A masterpiece for office romance lovers, a sweet time pass for others

I've been watching Korean dramas since 2020 and what's wrong with secretary Kim was the second drama I watched. I absolutely fell in love. I can't say this enough, Park Min Young does wonders when it comes to office dramas and this one was one of them. And yes Park Seo-joon wearing suits is an eye candy.

Now the actual review, i'll keep it short and simple because I myself don't like reading very long reviews, I've always been a fan of tropes like possessive/jealous male lead, office romance, male chases female first, and I love cliches so this drama was an amazing watch for me. the combination of both childish male lead and the mature responsible female lead complimented each other very well.
The chemistry between the Park-Park couple was insane. I have been recommending this drama to my friends ever since I've watched it and trust me everyone loved it. Nonetheless, there were some downfalls during the whole story which included the mental trauma among the leads, I found it a bit exaggerated but that's obviously my own opinion, overall if you want a drama that has zero to no evil antagonists this one is definitely for you. Also, props to the stylists.

And Please don't let any review stop you from watching something you actually want to watch because I've found many dramas that I thought were worth watching after ignoring some useless review (of course there were some exceptions).

Hope this helps!! <3

What a sweet little nugget of a drama! Watch this drama if you want to see a great story, that has almost everything it's happy, funny, sweet, exciting, and sad. The story unfolds beautifully, the ML starts out as a narcissistic, self absorbed VP of a company and then the story unveils that those characteristics arose from a childhood trauma he shared with the FL. The FL, his secretary, Kim Min Young is loyal, dependable and very, very patient with the ML. She anticipates his every need and has given the last nine years of her life to her boss and the company and now wants a break. She tries to leave the company and this is how the story begins, Park Min Young who plays the secretary, is absolutely flawless in her acting, I liked her so much better here than in "Healer" and "City Hunter". Her acting has improved immensely and she is absolutely stunning in this drama. The ML and FL are very attractive and sweet together, the chemistry is palpable. The back story of the the childhood kidnapping only improves and moves the romance and their deep connection along. The small story line with the brother becoming another suitor also helps the ML solidify his feelings for the FL. No where did I want to skip scenes. The supporting cast is great and because there are no usual tropes, like amnesia or hereditary disease the story doesn't become frustrating. If you want to watch a rom-com with a serious side note this is the one for you. Please enjoy!

The story definitely sounds like a cliche, but at the same time, it tries to get away from that.
Also, the story is very light and dreamful.
This drama is so damn enjoyable and funny. I was laughing like a crazy person in every episode.
The characters were so simple but sooo funny, there's not a single "annoying" character, the vice president (Park Seo Joon) can be very self absorbed, but he was so sweet and funny XD
The chemistry was so good, it felt like they were really in love, I watched the bts and they are so cute. The problem was how much they cared about the past. Felt like 50% of their romance was because of the past and the other 50% was about the present.
I loved all of the support characters mainly Bong Se-Ra (Hwang Bo-Ra). The other couples were so funny. The vice president’s brother was very "radom" or "invisible" because most of viewers didn't really care about him (I think).
I can quite see this is a work of the same director of "Because This Is My First Life". He really likes to put comic sounds in the background. I hope he can someday make a drama based in the webtoon "Who invited you"!
So "what's wrong with secretary Kim" was one of the most anticipated dramas of the year, it had great reviews and popularity and it will be one of the best dramas ever.
A must-watch!

Just Amazing

I'm not a huge fan of sweet or cheesy cliché romances maybe because I'm Indian and Bollywood makes some of the most cheesiest and cringey worthy movies (sorry for Bollywood shade, if anybody didn't like), but this show was so good in the romance aspect and how well it was portrayed that I didn't feel cheesy scenes were bad or cliché (there were only few Btw) but they were sweet and always made me laugh or put a smile on my face which amazing coz I'm not a very emotionally expressive person and this also weird coz it made cry too (very little though,/ like tears didn't even come to my eyes but was about to ?). Apart from those cheesy scenes, there was great scenes with amazing acting, beautiful actors, both leads are incredibly gorgeous that was one of the reasons why I started watching this show, coz of Park Seo‑joon Hyung (PSJ), and got introduced too Park Min young (PMY).
There were toxic relationships, good communication, any conflict resolved soon not waiting for the last episode. No over the top villains, [⚠spoiler ⚠] the brother was annoying when he didn't get PMY. One thing I was a little off about was trauma cliché [ ⚠spoiler ends ⚠] but not enough to take my interest away coz it was portrayed very Good.
Loved the side love stories or their funny moments.
So
Story - 9/10
Cast or Acting of main characters - 10/10

Nice little Drama to pass time

I wasn't expecting this drama to be overly dramatic, and to make me think too much and .... it didn't.
I was Good morning Ladies because that's exactly what I was here for.
The story we saw a million times, the office dynamics were predictable, but in the end, it was a nice and enjoyable drama without much anything happening.
It could have been wrapped up in half the episodes to be honest but they brought enough cute to fill the void.
Enjoyable drama but not one you will rewatch later on.

