Waste of time to watch

Critique While "My ID is Gangnam Beauty" has many strengths, it also has notable weaknesses:

Repetition and Predictability: Some plot points and conflicts feel repetitive and predictable, making parts of the story seem formulaic. This can diminish the impact of key moments.

Character Development: Although the main characters are well-developed, several supporting characters are underutilized. Their motivations and backstories could have been explored more deeply, which would have added richness to the narrative.

Pacing Issues: At times, the drama's pacing is uneven. Some episodes drag, particularly in the middle, which can make the series feel longer than necessary.

Clichés: The drama occasionally relies on clichés common in K-dramas, such as love triangles and misunderstandings, which can feel tiresome for viewers familiar with the genre.Superficial Treatment of Themes: While the drama addresses important issues like beauty standards and self-esteem, these themes are sometimes handled in a surface-level manner. A deeper exploration could have made the message more impactful.

Rating 7/10

This drama is a real surprise, it really went from a 4/10 to an 7.5/10 in a very short time.

At first, I really didn't like the drama. It was long, you didn't get attached to the characters (they were borderline annoying) but as it went on (even if it's too long), you start to get attached to the story, the characters and the context.
I find that from a certain point on, the drama takes on a whole new look and promotes real values: self-acceptance, acceptance of others' views, feminism.
It really touched me and I recognized myself in each of the characters (even the most annoying ones).
This drama is a real surprise, it really went from a 4/10 to an 7.5/10 in a very short time.
There are still a lot of long moments... but in the end, it's nice and quite well written.
I recommend it, it's nice.

Watch It Now !! Unlike other RomComs , this drama is Meaningful, Genuine & Amazing.❤ You'll get to know the real meaning of beauty in this drama, it is mirror for those people who judge girls by their looks or so called their "beauty". I'm really glad that someone made this type of drama because it shows us the real world. Now, When it comes to the characters then...I love both leads, Kang Mi Rae is Beautiful by heart, she's just she & that's what make Do Keong Suk like her. I'm really satisfied that it shows that a man can understand what really Beauty is. Other than leads I extremely loved female characters like Tae Hee & Mother of Do Keong Suk who understood that what really their man's are & they reject both of them ???? , they won my heart in the end by their decision. Soo Ah's character Irritates me a lot , i hate her but they showed in last that why she was like that. Nice Music & Good storyline keep exciting you what's going to happen next . I can't find more appreciation words but this drama is "WORTH WATCHING", So Watch it Now without any doubt.????????????

The show was really great I liked it a lot. The show was very once boring. It made me feel all the emotions in a good way. The romance was really good the tow people had good chemistry together. I liked the idea of the show. I think they did a good job with how the show played out. I would give it a ten star but there was nothing that they did that was difference and stood out to me. But what they did do was great don't get me wrong. The script they wrote for this show was good. I liked the actors and actresses they chose for this show. They all did a great job on it. The makeup, hair, outfits were really pretty and well done. The translations were really good in this show. I would recommend this show to everyone.

So I have to say this Drama come get you in the heart. I love the story line of it so much how people can be so mean to people, how people see people. To some people look of is anything of then dating the most pretty girl or of a girl is dating the most handsome guy. But then are people who don't care about look only what on the inside not the outside. How Kyung Suk See Mi Rae. It show how no matter of people think u are the pretty or Ugly it don’t matter. Then just mean to this u can be the most Skinny and be the most pretty to people but still not be happy about your self or have wight on u and don’t like u self or in both way u can be happy no matter what not everyone is Perfect. Look are not everything and I feel like this drama show that explain in Korea but it not just Korea it all over the world. Love who u are not what people think of u.

I LOVE the plot. However, looking back in hindsight the drama isn't as woke as it's trying to be. It constantly preaches that looks don't matter but you made the male and female lead attractive. It would have been more relatable if kyeong-seok was in a relationship with Mirae and she DIDN'T get plastic surgery. Plastic surgery is so common in Asia yet it is barely talked about in society let alone TV shows. In this you get to see potential effects it has on a person after they go under the knife and how it could change their life for better or worse. Mirae really tug at my heartstrings with her sad backstory and conflicted emotions. After the surgery, she had seemingly gotten what she always wanted from those around her: love. But on the inside she still felt the same, and Im Soo Hyang's portrayal of a conflicted beautiful girl was great. She delivered an emotional performance and she had me tearing up even though I never went through anything remotely close to what she did.

I actually enjoyed all the characters. Even soo-ah tho she got the side eye a lot of times.I heard in the webtoon her character was more in depth but in this they just reduced her to a mean pretty popular girl, which is disappointing to me because I actually wanted to know more about her backstory. Wooyoung was my favorite character. He was cute and charming and kind-hearted and understanding. AND PATIENT. Just a good guy in general. if guys like him existed where I live I wouldn't be single. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want Mirae to be with him and not kyeong-seok. I really felt for him when he was rejected by Mirae. Second lead syndrome definitely happened to me.

The acting was very good. I can see why some people had a problem with Eunwoo, and I can definitely see where they're coming from. Oftentimes he seemed cold, standoffish, and dull, and I feel like he stays like that until the last few episodes. He just posed a lot like a model lmao. Like ok we get it, he's handsome. But he didn't do so bad. As for Im Soo hyang, amazing job. You can really tell she embodied her character to the fullest extent.

