Sato Tomoko leads an ordinary life as a 40-year-old wife and mother with a part-time hourly job to supplement the household income. One day, she defies an unfair rule at her customer service job because she wants to help the customer, and is fired on the same day her husband loses his job. Tomoko is a high school dropout due to her family background, and has no certifications. How is she to get a secure job that pays enough to provide decent meals for Shun, her 5-year-old son? After her husband mentions find the high salary of city council members, Tomoko researches it on the Internet and learns that winning a seat on the council has a higher probability than getting a secure salary job. Inspired by the desire to earn a good salary, Tomoko decides and convinces her husband to withdraw their savings so she can run in the current election. While her rivals are endorsed by current politicians or come from families with elite backgrounds, Tomoko isn't intimidated for long, and decides she can be a voice for struggling working class families and fight the status quo that makes it difficult for Japanese women to work after becoming mothers. Todo Makoto, who comes from a long line of politicians and is also running for a seat on the council, hears her speech and is impressed. So is Hirata Kazumi, a former star political journalist at a newspaper whose daughter attends the same nursery school as Shun, is inspired by her energy and ability to unify people, and becomes her campaign manager. Feel good drama - love the mother - women angle.

Hooked from the first episode. Politics as I would like to see it.
Too often politics at any level is about what the political machine wants rather than the people.
This show reminds us of that fact and what would happen if our needs were considered.
Love the mother - women angle, how the mothers of future leaders were not always considered even though their roles were so important. If they were happy and fulfilled, the family would have a better chance of being stable.
Enjoyed the acting very much.
Looking forward to watching the rest of the episodes to see how the story unfolds as politics always corrupts, so it will be interesting to see how that is overcome.
Very enjoyable.
Update: The episodes continue to be very good, dealing with social issues and surprising solutions. Really happy that I found this show. Right through to the end it continues to entertain while providing ethical, positive outcomes.
Appreciate the support acting by various cast members - Takahashi Issei, Yuriko Ishida, Tanaka Kei. And of course the opposition lead role well played out by Furuta Arata.

.."THE ONE WHO CAN REALLY CHANGE THE WORLD. . .IS YOU"..

..story of "THE HOUSEWIFE THAT STARTED A REVOLUTION" and for the ¥9.5M dream..
.
..the plot itself is nothing new in what really happens in one's country..
.
..I mean everyone can enter this politics - the place that looks like amusement park that everyone are welcome to join..
.
..yes, in this story also, it shows an indiviual for the sake of high salary to run for a position despite of lacking knowledge how politics work..
.
..a good listener and speaker who can change someone's heart plus their plan for the people are needed to take the spot - and maybe a pray for luck too..
.
..the full episodes also shows, the struggle, and overcome - how power can control people just destroy someone's reputation and even life too..
.
..one's that cannot only rely on personal decision but rely for all the people on their place because their words, their feelings, their memories, and their dreams are more worth than gold..
.
..I know all of you how the politics happend in your country too, but I do recommend this drama, not only because of the casts that I like, it is not kinda bored though I am not interested into politics and it takes almost an hour to watch..
.
..but it's kinda fun to watch too, the love of family, the love of friends / colleauges, the love for work are included too..
