I knew what this drama had in store for me just by knowing the general plot line of it. I've been teetering on the edge of finishing this drama just because I knew it was going to be angst packed & heart breaking, but it was worth it all. The thing I loved most about this drama is that its portrayed in such a realistic way - living with Dementia is one of the most heart breaking, saddening things that can happen to a family. Watching it happen first hand just takes the cake. The acting? perfect. The story progression? flawless. The only thing that I can say is bad about the drama (& you can't even say 'bad' but more like 'realistic') is the reality of it all. Soo Ae is flawless & this is probably one of my favorites by her.

A real heart-wrenching drama. Even thought I complained at time at the pace of it, I came to the realization that he would not have been this good a drama if it had been fast pace. Kim Rae Won and Soo Ae acting was so real, even all the supporting cast manage to make in sort that this drama set itself apart from all the other. There's nothing really nothing that can't be forgiven about this drama, because of course it would be utopic to actually say that it was a perfect drama, but like I say all the negativeness about it can be forgiven. I would say that to watch people should be ready to acknowledged the fact that life is not always peachy and that not all story have an happy ending.

Let me start by saying this: Soo Ae & Kim Rae Won are two of the most talented actors I've ever had the luck of watching on television or film - from any country! What they were able to bring to the characters of Seo Yeon & Ji Hyung [the passion, the anger, the devotion] was breathtaking. You want an example of perfect chemistry? Watch the two of them. The story sheds light on the struggles of both people with Alzheimer's & the ones who love & support them. I'm not going to lie: I cried pretty much every episode; six times during the finale alone! The performances were so stellar & human. Not once did anyone go over the top. And I can't finish without mentioning Park Yoohwan! If we could all be so lucky to have a sibling as dedicated & loving as him. Such a fantastic actor! ***I gave the show a 10 in re-watch value, but I'm actually on the fence about re-watching it again. It was so unbelievably beautiful, yet emotionally taxing that I think I'd need to pace myself if I ever did decide to watch it again.

BRILLIANT ACTING BY THE WHOLE CAST

When I first began watching the drama I only thought Soo and Kim could act; but as you get more and more dragged into the plot, all the actors deliver sensational performances. By the time I got to the 10th episode, I was so indulged in the storyline that I struggled to turn it off. At this point I was hoping he would not get either girls.

P.s i warn that you have tissues handy from 16 onwards because my emotions just got over me as each episode progressed. Such an overwhelming story. I am so happy of my first Korean drama choice; on to the next one :)

While this drama is truly sad, its storytelling is beautiful and remarkable. I don't think that I'd be able to erase it from my memory for a long time. Hands down to the brilliant acting by the main leads! Kim Rae Won's expressions of grief will be too hard to forget not to mention Soo Ae's blank stares each time her illness takes over.
Alongside, the supporting characters and backstories were sufficient and realistic enough to draw out the main plot. Although at first I found the pacing slow, I realized that it was intended to be as such to give more chance for the viewers to be attached so that when it is time to withdraw, there will be more tension, more tears and more tugging at the heart. :(
Towards the last few episode I began to worry of how the ending would go but it sure was ended well.
As for re-watching, as emotionally haunting as it, I'd recommend a few more months of rom-coms before doing so.

For crying

Such a story so hard experience
So sad
What a love !!
Love really full of selflessness her man showed
What a man
I really liked the drama despite all the pain it gave
It shows the real hardship of pt with Alzheimer's disease
It'll make you cry , not once , alooottt
I love real dramas and this is one of them
So real emotions so thoughtful ,no added drama or unnecessary extras
I won't lie that i skipped some parts coz i focused on the main couple but totally the drama is so good from story to acting to filming
At first i didn't plan to watch it , i opened first ep found it in drama app by chance without searching or knowing the story and was curious how it'll end
I thought it'll be about love cheeting and such that what i got from first ep as first impression, but then continue watching and i was hooked!
10/10 for sadness i needed sadness and crying tbh and this is at it's perfect time
I'm a sad ending sad story melo lover so its a full 10 dor me
But tbh away from me it is a really good drama with good cast and acting shows a real life part and hardships that comes with it , an underrated good drama .
Thank you for reading .

A Thousand Days Promise (2011) - okay, this drama hurts to much, and I cried a lot. I have seen the trailer for this one in ABS-CBN (*our local television network) with tagalog dubbed and I was curious and got interested. It's not just tears that fall down on my cheeks, but also my snot and all, gross but I was so hurt. It's too heartbreaking, its a sad drama. This drama is really melodrama at it’s highest and the cast simply shows that this drama is one of a kind. The lines in the drama are really well written and executed that I felt it. Would not rewatch for sure, I don't want to hurt myself again.

Wow, love this drama

This is a truly amazing drama. The director takes us through the journey of memory loss starting from dementia right through the severe stages of Alzheimer of complete memory loss .......

Though slow paced, this was not a difficult drama to watch. The brilliant acting of Soon Ae and Kim Rae Won drew me in right from the start. The entire supporting cast did a really good job too. The drama managed to teach us about this little known memory loss disease and somehow gently unfolded how such disease affects all the love ones around them who makes the choice of accepting, understanding, coping and loving the person throughout it's slow degeneration. I could not find a single flaw in this drama and highly recommend to those who seek to understand and educate themselves.

For me it was a reminder that one should live everyday and every moment being thankful and never forgetting to tell the one you love, that you love them. When one is not well, these words are held on to like 'dear life', what more with those who enjoy good health. So always remember to say, "I love you" .... "Salanghae"!

The love story between Seo Yeon (Soon Ae) and Ji Hyung (Kim Rae Won) scores 10 for me on this drama.