IMPORTANT MORALS I LEARNED FROM THIS DRAMA:
1. Plastic surgery can't fix an internal issue.
2. Being pretty doesn't necessarily mean you have an easier life. From a certain point of view being beautiful can be a negative thing.
3. What's the point of being beautiful if you're not happy?(this one's the most powerful)

Overall I give this drama a 9/10. Thinking about rewatching it soon

The show could have been any other youth/college romance stories, but the situations, remarks, and a varied range of characters in the series, made it familiar and relatable. At least once, everyone has come across situation or remarks like these.
Kang Mi Rae and Do Kyung Suk were written as characters having less experience in social situations, both for individual circumstances and not for once did they feel awkward or stiff . A sudden transformation in social skills would have been more unrealistic. Their chemistry also very likable (never thought I would be fangirling over Cha Eun Woo).
Also I really liked Hyun Soo Ah, though portrayed in a negative sense; she had the best skills and made it easy for me to hate her.
Give it a try it’s a really nice show and in case already watched, let’s keep on recommending it to others.

Just watch it for the beautiful cast

This drama started well, I was so in love with it because it was so refreshing that i didn't bother sleeping because i wanted to know what happened next.
However, the last 2 epsiodes was trash. It was like they got out of material (not that they had any to begin with) but because they wanted to make it the "mandatory" 16 episodes they decided to put a whole bunch of nothings together.
The cast did a good job though, kudos to everyone of them.
They had a good idea planning a story around plastic surgery and how much society bullies people that are not their standard of beauty but it's like they lost their focus along the way.
The first 10 episodes was very good and it excited me but things started going downhill from episode 11 then episode 15 and 16 was just a waste of time.

The first 6 episodes were really slow, even compared to "A Love so Beautiful". I'm not into watching the ugliness of society (be that Korean, or American) for extended periods of time, I was ready to drop the drama multiple times for that reason, but the entire plastic surgery thing kept me interested just long enough to reach episode 7 and then things turned for the better. I realized that I really started liking the cast & the romance was getting more and more interesting. There was no humor at all in the first half, but there were quite a few funny moments later on too. As usual in a drama like this I expected the worst from the love triangle, but that never happened, that's always a giant plus. I don't really care about bromances, but this one here was not much worse than in Goblin. I also like how it ended. Yes others have commented on how many secondary plotlines are unfinished & how great a second season would be, but I disagree. I'm genuinely afraid of what the plotline in that hypothetical second season could be. I feel that they followed the still ongoing webcomic too closely up until the ending, that's why we had all that melodramatic setup in the beginning that couldn't really lead anywhere in 16 episodes and honestly I'm not that curious about their resolution, feeling that it's better not to know, I'm content that I got the happy ending that I wanted & the topic of plastic surgery & the psychology of plastic surgery were sufficiently explored.
The OST was just there, here I am writing this 8 hours after finishing the series & I don't recall a single song, or track. Not memorable at all.

Gonna keep this short and simple. Overall, I really loved the drama, from the cute little moments and romcom to the way the drama taught me that there was so much more to beauty. There is so much more to 'I want to be pretty' than just being vain. Although this show didn't give the urge for me to marathon the whole way through and watch episode after episode, its light-heartedness was what drew me in. Regardless of how mediocre the characters' personality were and how plain a storyline it had, according to some, I would still say this is a great drama.

WOW. WOW. WOW.
That was such an amazing drama (I literally finished watching it 2 minutes ago) 'My ID Is Gangnam Beauty' made me laugh out loud so many times, kept me on the edge of my seat and ship the two main characters so much! At the end of every episode it made me eager to watch the next- it was that interesting! I'm so happy I watched this when all the episodes were already out because I don't know if I would've been able to survive a whole week waiting for the next one! I've never written a review but I am for this one which shows how much I really love this drama. The storyline was creative and so cute! I loved the chemistry between the two main characters. All the supporting roles did a fantastic job as well. Not to mention, the soundtrack is absolutely wonderful and fits perfectly with the show. I LOVE college romance dramas and haven't been able to find another one as good as 'Cheese In The Trap' but now I can happily say I have with 'My ID Is Gangnam Beauty.' FINALLY the message portrayed in this drama is so beautiful and relevant in today's world where everyone places so much significance on beauty and physical appearances. YOU, whoever is reading this, I want you to know that you are beautiful and strong and smart and should not worry about what other people think about you. Because at the end of the day, true beauty lies within each individual. That's all I wanted to say, feel free to add me as a friend! Now, my quest continues to find another drama that I can fall in love with, preferably romance >.<

OPINIONS

This drama is all about the love story of KMR and DKS. More of a romance drama. There's school bullying, high-school stuff, and others. I don't think I saw any more genre other than romance but this was a very interesting drama to watch. (It was in fact my first K-Drama I watched!)
The plot was unique, but it's more of a "friends to lovers" or "classmates to lovers" story... But the plot was kind of interesting.
The characters also had unique personalities. For example, KMR. She's one of the beautiful people in her batch but doesn't seek attention nor brag about anything.
The ending was as expected, KMR and DKS will fall in love and "live happily ever after". Since it is a love story, I kind of expected "Happily Ever After". And after all, it's a "friends to lovers".
The casts' acting was very good. They all played the characters greatly.
