An excellent but underrated drama
This isn't just a simple time travel story, it is the story of a man realising that though past cannot be changed, present can be.I started watching this drama expecting the lead role Hao Hui Gui to be trying to change some events in his past that lead him to live such a miserable life in his middle age. As the drama proceeded, I realised, it has a lot deeper meaning for us to learn.
Hao Hui Gui lands in 1998 as a class-teacher of his own past self. This allows him to have an overview of his own life from the viewpoint of a teacher. He started off by doing what anyone would do upon meeting his past self; trying to protect him (Liu Da Zhi) from every difficulties he faced in the past but gradually starts being strict on Liu Da Zhi to guide him to the right path. He never enjoyed being a professor in the present but being a teacher to himself and his classmates, he actually starts liking his job.
He tries to change several bad events in his life but only ends up realising that those things will still happen. Hao Hui Gui is more than just a school teacher for Liu Da Zhi and his friends; he guides them in taking important decisions of life, overcoming difficulties and emotional turmoil and even in friendship. Now that he is grown up, he knows what immature mistakes he made as a teenager than weakened the friendship between him and his friends even in present day.
It is a slow paced drama where some parts may seem boring but are essential to understand the emotional condition of all the characters.
To conclude, I would say this drama taught the lead role and me to cherish every moment of life and learn from bad experiences rather than just regretting. This drama also reminds us that friends need to be there for each other in tough times. Another major teaching of this drama is that we should express our feelings or it might be too late.
This is a highly underrated drama. I hope more and more people watch it to make it more successful. It is indeed a lot more than just a time-travel fantasy but story revolving around friendship and changing relationships.

This drama is seriously good. It's more of a slice of life drama, with vibes similar to that of Korean's reply series. I would never compare this drama to any others because the feelings this drama gave me compared to others with similar plots were completely different. This wasn't a rom com, nor abt timetravelling, this was more on friendships, regrets and relationships between every character surrounding the male lead. Though I still question what was the point in main lead going back to the past, I still loved this drama a lot.
It is very slow paced and focuses on relationship building rather than moving the story forward so some might find it slow or boring. But to me, this drama taught me a lot of life lessons. Sometimes, you just don't understand what is happening around you unless you are looking at it from a third POV or when someone tells you about it in the future. This is how the main lead realises that a lot of things he thought he knew in the past were actually not really the case when he looked at it from the POV of a teacher's, watching himself and his friends slowly change.
Lastly, it taught me how important friendships are and how to treasure them. Saying goodbye is never easy, but something you can't avoid as life goes on. T . T
I hope everyone will give this drama a try. Like I said, it's slow, but worth the watch. Don't go in with expectations from other time travelling dramas because only the start is similar, but the focus on this drama is not the rom com nor timetravelling but the relationships.

We cant rewrite our past but can improvise it
First thing i want to say is that , this drama reminds me of myself how i used to joke around with my friends and teachers . Well, i wasnt a troublemaker but still i had a feeling of my school days which were actually the best days of my life.STORY: the story mainly deals with a teacher and a groups of friends and it shows how they became close and was there for every sad and happy moments. The male protogonist travels to past and became a teacher of he himself in past ie., during the year when he was 17 year old. The teacher himself understand the value of teacher and learns a lot during this process. The students too will realisethe value of teacher and the value of frienship.
CHARACTERS: Well, i have nothing much to say, they are all amazing . They were the best to have in a team. There were problems among them but they tried to solve them , which helped them to improve their relationship.
In short, I LOVED IT. It was actually my cup of tea. TBH , i wasnt sure if this was good , but know after watching , i fell that my school days were really an amazing part of my life.
And yes , the male protagonist from future wont change anything in his past but he improvises his past which actually happens to be a parallel dimension. And also he learns to face himself and lastly its a HAPPY ENDING.

