Not Everyone Film

First, the cinematography in this film is very good and beautiful. there is a touch of a polaroid photo as a highlight "important scene" (polaroid makes the scene more dramatic and gorgeous). For shooting the scene in my opinion is very good.

The plot brought in this film raises social issues about modernization that often occurs in big cities, many millennials are familiar with sexual activities in young ages (in this film, high school children are depicted), then a child is confused about what kind of family she family is (because in this film it is described as complex past of Narita Hatsumi's parents, Tachibana Ryoki, and Odagiri Azusa). The pace in this film is just right, but there are some scenes that have a fast pace, so if you use subtitles, sometimes you have to repeat a bit.

The theme of this film is quite interesting but the execution is not execute well enough because there are several scenes that will confuse the audience without a clear explanation. Like the scene when Tachibana Ryoki saw the X-ray of the baby that was given to him and then Tachibana told Hatsumi, but Hatsumi left Tachibana there. Then why Hatsumi's brother, Narita Shinogu, wants to sleep with Hatsumi even though he wants to protect her is also not well described, as a result the audience is also confused. Furthermore, Akane's role and her relationship with Subaru are also not well described as to what kind of reason they like each other. The last role of Hatsumi's father at the end of this film for what? is still confusing.

Fortunately, in my opinion the cast in this film is quite good, Hori Miona as Hatsumi is the right choice of MC because her personality of a Hatsumi who is innocent and still easily influenced by others is well described. Shimizu Hiroya as Tachibana is also appropriate because he describes the personality of Tachibana who is ambitious and serious but has a good side. As well as other casts are also appropriate in my opinion.

Music in this film is quite okay but not perfect, but for the OST of this film, which is presented by KAF, “Yoru ga Furiyamu” is quite well combined with the Tokyo landscape at the end of the scene.

Verdict,
This film would be even better if it was made into a drama with 7-12 episodes because in this film there are several scenes that are not clear how and the reason why that happened. Character development in this film, only the character of Hatsumi which is well described (the transition from an innocent girl to someone who is more determined and mature), while the other characters are not well described.
I would recommend this film to people who want to see a simple love story and good cinematography but can't expect more in terms of plot and pace, because in my opinion, this film is less than perfect, it can be seen from the pace which is quite fast so the plot presented is a little messy.

N.B. This film also tells us that now with the advancement of technology, the younger generation is no longer taboo about sex and other things. One of the positive values of this film is, it can also teach adults people too understand and not to be taboo about sex activities to their teen and should tell them how Do's and Don't, so that the younger generation is more educated and not trapped in having children at a young age and early marriage .

Why God, WHY???????

This is a film that can only be enjoyed by people who hate movies and/or life.

Everyone in this film hates thenselves and everybody else.

Nobody in this show appears to know that hairdressers exist, and that you can give them money and they can make your hair look nice. The male kead does not appear to know that shampoo exists, either.

Do yourself a favour and go and watch your dog lay a turd instead of subjecting your eyeballs to this mess. If for some reason you do feel compelled to watch it, DO NOT play the drinking game where you have to take a shot every time you question your sanity for watching it - you will be plastered 20 minutes in, and may end up hospitalised for alcohol poisoning if you make it to the end of the film.

To be honest, I’ve read the whole manga series, and the storyline is a bit... how should I say this... Some of the things that happening the manga are kinda very “rapey” BUT other than that great manga. So I was nervous and excited for this live action movie.
I must say I’m a bit disappointed, it’s NOT terrible, I think this would of worked better as a Series cuz I feel they have mushed it all together into a movie (yes I know most live actions are movies). Idk I just wasn’t feeling this movie at all or the characters like how they were in the manga. Some major things in the manga were not in the movie (those who have read manga know what I’m talking about) if your a Hot Gimmick fan give the movie a shot but you most likely won’t love it. The actors weren’t bad at all if I may say that.

