WARNING: THIS SHOW IS ONLY FOR ADULTS, SOME SEX AND NUDITY

A short and sweet (ignore sweet, its habit to write sweet with short!) but incredibly awesome 3 episode mini-drama.

Killer K is a bit different show than other Korean shows. This show isn't cheesy-cutie romantic comedy or melodrama but this show is full of blood, intense violence and nudity. But believe me it’s not MINDLESS drama.

The plot is simple – REVENGE like City Hunter and The Bridal Mask but in my view it easily overtakes both in REVENGE. The story is nice and well-paced. Its every second is thrilling. It isn't everything about action and violence but there are few soft and funny scenes too. There is small amount of melodrama too but it’s not too melodramatic.
This show ended in a way that suggests that there are chances of sequel but it’s over a year and still there is no news for second season so I think there isn't any chance for second season.

Killer K is full of violence and ‘ALMOST’ realistic action scenes. Truly this show scores 10 in actions including many incredible fist fights, sword fights and gun fights, BANG BANG BANG!! My favorite is “What’s this??”…..”This is Glock 17 C type…” and bang!!!
If you give 10 to Killer K for actions then Bridal Mask will get 5 and City Hunter 4 for the action (I know comparing action of 1930 with 2010 is idiotic but still overall action feeling). Both looks like kids in front of K. I haven’t seen many action dramas but I think this is best Korean action.

Han Groo is awesome as a KICK ASS high schoolgirl assassin. I don’t know why but I found her incredibly cute even in bloodbaths. Like a reviewer said here ‘She’s BLOODY AWESOME!!’ Can’t wait to see her in more dramas and movies.
Supporting cast is also very good and after long time I saw villains that are actually creepy.

And about music….it matches the story very well. There isn't any song like other dramas but background music is really catchy and makes you excited about fight.

I usually don’t re-watch dramas but this one is the only second drama that I've seen more than one time. I've seen this drama 4 times already and every time I was very excited to watch it like first time.

So, conclusion: If you want to take break from typical genres or want a bloodbath or satisfy your desire of realistic action or blood with awesome girl assassin then this show is for you. You won’t be disappointed and you won’t waste your precious time.
And if you can’t handle (or offended by) some blood, cruel violence, sex and nudity then please don’t watch it.

Can't believe I am just now reviewing this! If you want to see a female in a seriously stupendous action role; this is for you! I was simply blown away with Han Groo; especially with the fact that this was her first role and she was so young! The acting; professionally done; the supporting cast; blew me away also. Kim Jung-Tae was tremendous in the role and made me a believer for the second time of his acting capability! If you have not seen this and warning, there is a lot of violence, this is for you!! Han Groo is now on my watch list of up and coming young actors! Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!

Much appreciation to Korean cable companies for not playing it safe.

STORY AND ACTING/CAST -
Want to see a heroine in a Korean drama who can kick butt and take names? Watch this drama.

Han Groo is impressive and charismatic as the female lead who was trained as an assassin once her mother is killed in front of her very eyes. She never acts cute or pretty or stupid (It's freaking refreshing).

The drama stands out to me because it is 3 episodes of slick fight sequences and good cinematography and devilish villains played to perfection.

LAST THOUGHTS
A great watch for those craving a short and gritty drama with tons of action.
And a word of caution: the drama does have a lot of violent and sexual sequences as well.

Think of City Hunter minus all the romance portion and compress it to 3 episodes but more violent and bloody and you get a fast paced intense action(lots) thriller with decent amount of drama and enough story with no dull moments until the end.
Story: B+ the core story is not too complex but the way it shows the scenarios and suspense are epic... cool^^.
Acting/Cast: A- i think the actors/and actresses there are all not so popular but they played their role spectacularly/ i give them a plus point^^.
Music: B+ the bgm that creates the ambiance are creepyish^^ and thrilling but often presented it in a cool way when actions starts..... (but no song).
Rewatch Value: A- if you like theme... replay is high because its short and not tedious while its fun all the way.
Overall: B++ It has a quality like a movie and maybe even better than some action flick movie but one thing is really true...its cooooool ps: it is rated 19 but who cares
summarize: (in terms of how often it has these)

drama: 2.5/5
comedy: 1.5//5
romance: 1/5
action: 5/5
suspense: 4/5

Ps: my first review/ idk if i will follow the description value of each score in mdl style or in my own personal point of view :(

Don't watch unless action and suspense is all you need. This doesn't have much more to offer.

