Set in Central Visayas during the period of pre-colonial in the 1500s, Rajah Mangubat, who is known as a great and undefeated warrior but with a reputation of being a ruthless leader, is the ruler of a puod (a pre-Hispanic collection of city-states called "banwa", akin to that of a modern-day province). Not long after, a babaylan (village priestess) prophesies that a day will come when he will be defeated and killed by a female warrior with a twin snake. Anxious about the prophecy, Rajah Mangubat ordered his warriors to kill all pregnant women in every tribe. The only village that survives Rajah Mangubat's terror is the banwa of Datu Bugna, his long-time friend and ally. Edit Translation

A princess who became a servant, a priestess, a warrior, and a tribe leader.

70 episodes in.. super powerful yet so powerless still.

Just like other Philippines Teleserye or Fantaseryes, this one is too long with too many filler episodes. Yes, it has good production. Yes, it had great actors. Yes, it had nice sound track. But it's really really long, so don't watch this is you don't have the time or patience for shows like this.

Amaya is from a royal blood, born with twin snake. Elders and babaylan (priestess), said the children born like this are born to possess great power and has destiny to fullfil.

In order to save her from her fathers wicked wife, she was separated with her mother who is just a lowly servant. She didn't meet her and knew nothing about her until she was already an adult.

Series of unfortunate events happened: her father died because of his wife's anger. Her life turned from a revered princess to a lowly servant after that. In every twist and turns, it's like they're always trying to kill her. Then she rose from rank and became an apprentice babaylan. Then became a warrior and a tribe leader later on.

She sacrificed not only her life but also her love to fulfill her duties. It's really an inspiring story of a great woman of her time.

For viewers like me, who's a sucker for happy ending, this has a happy ending too. Would I rewatch this? Maybe not anytime soon. But I didn't regret watching it though.
