So basically I loved everything about it - The story, the characters, the acting, the ending.
The only thing that annoyed me a little were Shinya's hair and really, that wasn't tragic. ;)
I loved how it switched between friendship and love and how important the relationships between the characters were. I loved Shinya's narrating, too (he does have a great voice) and the overall dreamy feeling this movie had.
I'm surprised it's not popular. Go watch it.

The actors were very believable, and the way the story was told made you cringe and yell at the screen because you just felt so attached.
Overall, (and since this is my first review and I'm not sure what else to write) this movie was great, and I would highly recommend it.

i loved everything about this movie!
I'm a sucker for bad fashion from the 2000s, so this movie did not disappoint! lol the chemistry between the two main characters was unbelievably amazing, their acting was great, and the storyline as well. Definitely recommend! I've watched this twice now, and I see myself watching it again sometime in the future. The main couple's chemistry is unbelievable and they seem so comfortable with each other, like they've been dating for decades! Most often then not Japanese BLs tend to have a sad/tragic ending, so it was nice to see a happy ending. Ai No Kotodama stands out and shows a great example of a relationship that goes through hardships and that end up happier at the end.

One of my favourite Bl films
This is definitely my favourite Japanese bl though there aren’t many. I have watched this at least ten times even though it has a very simple plot I’ve never got bored of it. It is a very sweet film and I definitely recommend. I love the characters they feel very real and have strong personalities, the scenario feels more realistic compared to some bls I have watched. From reading some of the other reviews I have seen that some people don’t like how the main characters look I personally really like their style, isn’t that just how people dressed back in the late 90s early 20s. I wish this film wasn’t so underrated it deserves more attention and love. Was this review helpful to you?
Sweet
I like a good falling in love story with my Bl dramas but I really love a making the realstionship work slice of life better. Oh that's what this one was a slice of life of two young men in love facing some ups and downs of their own making. It wasn't a complicated story but it was sweet and I really like the couple and their friend was cool. This movie was very refreshing after so many I like him but I'm not gay we can't be together but we get together dramas as of late. Nothing wrong with them just sometimes watching this or the vietnamese web drama Roommates is a nice palet cleanser lol. Great movie very rewatchable very fun.Was this review helpful to you?

I would definitely rewatch it. I felt nostalgic because of the flip phones and the clothes. There where a lot of cute moments between the couple and jealously. They where both stubborn when they got jealous of each other and I wanted to shake them and tell them to just speak to one another. Through out the movie they where both jealous of when their old female classmate shows up. There is a love triangle but it ends well in the end. I highly recommended this to you if you tend to like happy endings only. Was this review helpful to you?

A very short movie - only 72 mins. long - about two gay lovers, Ootani and Tachibana, who have been together since high school, and their little bout of jealousy, brought up by their old female high school friend entering the picture again after many years. That's pretty much it. Basically, a slice of life story about an old and never resolved misunderstanding. There's nothing deep or, I don't know, groundbreaking about it, it's just a sweet little bit of a story. But it's true that their little necking at the end was hot. It really felt like they were longtime lovers, familiar with each other in the most intimate way.

An oldie but a goldie
This movie is so aggressively 2000s in the best way possible. The hair, the fashion, the flip phones! An absolute delight. It also happens to tell a genuinely lovely story about a queer relationship which goes through rocky times but ends up stronger and better than before; a delightful surprise, in other words, especially considering the time in which the movie came out.
The story itself isn't particularly unique or intense, but there is a quiet air of sweetness and gentle joy about it that makes the whole thing feel groundbreaking in its own right. And it kind of is. It's a feel-good movie about a respectfully and lovingly portrayed relationship between two men in 2000s era Japan - that's quite a rarity.
All in all I feel this movie has stood the test of time; apart from the camera quality most of the technical and story-telling aspects hold up very well.
So if you're looking for a short, easy watch that's a bit different from most modern day entries into the genre, or are simply in the market for a romantic dramedy chock-full of 2000s nostalgia, then this is the movie for you.