THE STORY
I want to write a really mean review for this one. I really want to. I could go on and on about how watching this felt like watching the narrative of a violent video game tailored for guys, with unnecessary sexual scenes, unnecessary blood, and, as a bonus, unnecessary deaths. I could rant about the ending, which made as much sense as a book read upside down and was extremely disappointing, or the characters with no development, or the plot with no depth. But then, I'd be omitting one little thing: that I was undeniably into Killer Girl K from beginning to end. The suspense did not falter from episode one, and the occasional humor was good too. Retrospectively, I didn't like it, but I have to admit I sort of...maybe...okay, definitely was enjoying it in the moment, so...yeah. It's okay.

THE ACTING
Good. A special mention goes to Han Groo. It was her first lead, I believe, and she was great. Too bad the show wasn't.

THE MUSIC
...*crickets*

REWATCHABLE VALUE
As you can guess, not that high for me.

This 3 episode TV movie/mini-series is an example of the missing link between the rather tame prime time action dramas such as City Hunter, IRIS, Athena: Goddess of War and Formidable Rivals on one side, and Korean cinema's infamous thrillers such as the Vengeance Trilogy, The Chaser but also Breathless on the other side. Girl K fills in the niche between these two extremes and it tastes like more!

The debut performance by Han Groo can be summarized in one word; Outstanding. Surrounded by a great cast of veteran actors and a few newcomers, the performance being delivered here by this young newcomer is spectacular. Stuntwork, singing, acting and dancing (though not in Girl K), this is a multitalented girl that deserves a lot of attention. Her next drama is MBC's Just Like Today which starts airing November 21st. That cast too has some very impressive names, but this girl is destined for more than sitcoms. However, this could also be a chance to show if she can play a variety of characters. I'm hoping to see her in a prime time drama or film in the near future, because she has potential and plenty of talent. There were a few moments where I thought I was looking at Ha Ji-won's character from Secret Garden since they look alike and have a few small similarities.
The rest of the cast does not let Han Groo down, with familiar names such as Kim Jung-Tae, Baek Do-Bin, Jeon Mi-Seon but particularly Park Hyo-Joo all making sure this 3 hour drama feels professional and serious. Fans of ZE:A can be happy too, since Dong-Joon is an important element in bringing some lightheartedness to this dark and violent drama.

Because dark and violent it is. Rated 19+, Girl K is generous with its violence and blood, and also shows some nudity and sexuality. If that is not your sort of thing, consider yourself warned. Consequently, the action is a lot more violent, bloody and confrontational, but without becoming unnecessarily gory. A good balance is achieved there. The fighting scenes are also better and feel appropriately colder in comparison to what you may have seen in City Hunter. There are still enough spectacular and entertaining scenes with unrealistic and over the top action to separate itself from the more serious Korean film thrillers. The fact that a sizable group of trained agents are unable to hit one guy while he kills one after the other distracts a little, but not too much.

There is a small element of melodrama and romance in Girl K, though it really takes a back seat, undoubtedly caused by the short run time. One could also argue that this drama makes a statement against overly romantic story lines we see in every mainstream Korean drama and ends it in style, violently. These few scenes do however lighten the mood a little, which is necessary in order to appeal to a broader audience and prevent it from becoming a mindless action thriller.

I'm a little more critical on the plot and background story. Stem cell research is interesting and all, but it goes too far with 'the evil biotech corporation' that invented something big and reacts violently in order to protect its discoveries. It's not all that important to the way in which the drama progresses so I believe they could have come up with a more convincing story to wrap this drama in.
Overall, if you the average Korean action drama is a little too cutesy and tame, this Korean version of Nikita is definitely what you're looking for. This could easily open the way for a follow-up, because three episodes was way too short.