The Park-Park Magic!!!

Let me get something out of the way...this show has a very basic plot...a plot which would have made for a very mediocre or even poor drama..!! Did I still love it - Absolutely!!!!!! Whats wrong with Secretary Kim rises and shines above this flaw coz of its biggest strength - amazing performances and crackling chemistry of its 2 main leads!!
Park Seo Joon as the narcissistic vice president brings his A game to the character of Young Joon!! This is a very risky role to play!! If not written and performed well the character could have easily come off as conceited and arrogant but Park Seo Joon owns the character and brings such an endearing charm to his role that you can’t help loving and rooting for this narcissistic character. You realize that he doesn’t say those snobbish things to put himself above others but being the confident person he is, he actually believes that he is those things and just says it out as facts in a straightforward way..this makes his narcissism endearing rather than annoying!!!
Park min young already had my heart in Healer but she steps up her game in this show and comes forth as a no-nonsense strong career driven woman who at the same time is a hopeless romantic and dreams of falling in love in the most romantic way!! She is charming, lovable and most of all relatable.
The chemistry between these 2 is off the charts and their banters and cute moments are to die for!! A scene where secretary Kim draws out a mini heart from her purse and Seo joon realizes a bit late what it is but immediately gets flustered upon realizing is absolute gold!!

This was the very first k-drama that I ever watched, and it began my obsession with k-drama in general. That's the best testimony I could give.

For a drama that has such a dark sub-plot, this drama was surprisingly funny. The romance was hilarious, especially the jealous scenes, and I loved the chemistry between the two leads. The side characters were really interesting as well, and I enjoyed seeing how other relationships developed.

I was SUPER intrigued by the mystery aspect of this, and it definitely delivered. The backstory was nothing that I'd expected, and the cinematography creeped me out successfully, which was a great balance.

Very Fun and Romantic Watch!

I have never read the original webtoon, so I do not know how accurate the drama adaptation is. However, I am very pleased with this drama. I am a huge fan of both Park Seo Jun and Park Min Young, and was pleasantly surprised with the choice in the casting.

This drama may be your typical cliche love story, however, the production was well-done and elevated the story onto a new level. Not only the main couple had amazing chemistry, but the supporting cast in the drama also did very well in playing their roles, and I love all of the interactions each character had with each other.

What is all this hype about, with WWWSK? Did a kiss make this a Kdrama classic?

“What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?” (2018) stars Park Seo Jun as Lee Young-Joon and Park Min-Young as Secretary Kim Mi So. The drama is taken from a Webtoon by the same name.

Each person can have their personal opinions about any drama. I am good with that. However, the Korean Drama “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?” is about more than that ‘top five kisses of all times’, in the back half of this Korean Drama. “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?” is one of the deepest Korean Dramas of all times too, in spite it being a RomCom. This drama is about a mental and emotional promise which one abused child (Lee Young Joon / Lee Sung Hyun) made to another abused child (Kim Mi So). That promise was to always be her protector, in spite of the mental and emotional hits he took in life to be there for her. While the child abuse was a shared experience of two young children (kidnapped by the same abuser), the young boy just took it upon himself to handle the abuse while shielding the little girl from it. Consequently, he took on the damage this experience would eventually cause in life while he hide her eyes from the potentially bad consequences.

WWWSK does display the comedic genius of Park Seo Joon, one of the top Korean Drama actors. However, the drama also delves into what made his drama character in WWWSK become the egomaniac which he became. The drama character Lee Young-Joon was a huge egomaniac and narcissist [having Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)]. Even though his NPD produced the most laughs in the drama, some may not know that egomania and NPD can be caused by childhood trauma. The beautiful love story which emerges out of WWWSK becomes a healing process for all, as the now “grown little boy” (Lee Young Joon / Lee Sung Hyun) can finally keep his pinky swear he made with the now “grown little girl” (Kim Mi So) so long ago.

What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? is a play on words. Is this exclamation a question or a discovery? Is something wrong with Secretary Kim or let me tell you what is wrong with Secretary Kim. Nonetheless, this Korean Drama is a must see for every Korean Drama devotee, in my opinion.

Personal admiration: For me, this drama (WWWSK?) has one of the top five drama performances by children. The child stars are actress Kim Ji Yoo as Kim Mi So (Eun Dan Oh [Young] from Extraordinary You) and actor Moon Woo Jin as Lee Young Joon / Lee Sung Hyun [Young] (It’s Okay Not To Be Okay, Castaway Diva). Kids don’t stay kids. Go figure. Watch for the great performance of actor Moon Woo Jin playing another abused child in Castaway Diva (2023).

Worth Watching?

