Very light and fun to watch— but lot of twists along the story
I was waiting for this kind of drama, after watching My Girlfriend is an Alien. Although they are both different genre because this one is about Mermaid.This drama is a light fantasy and modern-mermaid story —but full of twists along the story. Swear! You will find yourself laughing and get romantic excitement on each episodes (like what I did) and you’ll also get emotional especially near the ending!
You will find yourself attached with the story, characters and actors even without noticing you are already at the end of the story.
God. I finished this within a day beacuse it’s intriguing me as what will happen to Ling Kong and Xiao Yu will they break the love curse between the human and merpeople.
And turned out, I am quite dissatisfied with the ending. The ending is very unacceptable because they compromised the ending. However, let there be light and hope for the season 2.
All in all, this is worth watching.
If you are looking for:
-very light and fun to watch;
-get romantic excitement and
- emotional at the same time;
-fairy tale/ mermaid concept
-and short drama only
Then this drama is for you. However, bear yourself with the ending, your feelings and emotions brought to you by this drama might hanged you at the very edge of the cliff.

Drama made too simple
At a glance this drama is indeed an extremely low budget drama. In total there are less that 4 location scenes. Personally i will not be giving any high marks on the overall story. The story plot is too simple and direct. There are no fresh and exciting scenes which worth to rewatch because much of the point are centered towards high level jealousy between ling kong and chen tian. Both of their behaviour are too explosive in nature taking all the matters by their own hands. When those behaviour comes to light it will dominate the entire storyline. I felt the producers seems runs out of idea on how to expand the story plot into more exciting and much craved to watch. Meanwhile xiao yu's acting skill is much praised. She deserves high credit but only overall performance drag down by lousy storyline. This drama would not achieve any good rating on general review. Quite a pity indeed.Was this review helpful to you?

Great show until it wasn’t
I loved the beginning of this show, but after about 16 episodes it felt like they rushed to finish it. I absolutely hated the ending. If it’s already unrealistic and there’s magic and mermaids, why couldn’t there be a magical way to make a happier ending for everyone? The ending was really abrupt…like…it happened so fast and was just over. Also, half of the last episode was all flashbacks. I’m just disappointed, this had so much potential.Not only that, but certain plot points felt like they were pointless and left unresolved. What was the point of the brother being a half blood mermaid prince? What happened to the dad’s company after he came back? This either needs another season to fix the terrible ending or like a movie.

ehh i dont really recomend
uk its bad when ur not even upset at the bad ending. cause it means that you were never rlly invested in the show.idk i thought story was intresting and it wasn't like bad bad or anything but throughout watching it i just kept thinking y? y tf r the chracters acting this way? tf is that persons problem? y am i watchign this? uk things like that. but even when I thought this way, it was all just eh feelings. not like noo whyyy urghh im so sad/mad, just eh.
im sorry. i thought their acting was not bad, but i think the problem is more so with how the story is writen. It had good plot "twists" (ig) but for a short drama it felt long for me. (but not i the way that it was drggy) more so in that it was just like not great delivery, that i felt like it was going slow.
