Hadaka no Taisho Horoki (1980)

At the age of 12, Yamashita was taken into a protective institution for intellectually handicapped people. He learned Harie there, and his unique talent came out. In a few years, he had improved his skills enough to be admired by the top-class artists. As he became famous, he got out of the institution and started wandering all over Japan wearing only a sleeveless undershirt. Wherever he went, Yamashita left a lot of wonderful work. This series describes some interesting episodes in each place he goes, his likeable personality, and heartwarming encounter with local people through his diary and Harie. ~~ This drama is based on a true story of Yamashita Kiyoshi, a genius artist who died in 1971 at the age of 49.
