Very light romantic comedy that will send butterflies to your stomach

I haven't watched Goblin yet but when I see Lee DongWook and Yoo InNa together they look like they have a good chemistry on screen so I decided to give this a try. I wasn't disappointed because aside from those occassional bursts of laughter from me, they really did send me sparks and romance between them. The story overall feels neutral, although there are some 'law' stories going on, it doesn't really delve into that category that much. It mostly kept the romantic comedy vibe. It's not bad yet it's not that impressive.

I'm just glad that they made the character less annoying than usual k-dramas. Most of the k-dramas I've watched is a grumpy leading man who fell in love and became a nice guy but in this one they created a male lead who's stern but knows how to apologize when needed and acknowledges his own actions then eventually became a sweet guy (at least in his own little ways). Then we have a female lead who's an actress who's not dumb. Terrible at acting (not referring to InNa because she's great, I'm just describing her character) but is really doing her best in whatever she does which actually impressed me. Their secret office romance is so cute that it just gives off a smile on my face as I'm watching it. The side romances from the supporting characters is also cute and funny.

Maybe the best thing I could take from this series is the OST. Good Night by Jeong Sewoon and What if Love by Wendy is definitely staying on my playlist. I've been listening to these songs for days on repeat and I just can't get enough.

This is one of the classics I think. Not super hype but something really worth the watch.

I'm giving this a 10/10, because I loved watching this from beginning to end, perhaps with the exception of e13.
With that said objectively this is quite bad. We could give it an award for "the most cheesy lines ever", I mean really it's insane how bad the script is. I guess you could say that this is the ultimate guilty pleasure, because I know that it's bad and yet I couldn't hate it for a second. As a huge fan of Goblin I love Inna & Dong Wook, but their acting in TYH is the worst it has ever been. Inna is an amazing actress, she's been awesome in everything before, including variety TV, but I think this cheesy character was too far outside her comfort zone. Their chemistry wasn't nearly as good as in Goblin either, I don't know, it just felt off. Honestly I don't even understand myself why I liked this so much, I mean it's so cheesy at times that it causes physical pain. I guess the feeling is not entirely dissimilar, when I listen to that "We Built This City" cover that came on in Grey's Anatomy that one time. Perhaps I'm just shallow & I just enjoy everything my favorite idols appear in??? (this would be a first for me)
They had to drop the stalker ark prematurely, because of real events in Korea, but I did not mind really. I mean sure it's sad that they had to scrap the script from episode 13 onward, but it might have turned out more entertaining this way. I imagine that originally the second lead couple was meant to fight alongside JungRok vs. the stalker guy and that was the whole point of their story, to make the legal proceedings more interesting and fun in the last episodes, but I think the melodrama all of this meant to cause could have ruined the show for me, I don't know. I liked the ending a lot, the last episode was especially nice, despite the heavy product placements. (eating Subway sandwiches, while charging a Samsung phone with yet another Samsung phone!)

Caricatures and Stereotypes

There is nothing new in the story whatsoever - no surprises, no cute or interesting deviations from the tired tropes we see in so many other romcoms. This show is what it looks like when writers "phone it in" instead of actually writing.

On the upside, there is some reasonably good and entertaining acting, far better than the script deserved. Unlike other reviewers, I don't think that either the ML or FL gave good performances. ML looked either wooden or like he was forcing himself to look less wooden and not succeeding. FL was a travesty - everything she put in her mouth got the exact same squee of delight, whether it was soup, coffee, or a carrot stick, or if it was a gift of some sort. Her acting was amateurish and painful to watch. The secondary characters, however, were vastly entertaining - the boss who is so hammy and chewed the scenery so flamboyantly, and the second male attorney and female attorney were worth watching, just for their masterful comedic skills. A gentle attraction portrayed with care between tertiary characters was a breath of fresh air as well.

The music was repetitive and therefore annoying, Sadly, and somewhat grimly, there was so much obvious plastic surgery/cosmetic procedures on display that it was distracting and depressing. For just one example, look at the FL's lips in the first several episodes and then look at them in the last episode. And the show spectacularly failed the Bechdel test, which is a hot button for me - seeing as the concept of women only talking about men with each other is so unrealistic as to be nauseating as well as insulting.

Sorry but it was so boring

Usually, I dont use to write bad things about dramas but well, lets be objetive right now.

Knowing this drama was about to be airing made me feel really excited, people whom watched Goblin know how meaningful both of main characters appearing in this drama are, we think of their characters like a sequel from their old characters, but I've tried to finish this drama for YEARS and I just cant. The story development is SO slow and even if the cast is amazing I can't stand it, hoping one day I could finish it, but for now Im dropping it .

