YUUUUPPPPP???
Okay I kind of forgot to add this to my list of shows I’ve watched since I watched it a loooong time ago (and didn’t have this app yet), since my memory isn’t the most fresh of it, I still remember just how good it had me entranced and how quickly I finished the entire series. The whole show revolves around Nanno and although you might consider her the ‘villain’, I really think she’s just karma. And i LOVE karma. This show shows the consequences of your actions, although maybe a little too extreme LOL, but every character that has encountered Nanno deserved what they got.
That being said, I really want another season so we see more about Nanno and her backstory. There’s been theories that Nanno is the satans daughter or something but I genuinely think she’s her own entity, or shes just personified karma.
Overall, this show will entertain you in every episode. GREAT SHOW!

Psycho, fantasy, and we like it
Each episode basically reveals new stories. Each story deals with different people in certain social situations. We see the series through Nanno's eyes.
Nanno, the main character, a mysterious girl with supernatural powers, appears in a different school every episode, where she bonds with a certain person/group of people. [Those people are either bullies, egoists, rapists...]
Nano, which is on the border of a negative and a positive character, reveals every episode some lessons and teaches us about the value of life itself.

A few years later, it became the talk of the town, and I kept seeing spoilers on Twitter, so I decided to continue watching it. This time, I became more engrossed in the drama, and surprisingly, I also find myself laughing together with Nanno whenever the main character in each episode is being punished. Her character is very mysterious, being able to transfer schools looking fine despite being hurt (and even killed) a couple of times. But the real question is, who is Nanno? Kitty answered that Nanno is the daughter of Satan, but I believe there is much more behind it.
Recommendable, although I advise everyone to be careful as it has many trigger warnings and disturbing scenes for some. I can't wait for season 2 and I somehow hope that Nanno gets her own backstory, of how she became the daughter of Satan, as Kitty said.

AMAZING!! I NEED S03 ASAP!!!!
I really enjoyed watching every single episode of this series !!! How the actor portrayed Nano! she did such an amazing jobI love the laugh she makes when her victims overcome the consequences of their own actions and mistakes!! I love how they mentioned Tw// R@pe , Sexual assault , Bullying , Murder... within the teens and the adults!! (they didn't gatekeep it within a gender wich was even better)
My only wish was if the episodes were a bit longer? So I get to see her portray more emotions .
Since she IS karma , I was mesmerized in that one episode she felt bad for the guy and left after making the promise she wouldn't leave him (that episode is literally my fav episode so I had to talk about it here hihi , EVEN THO SHE BROUGHT HIM HIS FATHER BACK, they way she looked at him Shattered my shoul)
I hope we see them together another time? maybe in season 03?

it's the type of suspense and mystery series that doesn't only contain content that can scare you or has a lesson at all. in fact each episode has its own concept along with a lesson. it contains the content of reality of the things that we don't really notice happening around us. The acting, the setting, the cast, the plot and the moral was really amazing and I enjoyed watching every episode. it also contained other genres that are put to a minimum but it kept the story overall interesting. and didn't outshine the main genre. Nanno is a much more evil version of Hell Girl
"Sawadee ka, Nanno na ka""Hello, I am NANNO" - translation from thai
Thus opens every episode of this drama "Girl From Nowhere" with that introduction above, which is creepy. which is ranked 8 in MDL and 7.6 on IMDB
I don't try to review drama and post anywhere, but then this one needs a mention because of its powerful storytelling, great music and true portrayals of school issues among teens. Its very very psychological and a bit gore tackling very sensitive unspoken hidden issues in society. And yes its Halloween for me this month, duh the whole month or basically everyday so this is a good title eh.
Just as the title of the drama suggests, the main character is from nowhere, we don't know nothing about her but she goes to this every school and exposes people. It could be teachers, students, the janitors no one is safe, not in a million years. At first i read the synopsis and was discouraged to watch it, but the reviews and ratings made me think otherwise and sure its a completely different take on school issues, the directors/writers took the taboos and just threw it at my face for sure. In every episode its like WTF is happening, because you can't surprise me easily with horror and this show without significant or no jumpscares terrified me or left me feeling empty. Plot twists are unpredictable, literally iin the second season 1st episode a guy gets pregnant so yeah.. that sums it up.
So viewer discretion is super advised, you are going to see sins.. sins crawling on peoples backs but they are also crawling on your back too? No one is free from karma and if you do bad its going to come haunt you. Probably closely following Thai-buddhist culture and the country's school setting, each episode highlights one different scenario: sexual abuse, bribes, mental issues, strict rules, bullying and some out of the world scenarios i have never seen in other drama. It goes on a realistic flow and then suddenly goes a bit supernatural. One of my favorite episodes is where "the weak was given power" : a random girl accidentally finds out that writing on the bathroom wall grants her any wish. We all wish for power, but at what cost exactly? What happens when other weak people share this power? Result is CHAOS..
The main protagonist "Nanno" is like Enma Ai from hell girl, but she has no side kick , she just instigates people, manipulates, teaches lessons, show your sins. She is not your friend and not your enemy, god knows who she is probably but I dont. The protagonist is not your damn hero so don't keep hope. Did this drama give me PTSD or some trauma, it really did, I'm Asian, asian setting in the drama and put two two together and there we go. I share one inspirational quote below from the drama and end this mess:
"All of us have heard countless apologies. If we make a mistake, we apologize. And yet, we still make more mistakes. Perhaps, our apology is actually meant for our next mistake"
How many fake excuses will you make, fake apologies and keep doing the same thing over and over again? If you make one mistake and you do i again, I think it says a lot about you eh?
All in all the show is artistic, well choreographed, absolutely amazing acting from Kitty Chicha and other actors and actresses. Amazing addictive OST's and OP, beautiful scenery, clean TOILETS and yes uh plot twisting story lines carries the show.
This drama makes you think, question and reflect on your whole life. Watch it if you dare! On netflix "Girl From Nowhere" Season 3 coming soon and I am very ready to get tortured blissfully with each new ep.

