This is for people who are complaining about the the game revolving in APM. I have seen many comment on how this is not Starcraft or other RTS games where APM really matters. From my understanding of how the game "GLORY" being played is that it is like Overwatch combined with MMORPG. With this you need a high APM to produce the necessary combos with skills. My rough estimate of the number of skills is more than 20. When producing skill combos you only have a split second to input the next skill for it to connect. They can also block in the game and in a fast 1st person game blocking is really hard. Combining all these we can say that the player in "GLORY" needs to Attack, Block, Parry, Activate skill, Time the skill input to start a combo, aim where to throw the skills and skill cancel to produce feints (there are thing that i forgot to enter here), All in all that is why APM is needed.

I like how they deviate to the novel but still make it work. All the minor things that they change are acceptable and within reason. I really like to commend the time they put to make the game character look like the player.

Having a bad day? The King's Avatar will turn it around.

The King's Avatar was my favourite drama of 2019.

Let me start this off by saying I'm not much of a review writer. If you scan through my watchlist, you'll also see that I am a sucker for romance. They're my guilty pleasure. I also have to state that I went into this without having read or watched the anime - so the plot was new to me.

No, The King's Avatar does not focus on romance.
No, it is not like Love O2O.
No it is not like Go Go Squid (disclaimer: I'm still currently watching the latter).

Yet despite all this I fell in love with this show, literally counting down the days until the weekend when I could binge watch the next 6 episodes.
I picked this show up because Yangyang. I followed it to the end because of the gorgeous graphics, the captivating gaming scenes, and the heartwarming plot.
This show was about friendship. It was about teamwork. It was about supporting and caring for the people around us.
It was about facing challenges and following your dreams.

Honestly, I would recommend this show to anyone who wants to come away from a drama feeling uplifted and happy. With Ye Xiu by your side, you get the sense that any challenge, no matter how difficult, will be solved. This drama never leaves you feeling lost or alone. You want to be friends with the characters and be part of their team.
If you're having a bad day, The King's Avatar is the show to push those worries aside and get lost in another's world.

Happy watching! <3

Plot (9/10): I think this is the first part of the whole story. There will be season 2 which may have more twisted and great plots. For season 1, from the beginning to the end, there is no boring time watching the drama. The plot follows the simple typical history of a young man "Yie Xie" who masters in e-sports gaming. During the journey, drama reveals that he tries his best to solve the difficulties to form the "Happy" team.
Relationship (8/10): the drama is about "Gaming". It does not contain elements of male and female romance, but maybe the plot of romance will be developed between the main male lead and three female leads in season -2. Their relationships are funny, entertaining and interesting for me. The friendly relations between the members of the team of "Happy" is great but not needed to epic> I think this is because of too many characters are introduced in a short period of drama.
CGI (10/10): the CGI effects of drama is very remarkable. Compared to "Love O2O", their graphics may be high budget and more using 3D rendering software. Their quality can be compared to western digitals. take a milestone in Chinese drama land. So, I enjoy watching the drama in 1080 dpi at the official "wetv" app.
Music (9/10): the OST music of drama supports drama very much. I like "《全职高手 The King's Avatar》R1SE献唱电视剧《全职高手》片尾曲《荣耀的战场》MV首发 OST" and listened many times. Also, the background music of drama is very realistic and exciting for me.
Acting (9/10): the actors and actresses act in two worlds, the outside realistic world, and the game world. In both worlds, they act their best. The most remarkable character is the male lead "Yang Yang" and his game character. Sometimes, the characters in the drama aren't well not enough to satisfy you. This may be due to over 10 main characters are introduced into drama with their own history. But it is not great destruction points in the drama.
Overall (10/10): the drama is a great drama of 2019. If you finished the drama, you can watch other gaming e-sports drama of 2019: " Go Go Squid". I also highly recommended to watch the drama in Full-HD. Thank you for reading my review.

Hi All!