Started Off Good But Fell Flat

I really liked this drama in the beginning. I didn’t think it would capture my interest but was surprised when I started binge watching it. I liked seeing Yoo In-na and Lee Dong-wook together again after Goblin, which I really enjoyed, but around episode 12 I just suddenly lost all interest.

What I Liked

I really loved their chemistry. Kwon Jung Rok’s serious, mostly unsmiling demeanor was a good contrast to Oh Yoon Seo’s upbeat, cheerful personality. I thought the pacing was decent, how they butted heads in the beginning but gradually began to understand each other and work around their differences. Some parts were cute and funny, though halfway through it began to wane.

I also liked the other characters and their relationships, especially Choi Yoon Hyuk and Dan Moon Hee. I found them funny and wanted to see where their relationship would go.

Some of the music was nice especially Wendy’s “What If Love” song. I liked it so much I added it to my playlist.

What I Didn’t Like

In the beginning, I liked Yoo In-na’s character. It did seem a little weird that she was so clueless in the first episode but later revealed to have a sharp memory and was smart enough to get into law school. Her character felt more fleshed out after the first episode, which seemed to mislead us into thinking she would be a bubbleheaded celebrity with little to no skills. This wasn’t the case though.

After a while, the consistent repetition of everyone’s obsession with her got really annoying. She was always ‘the universe’s goddess’ and could do no wrong. In the beginning, it was okay because the focus was on her relationship with Rok but as the show went on it became repetitive to the point of irritation and made me like her character less.

We didn’t know Rok hardly at all. In all the 16 episodes, she asked him one personal question about why he became a lawyer and that was it. We did get see a tiny portion of his personal life with his father but that didn’t really add much to the overall storyline. Everything else was about Yoon Seo’s acting life and how to make her happy. It was very lopsided in the end and made me like Rok’s character less because he felt so one-dimensional. I wanted him to be more human and react to things instead of remaining so stiff and nonchalant.

I suddenly didn’t care for the other couples because they all seemed to go in circles. *SPOILER* In the end, Lee Doo Sub didn’t get with Yang Eun Ji and I saw absolutely no point in showing the really slow build-up of their non-relationship. Though I liked Yoon Hyuk and Moon Hee when they finally got together, I was already annoyed with the show and didn’t really care that much.

The first half felt a little more grounded in reality with Yoon Seo’s past coming back to haunt her but it was wrapped up too quickly to be realistic. Her past could have served as a problem for their relationship, which would have been a better reason for Rok to have cold feet, but instead this was brushed aside. I felt the show didn’t know whether to be a law/police drama or rom-com. I admit the law/police part wasn’t bad and I was interested to see how it would play out but later it fell into the usual rom-com formula where everything leads to sunshine and rainbows.

Is it Worth a Rewatch?

Only the first half, I would say. It should have been 4 or 5 episodes shorter because the latter half felt forced and a problem was created that had no real meaning, especially because we knew how it would end. I guess I got too invested hoping for more characterization but in the end, it was a rom-com, and they don’t really need strong storylines, just your standard love story. In the end, it was entertaining, and I would rewatch Jung Rok and Yoon Seo’s best scenes but I wouldn’t rewatch it as a whole again.

If you like Lee Dong Wook & Jo In-na and can overlook a mostly average storyline then you might enjoy it.

Story: Basically average overall but still good. A celebrity tries to regain her fame after hard times so she does what her company tells her to do by working as a secretary in a law firm with the male lead as a cold hearted lawyer, both eventually falls in love with each other. Nothing special here but still enjoyable. If you're looking for a villain free drama, this is your drama, well almost villain free but even then, the writers didn't make much of a big deal with this villain though as you watch, you could see how this drama could've gone in another direction story wise.

Acting/Cast: I was kinda biased already because they were my Goblin side couple but they lived up to their expectation. I just love the goofiness of each character in this drama. There's never a dull moment within every character, lead & support wise. Plus, there's strong chemistry between the leads (no surprise here). It just makes me smile so much my cheeks hurt from all of their cuteness.

Music: Great osts however only one song was memorable to me and they didn't play it as much towards the end of the drama series which is a bummer.

Rewatch: I may not rewatch it anytime soon but it is a drama I will consider on watching again just because it doesn't stress me out or get me all fired up.

Most boring story ever

I never drop a drama even if it's the worst, but I literally agonized during each and every episode.