It's scary but not scary at the same time. Like it's not scary because it, not horror, there's no monsters, demons, ghosts, etc. but what makes it scary is that there's a lot of crimes and murder, and we don't know where this girl comes from. She is like the half-human, half-demon. I'm someone who gets scared VERY easily and hates scary things, but this show isn't as scary as it seems. This girl is basically representing karma.
The only thing it lacks is the storyline. Every episode is like a new book. Like episode one has nothing to do with episode two. So there's not really a specific storyline because of that. I really enjoyed this show. Like everything I watched was nothing as I had expected. Another thing it lacks is the ending of each episode. They are all cliffhangers. At the end of most of the episodes, it just leaves us hanging, it doesn't really tell us what will happen next.

Dark fictional stories based on scary aspects of human personality.
I don't like writing reviews when I've missed the early window for the show but 36 reviews is too little enthusiasm for Girl from Nowhere. There are some points about this which I didn't find mentioned anywhere so all things considered I decided to review it.The first point which stood out to me after watching four episodes of Girl from Nowhere is that the series isn't about simply punishing the wrong-doers. It's not to inflict pain on the wrong-doer. It's not to right the wrongs—the crimes shown here are too grave and far-gone to be corrected. It's about making the wrong-doer realise what they did wrong, the gravity of their actions, and that is the hardest route to 'correct' wrongs.
The series it leaves no room–absolutely none–for redemption of the villains. It starts out with really small situations—a yoga appointment, flirting boys, jealousy, rich kids being total snobs—seemingly harmless right? No. Each story has been crafted carefully with the post escalating slowly, building trepidation and curiosity.
Even though Nanno can be considered the main lead here, she is actually an instrument in the series. She is the one who ushers the plot along. Would a teacher assaulting students get imprisoned generally? No. Nanno puts the correct pieces in so that the happen on their own accord. Is Nanno making these things happen? No. These things are happening right now, at this moment at multiple places around the globe, without Nanno's help. In these series, everything happens around Nanno but it somehow doesn't. A lot of the time Nanno is hovering in the background tapping away at the right buttons, leaving the characters to dig the deepest, darkest dungeon they can for themselves.
Point is that the presentation of the story is mind-blowing and that is I think what makes Girl from Nowhere stand out for me. It's not just a simple presentation of a crime and a subsequent lecture on society and it's packings. No, this is Nanno, a girl from nowhere, leading the narrative and pushing things to happen. Things that are truly happening to other people elsewhere.
The episodes don't conclude with a concrete closure on the story—we don't see Mr. Win in prison, but we do see him as a completely shaken man, a man with a prison term and a dead daughter. We don't see the five students in a juvie, but we do see them being haunted by Nanno and by their own deeds. We don't see Mew getting revealed in front of the world but we know that she is descending deeper into the hell she made for herself. The stories don't end completely but we can feel the impending room on these people, brought about by themselves.
The stories are all about actions and consequences. Every action will have a reaction and Nanno asks, “Are you ready for it?”
Apart from the storyline which keeps viewers on their toes, there's the whole thing about how wonderful Chicha is as an actress. The laugh, the head turns, the grace in her movements; these have left me fangirling over her constantly.
Here's my first feedpost on her: https://mydramalist.com/profile/Nada_SouSou/feeds/ePnQkcy
“Nanno is Nanno.”
The stories, directors, writers–everything in the series keeps changing in every episode–everyone except Nanno (and therefore Chicha). But don't make the mistake of thinking that the show revolves solely around her. The side characters are equally well done. The acting doesn't leave room for improvement, it really doesn't. They all delivered on everything—the deeply emotional sobs, the evil laugh, the happiness before the storm—Nanno in particular has this psychotic glint to all her actions.
Even though there was a separate crew working on each of the episodes, they meld together perfectly as an anthology. This show has been the perfect mixture of mystery and macabre.