Nani? What Did I just Watch

You know when a story belongs in a Manga and ONLY a Manga? This is one of those scenarios where a story should STAY in a Manga.

The camera angles were horrible (motion sickness to no end) and a few of it was recorded on a phone? The music was unbearably out of place (it was funny at first). I could hardly keep up with what was happening as there was little to no context. Too much talking with little to no meaning. On the plus I spent a good amount of time laughing at how lost I was.

I am still lost...

GOOD LUCK FELLOW WATCHERS, you won't be getting your 2 hours back.

This movie had so much going on and tried to back it up by making it "edgy".
It starts off with a solid plot: girl becomes personal servant of childhood bully, crush moves back into the apartment complex. But then they throw in a weird subplot with the sister and Subaru, who was pretty much useless. A lot of NOTHING happens in this movie. Things start and end, no middle. The actors lacked chemistry and there was no consistency or depth to the plot. The dynamic between the leads was ok, but they barely go into them enough to sense the connection between them until the end when they run together, confessing all their thoughts which isn't enough. The music is a bit inappropriate and makes it hard to take scenes seriously. But it adds to the overall "crazy becoming" vibe. The cinematography was cool. I like the unconventional editing, but it may not be for everyone. This plot and its subplot had potential, and they lost it. The girl was different from the manga, she wasn't ran all over and plain stupid and quiet like in the movie, but actually a bit humorous. This movie could have been a solid 7 but it was carried out so poorly, I'm being generous giving it a near 5.

Hot Gimmick: Girl Meets Boy (2019) is adapted from the manga series “Hot Gimmick” by Miki Aihara.

When Hatsumi gives a pregnancy test to her sister Akane who is being late on her period she gets caught by her neighbor Ryoki. Ryoki Tachibana decides to make a deal with Hatsumi; he’ll keep the whole matter a secret in exchange of the girl becoming his personal slave.

Azusa, Hatsumi’s childhood friend who used to live in the same building, suddenly returns to his old apartment to live with his father. Spotting Hatsumi’s problem with Tachibana he takes her side to safeguard her.

“For the first time in my life, I’ve become stupid.” Well, that’s my line after watching this movie. Why?

Let’s start from the characters.

Hatsumi is presented as an irritatingly slow protagonist, typical of romance-themed Jmovies, who lets Tachibana to freely blackmail her.

Tachibana appears to be a rude narcissist who used to bully Hatsumi as a kid and uses insults and mean ways to state what he thinks about the girl. The approach is wrong but the given message is not. She has no personality of her own and lets to be deceived by other people’s behaviors, ending up running in circles in search of herself.

Didn’t like the acting of the two guys, it results too forced and flimsy, typical of romance-themed Jmovies. #2
Their parts are carried through in a way too dramatic way.

Visually pleasing film, still found quite difficult following properly at some points as the scenes got constant zooming in, creating a trailer-like effect.
The plot overall was quite intricate creating a bit of confusion and leaving me with the following question: “What was the story again?“.

Can’t say I got bored while watching this, still not recommending it due to previously listed points that bothered me too much. Again, I didn’t expect too much from this movie having discovered it through Netflix.

I've been recently craving to watch a Japanese drama/movie and this movie came on my recommendation so I decided to watch it.
The movie was confusing for me, I couldn't really understand the point n story... at some part I do.. but mostly not...
I guess the main point was big..but ...it was rushed. I just searched it up but it was too long ahha
But I guess the moral lesson of this movie is to be yourself, don't let others control you and follow your heart.
I was kinda scared to watch this movie because there's 3 guys..and you know what that means... SECOND-THIRD SYNDROME. AHHA. I felt bad for the older brother but....ykow...yadiyada. I find him cute too <3
bUT iDon't know. I think making this into a drama will be better since it was a bit rush and some part was boring.
But it's okay.
the plot was okay tho.. This is my personal opinion!. Feel free to watch it still tho.