The King's Avatar was inspired surely by the novel with the same name yet gives of its very own vibe that can easily connect with the people nowadays. A lot would criticize primarily the in-game fight scenes as when compared to the donghua it clearly stripped a lot of the scenes yet it doesn't mean it ended up becoming mediocre. What the production team intended for the fight scenes, which is a form of in-game action that is can easily be referenced with games released and being played upon. Yet the very foundation of the game is the APM(Actions per minute) was still its core. Gamer's would be able to relate especially a similar concept is the Battle Mode in Ragnarok Online or Dota 2. If there someone who can relate to this, would be truly amaze on how key combinations to release a combo move. Yet there may be inconsistencies yet there is no such thing as a perfect show if so then there wouldn't be any show to be produce then.

Going back, now the characters they took note of behaviour of the characters from the donghua and novel and made it fitting on how they want live action to go which I definitely appreciated and had amaze/fun of their acting. Kudos to Huang Shao Tian! Truly an exact rendition of the character haha it made me cringe and laugh!

Now for the story, they still followed the flow but made a lot of cuts to get more story squeeze on this season but it didn't decrease the value of the show unless you made basis to the donghua and novel which follows a different metric. To the very story itself it made it fit on the setting it was based, and made it more or less feel it as how Chinese eSports industry is being treated which I was glad and was able to appreciate another side of Chinese culture.

All in all, watch this without comparing it to the donghua or novel. Watch it as itself and surely you'll learn to enjoy and even grow with the characters.

"This is not a solo competition but a Team Competition. When someone fails, not only one bears the failure but everyone has to share it."

i am not familiar in all the cast but at the end its make me realize how nice cast they are in this drama, the edit of story line vs. the novel was not bad in my own opinion, the lightning effect venue the arena the OST, the name of teams the opponents the Characters was so nice, the story line was highly focus on gaming, but its so interesting even you are not a fan of gaming like me but its make you realize how nice it was , all characters are unique , the production team need to be highly praised, the friendship with support courage respect concern and love to each other was so admirable and funny and also YANG YANG did so great her also he is so amazing in this drama he is great the story was great i am sure you will like this awesome drama.

As someone that have finished the novel, throughout watching the drama. There was some changes in the plot which is rather nice to see since it can be seen as a way to hype thing to give somewhat a more realistic feel of the novel. The reason why I rate the acting/cast 8/10 is mostly because of a drastic changes of 2 characters and a few other characters. The 2 characters with the drastic changes in the drama without the doubt is Chen Guo and Bao Zi as Bao Zi isn't really a type of person that actually think before doing thing or capable of thinking alot of difficult which make it abit weird for me to see him as Bao Zi. As for Chen Guo, in novel she isn't really exactly the type that is really thoughtful or likable character since in novel, she usually justified all her wrong doings as Ye Xiu's fault and she's quite a really insensitive person as well with a judgemental view of other at times unlike in drama where she portray a person is really thoughtful and all. Overall I have to say that it was a quite nice to see the drama ver of this novel since it was one of my all time favorite.

*WATCH THIS DRAMA, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!*

I usually don't review TV shows but this is not the usual show that I'd watch. There is so much to like about the plot and character development. Absolutely loved each and every character and their respective actors. Everyone slayed their characters; the caste is so good !! I have not read the novel so i cannot cmpare the two but i can surely say that this drama is worth a watch. There are a lot of lessons in this drama; some are outrightly stated (dialogues) while others are hidden; portrayed in a rather easy way to figure out. Not a typical chinese drama either; yes the annoying opposition is there but it's a part of the story. *no spoilers so won't say further*. The team work, passion, determination, healthy competition and environment; hat a complete show.