as you will be wondering “what is the
female protagonist is doing?” but after
a few episodes you will get a sense of
it. Basically this series is about a girl
whose identity is never described in
the drama, no one knows where she is
from and where she goes and
anything about her except the fact that
her name is NANNO and she is
definitely not a human.
She is more like a grand daughter of
Satan. In the show we see her going to
different school every new episode and
destroying the lives of bad people.
Basically the show’s main focus is to
make the real life’s victims into the
winners. For example if a girl got killed
by her classmate just because she is
beautiful then that’s a sad story and
the girl is the victim but what if the
dead girl comes back to life again and
again and terrify her killers?
That is what the show is all about.
Nanno thinks that there is no good in
people and every person has a bad
side to him or her. All she does is to
wake that bad side of one certain
person and then they do a certain bad
thing and nanno punishes them for it.
The punishments were not that
extreme.
Sometimes I thought that they deserved
more punishments but nevertheless
nanno was not a killer and so she never
killed anyone. All the people that were
killed in the series was totally not
according to her plan and was pure
coincidence.
Now I, of course, liked the series a lot.
The main theme of the series was
unique and every episode had a new
plot, new characters, new crime and
new punishments. It was always
interesting to see what bad thing will
they do and what kind of punishments
will nanno give them. The drama was all
about the bad sides of a human as how
bad even high school students can be.
The people who are supposed to be
innocent have such demons inside them
and of course the series never imply to
every student or to every person to be
bad. The series even have one single
episode where the suspect was not bad.
Nanno’s new target for every new
episode were kinda easy to guess but
the twist that we were given further
were not at all easy to guess.I loved the
actress who played nanno and loved
nanno’s character on a whole.
Especially her laugh, I am kinda
addicted to her laugh lol.
Now I said many good things about the
drama but the drama had some faults
too. The drama is fantasy mixed with
slice of life mixed with psychology and
dark humour. Due to this it may be
confusing to viewers as to what the
message of the drama is. The fact that
they tried to mix slice of life with fantasy
was a creative and bold decision but it
may be confusing to some viewers.
Of course the show’s main message
was to stop doing these kinds of bad
things but their approach to deliver that
message was different from others.
Instead of teaching the viewers and the
bad people, they made them have a fear
of nanno. The whole message was “stop
doing these types of immortal things or
someone like nanno will show up in your
life”. In conclusion, the whole show is
about KARMA. If you love dark humour
and likes psychological things just like
me then this one is for you!

Karma sure has a cute face!
The Girl from Nowhere was so much fun show. Every episode had a differant feel to it but was fun in its own way. Each episode takes place in its own school and is based around its own sin. Nanno the main character is a pretty, smart young girl who moves from school to school bringing her own happy horrifying verson of karma on all those before her. Well sort of. If their isn't enough trouble at a school when she arrives Nanno stirs crap up herself so she can punish someone. Her punishments very feom fair to way overkill. She seems to having been doing this for decades and feeds off the fear and pain of those she is punishing reguardless of the innocents who are hurt along the way. While people die in this show its never those getting punished because that would be to easy for Nanno. I really really loved this show. She was like all those somebody should come smack this annoying character fantasies you have when watching a show with a kind or too nice lead come to life. She is OP but its fun watching and trying to fugure out what the villians have done wrong in some cases or in others just trying to figure out what she is going to do to punish them. Nanno is not a good guy. Nanno is not a bad guy. Nanno is an agent of chaos. An inacter of karma. Nanno is loving her job and seasoning the meat of the wicked to be eaten later. I love this show. One or two episodes were a little flatter then others but over all it was very worth the watch and I would rewatch. Nanno reminds me of Tommi at times but better. I would recommend this show to horror fans and drama justice hounds. Was this review helpful to you?