Acting
I cannot comment if Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young managed to carry out their roles well as per the characters in the novel and comic since I have not read them. But they definitely have great chemistry between them as a couple and it shows in the drama. Being a romantic comedy, their expressions are funny at times to fit those light-hearted scenes. They don’t seem overdone and can elicit a laugh from me at the right moments.

For those loving and tender scenes, the love that they want to portray shines through naturally. I can feel it as I watch it as the acting makes it seems very real. A lot of kissing and bed scenes in dramas tend to look forced or stilted but you don’t get that feeling in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim. In fact, the kisses may be what everybody is looking forward to watching because they just did them so well that one could feel their love and passion through the screen! I think the only other drama that manages to equal, if not surpass, their chemistry is Her Private Life in recent times.

Storyline
If you are looking for exciting plots and unexpected endings, then this drama is not for you. There is nothing creative or new in the plot construction. It is just a simple fairy tale romance kind of story with a wealthy and handsome boss falling in love with his pretty secretary.

Instead of the plot, what should interest you is the way their relationship develops. It is the courtship process that makes the whole drama incredibly sweet and romantic and this is the main selling point of What’s Wong With Secretary Kim.

My Verdict
For this What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim review, I would say that it is definitely worth watching, especially if you are a romance drama fan. It only has 16 episodes which is just about right for a romantic journey that feels neither too rushed or too dragged out. Not many romantic comedy dramas can pull you along for the ride like this one does. Because the acting is so natural and the love between Young Joon and Mi So feels so real on screen, it will leave you feeling warm with all that sweetness.

So, watch it for the on-screen chemistry between Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young that will make your heart flutter. Listen to the dialogue too because some of the things that they say to each other during those tender moments will just melt your heart. And of course, the kissing scenes that take the drama to a whole new level. Trust me, you wouldn’t want to miss that!

The Kissing Scenes In WWWSK
Young Joon and Mi So shared quite a few kisses in the drama. But the ones listed below are definitely the hotter and steamier ones. While some may see them as too steamy for prime time dramas, somehow they don’t come across as “dirty” because as the story progresses, you can overwhelmingly feel the love that they have for one another. Hence, the kissing and bed scenes ended up being more about love than just merely physical acts. The intimacy is off the charts and it might even feel as though you are intruding on their private moments while watching those scenes!

These are the episodes with hot kissing scenes in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim:-
The first kiss in Episode 8. This is the scene when Mi So confessed her feelings to Young Joon. It’s a very tender moment for viewers to savor.
The closet kiss in Episode 9. Young Joon was made to hide in the closet when Mi So’s sisters came visiting. He was naturally angry, but the make-up kiss after the sisters left will leave you feeling sweet.
The couch kiss in Episode 12. This kiss happened when Young Joon said to Mi So that he wanted to be honest with his feelings. You can expect an intimate kiss here with deep emotions invested. But be prepared to be disappointed because they got interrupted half-way through by a phone call.
The bed scene in Episode 13. This is the hottest and steamiest scene in the whole drama. Mi So, who has been holding back, decided it’s time to spend the night with Young Joon. I can only say watch this alone and blush all the way through! And don’t forget to check out the morning after in episode 14. The sight of Mi So in Young Joon’s white dress shirt is a sight not to be missed!
There is also a kiss in episode 15 when Young Joon proposed to Mi So and a wedding kiss in episode 16. These scenes have a touch of tenderness to make your heart melt and craving for more!

So, go and watch What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim now and then feel free to come back here to drop your comments about this romantic drama.

A MUST WATCH SERIE !

I think this is one of my favorite drama ever and I'll definitely watch it again. I liked the story the most, then the acting because the chemistry between all of the actors was awesome not just the two mains, also the little touch of comedy was so funny that I rewinded some of the situations xD.
"SPOILER ALERT".. SO The beginning was very well narrated, there was the omg why she wanted to quit, then slower things started to get clear on her reasons. What I also liked was that for once the plot wasn't about a breakup which is typical when the guy is rich and she's not. I also would like to talk about about how the characters were well produced and presented to us, especially his brother and his parents and how it sort of clarifies his personality and why he only believes in himself. And the best thing was probably the last episode when we got a whole new "what's wrong with secretary Kim" but with a different situation. Finally, I really enjoyed and mostly we got so many romantic moments at the end on how each character got its finally too.

The name sounded cringy to me at first. However, after knowing Park min young and Seo joon are the casts, it got me interested. Most of min young's drama are good. I was happy how the story were carried through. There are many dramas those slack off toward the middle/end or it brags. I loved the straightforward, funny yet intellectual character. Some characters (note: not all) in drama don't take things seriously or completely serious, but I liked the balance in this drama. There are problems in every drama. What make me interested is how they deal with it. I definitely liked the way they dealt and i was glad that she confessed her feeling at that moment, not later. My cons of this drama is very personal, that's why idt it's necessary to mention it.
If you are looking for a unique boss, employee kdrama romance, this is a good one. It's different from rich and poor problem. I definitely recommend this one. I laughed a lot. It's entertaining, yet has story.