There's just something in dramas about video games that I tend to enjoy. The focus is about Ye Xiu and his life revolving around the game Glory. From his fall of being kicked off the team he created to the rise of his new team and it's members who were given a chance for glory. We see some successes but a lot of hardships Ye Xiu endured from his teenage years and failures from the team because of them being considered as rookie. While Ye Xiu does take the spotlight, I do appreciate the backstory to the rest of the team members. This gave me an insight of the significance of these characters. This is great because they are the valuable asset to the team.

Chen Guo's character was a bit annoying for me in the beginning. I'm not sure if it's because the way the actress portrayed her or if it's her lines, but I didn't like her very much. She's kinda the reason I had to put this drama on hold for awhile. But I'm glad I came back to it because the rest of the cast was very good in my opinion. Each of the team had an interesting personality I enjoy seeing. Chen Guo does get better after Ep 14 so you can see why I may have stalled on this drama for awhile.

And no there's no romance but honestly I'm glad. It's not needed. From this drama itself, you see the importance of Ye Xiu. He makes an impact on everybody and have some sort of bond with each character, even the rival teams. This was awesome to see. It's a pretty good drama. Give it a go. Heck, I probably will rewatch it again right before The King's Avatar 2 comes out just because I like it so much, though I would probably skip some episodes since I know what happens.

Honestly I am not that into cdramas. but I started it years ago with yang yang's love o20. I haven't watched any cdrama since then. And now another yang yang's drama is getting me hooked into cdramas. I am not really a gamer but I enjoyed watching it. The first reason why I watch it was because of yang yang but once i started the first episode, I couldn't stop watching it. Everything was top notch the actors, the flow of the story, cinematography special effects and even the ost's which made me cry at some point.
I love how to story isn't so much focused on romance but more so on valuing ones' principles, dreams and ideals. I don't have any other reference of the story since i haven't watched or read versions but The King's Avatar is so damn good. I can't wait for s2 already.

Best of YangYang! The casting was the best and how each character has evolved and became a better version of themselves. It gave me chills and almost out of breath because of the thrilling competitions. I always wish that their team would win all competitions so it would live up to the image of their captain- the Master. But losing some made the drama more interesting. I don't know if it's just me, but I love the sound of the keyboards during their matches. I can listen to it all day :D :D

Takes on a voyage to game world

• It's my first ever review because this drama deserves big applause in terms of everything. I binge-watched this drama for three sleepless nights because I knew, I can't sleep until its finished. This is a perfect drama for all age groups. You can feel the intensity from the first episode.
•I started watching it because of its graphic content but fell in love with the story, cast, and music. This show has outstanding graphic content. Gaming sections feel that I am inside the game which gives goosebumps, chills, and excitement.
•The story is just WOW, as you have read the plot, based on ye Xiu regaining his success and starting from the beginning is truly inspiring. Every episode end puts you on the edge and wants you to watch the next episode immediately.
•About the cast of course YangYang as Ye Xiu is the best choice, as an ace player acts very impressively. Watched his love o2o but this one made me a fan of him. I can't imagine anybody would pull off this role better than him. All the other cast has also done a very good job.
My personal favorite would be Maggie Jiang playing Chen Guo. the internet cafe owner character, many find her character a bit over but I liked it cause she felt like very strong support for the Team. Many could not take the pressure but she was good and eased her character perfectly.
•OST is amazing especially "light from the dust", which is played during the game, it makes you go on another level when it starts playing. It makes you feel hallucinate.
• It's a perfect binge watch for the weekend and definitely a 10/10 rewatch. If you are looking for a good Chinese drama it's this THE KINGS AVATAR.

Yang Yang kept me watching this show lol TBH is this the best gaming drama? heck no. Its predictable as soon as you know someone's stories you know what the issue will be and you just wait to see how many episodes until they bring it up. But the actors do a really good job and no one is "evil" just like in real life. Each role has growth in it and you laugh and cry with them. Just so everyone knows- Yes I feel like they set it up for romance and maybe in season 2 we will see more of that.
Recommend if you want a Teams can win anything even if they lose drama/ best friends show.
