My Mister Episode 3 Reactions
Dong Hoon seems like a detached and cold person. Judging from the pictures of his son, he's dealing with the loss of a child. He's not mentioned his son or talked about it. Clearly his dealing with that. His wife clearly is either grieving in away that has detached herself from them as a couple, or moved on. Either way she's right: "She's a bad person." She might have said we instead of she, but to conspire against her husband like that. With a man that is clearly corrupt, done something to her husband repeatedly. She wouldn't just be getting her husband fired, having an affair and divorce, but on top of the loss of a child. When Dong Hoon got the warning that his wife new about the money he should stay suspicious. He's taking all the warning seriously and knows that Joon Yeong is after him. He knows it's not for the company and has even deduces that Joon Yeong has done him wrong and he is unaware of it. With the cold wife like that it wouldn't be too hard to piece. Especially because she already admitted to calling him.
What I'm truly confused about is why he can't find work elsewhere? Is it that Korea is that hard of a place to find new work? People can't stay with a job forever. Whether it's their choice or not. It's also clear his older brother has looked for work, but is picky and apparently bad credit means you can't be hired? Doesn't that seem stupid? You need to work to get out of debt. Clearly I'm missing out on something about South Korea's economics and how the working world works there.
Now back to Ji An. It's understandable that being that poor and under duress from her loan shark anyone can become desperate. I mean she lost her dish cleaning job, AKA source of food. (What monster fires someone who needs so bad that they're only stealing the leftovers!!??!! No really!) However, she showed some amazing skills her AND some high tech equipment and planning. Yes her gamer friend is helping. But that equipment alone could probably pay back her debts. Not to mention all her conning and skills could have clearly used in another way. By now I have no doubt she knows that Dong Hoon is a good person. Yet she's working against him like this. She's a horrible person. It's gonna take a lot more to make me like her. Plus, she's so conceded she thinks everyone wants her. That's kind of joke, but not really since she keeps bring it up.
There are too many things adding up. That Ji An's temp agency helped with the bribe and has so many connections with Dong Hoon's company. That she knew to work Joon Yeong side. Though if she really just randomly settled with him to help out then I question her. She should be good at judging people by now. I mean she made a joke that she's glad Joon Yeong wanted to talk because she was worried about him killing her. If the writer was smart this would be an elaborate plan the real owner was doing to flush out the bad seeds. I don't see it though.
Dong Hoon's brothers do grow on you. Though the eldest is super annoying. Clearly he knows about whatever happened to Dong Hoon's son, but still thinks his brother just has this cool easy life. I fell like the younger brother should have kept all the information on Ji An to help out Dong Hoon. At least they both have a job working "Brothers Cleaning". I feel like this might not last with dolts like them.
There was some real sprinkles of humor in here and I hope that means the endless hopelessness/bleakness of this drama and it's leads will ease up. There's only so much someone can take. Not to mention Ji An's grandma looked sick and we have no further word on that. Her gamer friend. Why aren't we explaining that? I will admit the emotions are intense and even the work politics are interesting. Still it needs more soon.
This third episode was less dark, the music helped a lot to lighten the atmosphere. But it was very intense anyway. I passed all chapter at edge of my chair, trying to understand what she was planning. Jin An is a genius, she surprise me minute by minute, and her gamer friend don't stay behind. I regret to have insulted him in the previous chapter. They did many ilegal things in such a short time that I am impressed. I don't really care about her alliance with the CEO. I know she needs the money, I want her to be able to pay off her debts soon because that loan shark is pissing me off. And all we know: she is being shaked by Dong Hoon.
I don't know what to think about Dong Hoon's brothers. I feel very sorry for them, but that's all. Maybe I really want to see them try hard, they only complain about how miserable is life while their mom is suffering a lot. For now, I enjoy a little this trio-losers concept.
Waiting for next chapter.
P.S.: Anyone else wishes the death of Dong Hoon's wife? Dear, you can drown yourself with your tears.