The writers forgot to write a personality to Yoonseo. I'm amazed by how these superior actors and actresses played these boring and one-sided characters.
I felt like they too were struggling because there's so much talent that went to waste.
This drama is officially the 2nd worst I've ever seen and now I need to find every other role of the leads to convince myself that they truly capable of so so so much more.
I added 2,5 stars ONLY for the Choi-Dan couple they carried the only interesting story line.

At the start when Yoon Seo tried to join the law firm Jung Rok worked at

DISLIKE

The plot is boring after a while - I had high expectation since Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na were so good together in Goblin

I guess it is always the story that brings out chemistry between a couple

MUSIC - personal fav

What If Love - Wendy

A disservice to leads otherwise good acting abilities

I hate not finishing a series once I start, but the way I struggled to finish this, good grief 🥴
I loved them in Goblin and thought they had great chemistry, but this show is.not.it.
It's a shame because I actually liked the story and it felt somewhat real, but Oh Yun Seo comes across as this innocent, perfect 15yr old with no substance which is wild since she does seem mature and intelligent at times. I have no clue what went wrong with Lee dong wook's character Jung rock, I've seen him pull off cold and emotionless before and with praise, but for whatever reason they did not click at all for me.
The jarring contrast between what seems like middle school crush interactions one moment and serious, life altering murder convictions the next felt completely out of place.
The writing is atrocious and leads acting felt severely subpar to the other shows I've seen them in. Oh Jung Se was fantastic as usual, and brief Jang ki yong's visuals helped but this was overall a complete waste of time for me and would not recommend.

Sadly enough this drama does not touch my heart

I was intrigued by this drama after seeing a few people raving about this drama on reddit. I started this series in August 2024 as I remember watching it during my trip to Seoul. I only completed this series in early December 2024. I struggled a lot. I pushed myself to finish this series after watching another series that I put on hold but resumed and finished.

What I liked:
1) Supporting characters - I really like the camaraderie amongst Always employees. At first, I thought they would be competing with each other since it's a cutthroat business. However they had a harmonious relationship, which I appreciate. I also like Yoon Seo's manager and boss.
2) Acting - Great performances from the cast even from those with underdeveloped roles. Park Kyung Hye was brilliant in her role as she managed to convey different emotions of Dan Moon Hee. She made me laughed in one scene and almost cry in different scene.
3) Thriller - I like the dark arc the most e.g, the stalking, the murder case.
4) Shim Hyung Tak - Wow he is handsome. Anyway he has the best lines in the series. My favourite scene of his is during his analogy of rose and vase. Poetic and hilarious!

What I disliked:
1) Yoo In Na's voice - This is my first drama of Yoo In Na. When I write review, I don't judge an actor or actress physical attributes but I'm sorry that I cannot stand her childlike voice. I have no issues with Yoon Seo characterisation because she grew a lot throughout the series.
2) Writing - I feel like the writing is uneven. The stalking and murder cases were exciting and engaging but once we get the office and dating scenes, this drama wasn't enjoyable. I fast-forwarded to 2x speed after episode 11. I think Touch Your Heart had too much filler scenes and this series should only have 12 episodes instead of 16 episodes.

Favourite scene
Dan Moon Hee talking about her crush who has no feelings for her. Heartbreaking.

I watched this right after watching Goblin, and I personally find that this drama is the perfect drama to watch after Goblin because I found it very healing, as if this was another one of their lives. I love the leads, their chemistry is amazing, and I think that the actors were well-casted. The plot of the drama is very cute and fluffy, so if you want to watch a drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat, this drama isn't for you. I enjoyed the plot and also how the ending was handled. The OST is very nice as well, and I added some of the songs to my playlist.

TLDR, this is a fluffy and cute drama, and I think that if you want to watch a drama that is healing after Goblin, this is the perfect drama for you to watch.

It's great in what it's trying to do. Love it.

This is a fun, light drama. I watched this because I got tired of watching sad, emotionally-draining shows.

Personally, I didn't watch Goblin so I wasn't acquainted with the actors before I began watching Touch Your Heart. But the chemistry they had in this drama is very palpable to me and I loved both of their characters. It wasn't trying to be a deep, introspective drama, just a simple fluffy watch with enough plot to keep things going. Oh Jung-se was hilarious in this, too. I love how they gave each character enough depth for us to get attached, but not too much that it'd be a sappy melodramatic back story. Jung-rok and Jin-shim's relationship is another example of a well-written, super healthy relationship. Love that for them.

The OST freakin' slaps, too. When I watched it, I found the pacing to be good. I tried rewatching it and it didn't drag on, it's still good.

Overall, I love this drama . They also all got nice endings, so that's a win. Would recommend!

(This is just my opinion, no one's obligated to care about it. I just needed to talk about dramas somewhere :')