8/10

Story : The story isn't new..it is the same bloody revenge we get...there is nothing new in the story and u can easily predict every character's action, but u'll still glue urself to the screen with its action packed and emotional heart tearing scenes...The problem is in the ending. It is a very disappointing one. I was hoping for a great wrap up, as the start was absolutely phenomenal.

Acting/Casting : Actors were very skilled. U don't get the tacky action in this one. u get real bloody one, which really convinced me and kept me holding my breath, which is good, because that means that the actors are playing their roles rightly and their roles are greatly reinforced. Thus, you'll find yourself sympathizing with heroine, who acted her role without any exaggeration.

Music : The soundtrack was great... it matched the scenes perfectly...

Overall, the whole drama takes an average 8 , because the first 2 episodes are great... I still advice u to watch it, but mentally prepare yourself for a bad ending.

Spectacular!

A great story with brilliant actors. The main actress is excellent, the action scenes are very good, if not excellent. This drama does not have those fluffy scenes, where girls are all beautiful, well dressed, and all that innocence. It's a breath of fresh air, very different from what we've seen.

Totally recommend to anyone who enjoys scenes with lots of action, a great story and villains in major roles.

OK I was trying to find a short-ep drama to watch and I stumble upon this one!! and BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY IT WAS WORTH IT!! **Yeonjin was always a rebel even at school but when her mom was killed, she became an assasin while still at school.. **

If you are sick of girl-lead playing cute and goofy then try this one!.. c'mon a teenage chick still at high-school kicking serious butt and I mean seriously mad-fighting skills GUNS AND ALL!..You will fall in-love with her from ep1.. Dont expect romance up in here too, I mean there will be romance but only for 10 seconds or so!.. If you love "The Man from Nowhere" with all the actions, GUNS, AND MARTIAL ART but with a girl-lead then you will love this one...100% GUARANTEE!! ..ACTING WAS SUPERB FROM EVERYONE and hope to see HAN GROO in more movies/dramas!! SHE WAS BLOODY AWSOME!..

This 3-episode mini-drama is a must watch for fans of strong ass-kicking female leads, and has just enough heart to make an impact.

My Rating: 9.0

In Short: The only thing I didn’t like about this mini-drama was how short it was. This premise, with it’s bad-ass Nikita/The Bride Heroine, could have been excellent basis for a more extensive plot.

Pros: Surprising emotional depth for such a short drama. They even fit some high school flirting as a great juxtaposition to all the killing. Han Groo was great.

Cons: The short length of the drama lead to some plot lines being rather thin. Also, they sure worked hard to make it very clear that this was on a cable network.

Little Girl K is a short, but powerful drama about a young girl forced to become a part of a secret organization, while eager to revenge her closest family member's death. The lead Yun Jin is played by Han Groo and she definitely made an impressive debut to TV screen. Never expected her to be so powerful and strong on screen and I can't think of any other actress that could possible replace her.

Like previous reviews said, the story itself is not really new as a person that lost someone is out for revenge, however the acting of the actors and the action (which it is full of) will keep you interested.

I would definitely recommend you to watch it if you'd love series like IRIS or Athena, however I still wonder why Korean tv blurs out blades, while showing all wounds made by it clearly visible on screen.

Killer Action & Fighting

LIKES:
Good action sequences, never boring.
Great fight scenes.
FX: blood although sometimes excessive still looked real. Fight wounds well done, same with scars.
Music mostly was okay and sound effects were well edited.
Location scenes, sets all well done.
Lighting was good too.
Writing; enough of a story to supplement the action. Nice to see a young woman empowered.
Acting for most part all done well, with stand out performances by Han Goo.

DISLIKES:
Production:
shaky camera syndrome where no film stabilizer was used.
Music:
the EDM used for action scenes was bad and too loud.
Acting:
some of the adults, like the mother (episode 1) were over the top bad.
Writing:
typical storyline; incompetent parent, the parent is out of the picture, revenge. Stem cell research concept is nothing new. Same old tropes. Why bother with the high school love interest, not needed.
Directing:
the naked tit shots were not needed and seemed thrown in for the male viewing portion of the audience.

OVERALL:
One of the better action fighting movies. Great sword/knife fights too. I recommend it, especially watching the behind scenes moments while credits roll for Ep. 3. I would watch it again, it was that fun.
