cant recommend youvto watch.
