Kang Jae Mi led a happy life with her parents, but by the time she was 19 years old, her father had an affair, and her parents soon divorced. Jae Mi promised her mother that she would never see her father again. Later, Jae Mi fell in love with Han Jung Soo and married. 3 years later, Jae Mi tries her best to make a happy family. She runs a restaurant with her husband and, for all intents and purposes, is happy. Jae Mi also believes her husband is happy. Due to her parents' divorce, Jae Mi is also firmly resolved that she will never divorce, but it turns out that Jung Soo is having an affair with another woman. Furthermore, his mistress becomes pregnant, and Jung Soo wants a divorce. On their 3rd anniversary, Jung Soo gifts airplane tickets for Guam to Jae Mi, her mother and aunt. Byun Dong Woo is a lawyer who is supported by his mother. He has always been influenced by his mother and sister. Dong Woo always thought he wanted to be single for the rest of his life. Through a twist of fate, his sister's husband is also Jae Mi's father, Kang Hyung Do, which is unknown to all parties. To make his mom feel better, Dong Woo bought airplane tickets for Guam. Both families head for Guam on vacation, unaware of the fated unions that are bound to occur. Meanwhile, while Jae Mi is away in Guam, her husband Jung-Soo carries out his plan to illegally file for divorce. (Source: AsianWiki) Edit Translation

Half of this drama talks about divorce and affairs and the other half of this drama is about family. It became a battle between the two. Divorce/Affairs V.S. Family. I'm not saying that I didn't like that concept, but you could practically guess what would happens next with this formula for a drama. Affair...Divorce....Romance...in that order.

Now, don't get me wrong. This is one of the better long family dramas out there, but you just knew what was going to happen next.

The Characters:

Lee Bo Young's character reminded me a lot of her character in "I Hear Your Voice". She played a strong confident woman, and I loved that. Although in this drama, she is less mean then in I Hear Your Voice (At least to me.)

The little girl, Da Reum- was one of the cutest characters in the whole drama. Her story with her dad and ajumma was what kept the drama light and fluffy.

Lee Tae Sung who never plays the lead, played the lead in this drama. I had only known Lee Tae Sung from his character in Rooftop Prince, but after seeing this drama, I finally was able to see a different side of him (A fun side.).

Jin Yi Han played a jerk husband. What can I say? I hated him with all my heart. He rubbed me the wrong way in every way possible. In the end, though I feel he redeemed himself which is unusual in k-dramas.

Han Yeo Reum/mistress - Oh god. She was hard to tak,e but then again she was playing the role of a mistress so.....it makes sense. There were a few moments when I sympathized with her because of what happened to he,r but other then that I just felt she just was another typical Korean drama mistress (I know what your thinking. Typical Korean drama mistress? Is that even possible?) It's possible. Maybe I have seen enough Korean dramas with affairs to already know what her next move is. Maybe that.s it. I don't know. All that I know is I'm not impressed.

Kim Soo Mi/The Grandmother/Mother- She was hilarious! Even when she did a few hurtful things in this drama, I still loved her because of her feisty spirit. I could connect right off the bat. It's probably because I am a little feisty myself.

Chun Ho Jin/The father/Husband/Nice guy-I felt really bad for his character. I know in the drama that at the beginning, he did some wrong things. but towards the ending, I just wish the other characters would give him a break.

Byun Jung Soo/The wife who is a shopaholic- At first, I really liked her character, but after a little while in the drama, she became the target of the writer who made her appear to be entirely mean. Yes, she changes in the end, but because of the character changes, there were MAJOR setbacks in the drama.

Bae Jong Ok/The other wife with a heart of gold-She is another character that I felt deserved better in the beginning. I don't have much to say about her character because she was perfect in the drama.

Music/Rewatch Value/Overall

The music wasn't anything different. It was a happy, bubbly soundtrack and that fit with most of the drama. However, it wasn't that memorable.

Would I rewatch this drama? Maybe in the near future I will go and look at a few clips. but other then that no.

Overall....I would give this drama a 7. It was a bit longer then it needed to be and sometimes I felt like fast forwarding during some over dramatic parts, but other then that I enjoyed it. It's not an amazing drama. but it's not a bad one either .

Hooray for making through all the episodes

This was one of the first weekend family dramas that I ever watched. I was fairly new to the concept and I wasn't quite sure what to look for. I started watching this drama mainly for Lee Bo Young. I like her as an actress and I usually like the women that she portrays. In this case, she plays a strong and resilient woman, that thrives even after going through a painful time.

This drama is not about perfect families and relationships. It focuses on affairs, betrayals, divorce, and moving on with your life after divorce. I do find those themes interesting but I found the interactions somewhat bland and monotonous. I loved Lee Boo Young's character and story so I decided to stick to it and perhaps the drama would improve once the love line starts to develop. That was not so. To me, they had no chemistry whatsoever. It was hard to watch them together because they just did not match. I basically tried to endure it until the end because of the female lead. I really wanted to see her succeed.