A Must Watch Series
This is one hell of a roller coaster. I really like it, it has all the emotion you'll need. Heaven knows how many times I cry in single episode, mind you, I haven't shed tears that much to any other series. This is golden, I love the story, you know as it gets nearer to the end, I thought Hao Huigui will disappear and be Lui Dazhi, you know the future getting rewritten. But it seems like he had made a new timeline and I am very satisfied with it, I also like it that they still remember him in the end, I kinda wanna know how they would react when Lui Dazhi grow up and find out that he looks like Hao Huigui XDAnyway, I'm so happy I came across this series, it also taught me a
lot of life lessons and that youth is the stage in our life that is very important in shaping our future.
This is a must watch, quickly put it in your watchlist, you won't regret it, they put some behind the scenes in the end and you can really see how musch talent and effort the cast had put to it.

Masterpiece!
Some 15 years ago, that masterpiece going by the name of "1 lt. no Namida" got me hooked on J-dramas. And now, after all those years of strict japanophile observance (in which I've watched about 250 J-dramas), I've got the strong feeling that this masterpiece going by the name of "Waiting For You in the Future" will definitely get me hooked on C-dramas! Such a strong impression it has left me with! ^__________^And how could it have been otherwise? Everything here is absolutely top notch!
Coming from J-dramas, which normally (of course, apart from asadora and taiga dorama) consist of 3 to 12 episodes, I must confess all my initial skepticism, when I started this drama made of 36 episodes of around 50' each (we're talking of 3/4 of an asadora!). But my hat goes off to the writer(s), 'cause not a single episode felt draggy or redundant!
The premise is very interesting (matter of fact, I've discovered this drama precisely 'cause I was looking for something similar to the J-drama "High Position" which I really loved) but, as my fellow reviewers already so aptly pointed out, this is much, much more than a mere time-travel story: it's about life, friendship, love, and it portrays an inspirational, life-changing path of personal growth. All filled with beautifully written characters who are so endearing that, by the end of the drama, you feel like you've just said goodbye to a bunch of friends!
Let me also spend some words about the acting: of course each country, each different culture has its peculiarities when it comes to acting styles (for example, Italian actors act similarly to French or Spanish ones, but pretty differently than, say, Brits or Scandinavians). I distinctly remember that when I had started watching J-dramas, at first I couldn't help but notice the different acting style, though I soon got used to it and now I must confess I find the Japanese acting style much more to my liking than, say, the "hollywoodian" one. Regarding the Chinese acting style, I had already watched a few Chinese movies, so I wasn't totally unfamiliar with it; as a result, adapting to it was totally effortless. And the whole cast does a superb job in this production, seriously! Particular praises go to Li Guang Jie, Fei Qi Ming, Sun Qian, Xu Jie aka Jelly and Zhang Zhi Lu, but they all did wel, really!
Praiseworthy are of course also the direction and the photography, both at a definitely higher level than those of most Japanese productions, I'll have to admit!
Last but definitely not least, the OST is simply fabulous. The score is always perfect for enhancing the viewers' experience, and the songs are really beautiful ! Honorable mention for the lovely "Sanctuary"!
Summing it all up, a perfect 10 in my book! Instant top5 of all times, as far as I'm concerned. I loved every single minute of it!

Maybe I underestimated this film beforeYou can say that this drama detailed not very good, and some scene don't match the preview of the previous eps, and it's like forgot to add it in the next episode(part ding dang & teacher hao eps 21,preview ep 20)
But the feeling given is very full,,emotional ,warmheart ,, i enjoy it ,,make me cry and smile
At the beginning of the drama, I was a bit bored, but later on, the more exciting, the story is very realistic, about one chance to make up for past regrets, friendships, youth that we will always remember at that time,, the actions taken are very funny (light comedy) and unexpected and the dialogue is also very artistic, and the OST very nice
But i have some question to ask
1. What is chen tong secret? What he said to weixiao in last eps
2. what is liu da zhi want to ask when he give concert ticket? Last
