In a smaller, more rural part of Korea, a girl and her family move there after an unfortunate series of events. They end up under the wrath of something worse than a church with the young daughter in the forefront. We follow her journey of struggle and escape. Seo Ye Ji's acting was amazing. I wish they had elaborated more on their family's past life in Seoul, specifically the brother. The humor between the cop and his son is very heartwarming to see. I felt like they started off with a hint of tension of romance but completely forgot all about it towards the ending, but it didn't take much of the plot so that was ok but it was still disappointing. My first dark drama, I would say a solid 7, but 8 if being generous :)

Fast Paced but nicely executed

In Seo-Bok, the namely main character only knows his mom, and the lab he was made in as a clone of course. As the second main lead portrayed by Gong Yoo does not have much time to live, and he is technically immortal, through the lens of each other, they figure out the meaning of life, death, and maybe sleep :)

Bo Gum's acting was so great with the balance of puppy eyes and anger. For this reason, I believe the plot could have been taken further and the movie could have been longer and still enjoyable. The matching of him and Gong-yoo was delightful, so I do wish they included a bit more lighthearted, comedic scenes, but the meaningful conversations will suffice.
The use of music felt a bit excessive at times, making things feel quiet and slow and I felt like it took up too much of the movie. I also feel that a different, more joyful ending could have taken place since we don't know the path Gong-Yoo will take from here. All in all, this movie could have been taken further, but it was executed amazingly nonetheless.

This is a senseless, almost feel-good movie

Not much happens. Your regular immature near adult girl goes to a camp to learn more about tuna. She dorms with a girl who on the contrast is serious, and two other basic guys. She ends up on a team with a second year grad. There is a lot of actual facts on tuna and other fish so I did like the incorporation and realism. The main guy is pretty much useless, barely speaks and has subpar acting. The description teasing at romance is a lie. No chemistry just tuna, crying, laughter, stupidity. Oh! and more tuna. This is something you watch while eating since it doesn't require a lot. Objectively, this is a terrible movie, and wouldn't rate higher than 1, but I was generous since it kept me occupied.

Nothing new BUT WELL EXECUTED

Girl's Revenge tells the story of Yun-Heng who travels to a new school and becomes friends with Ren Li-Chia and her other (2) friends.

Of course there is an undercover mean girl per usual for movies of this premise. Now, the premise, or should I just say plot. It is nothing new, however, it was portrayed both accurately and beautifully, nothing too fancy. It covers bullying, social media and its role in bullying, friendship, self reflection, sexual assault, and touches on gayness a bit. There is also a little romance subplot that pretty much goes nowhere when it could have, but the movie did fine without so I won't take too much points off. The use of songs are as good as it get with a movie that has recycled the bullying and assault plot. The acting isn't the greatest as the crying and interactions were a bit awkward, but it adds to the growing pains people of their age feels and captures that high school feeling well

Overall for me, it was nothing special so I give it a 7, but this is not to say it wasn't enjoyable, just your all around GOOD movie. It may bore some, but in the end, I have to recommend.

SO AMAZING IT WAS BANNED

Bai Luo Yin's mom marries to Gu Hai's father. Both of them are disconnected from the parent as they feel a sense of betrayal from previous circumstances. Gu Hai antagonizes BLY during class but finds a way to get closer into his heart. Gu Hai refuses to go home as BLY's mom moves into the home, so he moves in with BLY, his father and his grandmother. This is where the amazing chemistry of the whole cast is displayed. BLY's careless, more so naive father immediately accepts Gu Hai as one of his own as he is sweet in his own way. At first the acting of BLY and GH is a bit cringe but still convincing. This awkwardness helps the show be even more realistic as they are still figuring themselves and their family situations out. It really does feel like you're watching a great friendship/romance of 2 boys develop in real time. The side characters are a great addition and makes you want more. Yang Meng and You Qi's interactions were beginning to get more intense, but we can never see it in full as it was banned before the rest of the episodes can come out. The slight comedic value Yang Meng has due to him being so pretty makes the show a bit more lighthearted. The cast and their acting made the story so much better and realistic. The OST is really soothing, like you are looking up at the night sky with a loved one, which BLY and Gu Hai does at least twice on the roof, making it all the more better. The show starts to feel a bit slow and gray from episodes 9-13 but it is still a plot builder nonetheless. All in all, this show will make you laugh, smile and feel like you've seen 2 loved ones and their family grow together for the better, a decent watch.

It is worth the watch!

Story - 8.5 : I give the story an 8.5 because the love triangle that bloomed was calm and reasonable throughout the story so I enjoyed how they didn't overdo it. Some people might find that the show is a bit slow and "quiet" so that also took the rating down a notch. However everything comes together well and it is really endearing, including the side characters, especially the feisty girl and "dorky" best friends. We get to see all their growth as the love develops and I really enjoyed that leading me to re-watch it again. Also Xiaoxi's story/character is very well done, she's ditsy but not completely dumb and submissive like we tend to see in these unrequited love stories. She stands up for herself, has common sense, humor and is a good friend and understanding. She isn't book smart, but she has the kind of intelligence that brightens the room and cheers up the people around her, making everyone more involved which definitely amped the story up .

Acting/Cast - the height difference really tops the story off and contributes a lot. The characters look perfect for their roles. However, it was taken down a notch because as the love started to develop and it was no longer unrequited, the male lead, Jiang Chen kind of sucked at showing any emotion. He was really good at being stoic, but he didn't really look in love or happy at times, it wasn't convincing enough.

Music - the happy go lucky, on the calmer side soundtrack is fitting for the story, not enough to make you dance or really get into it though.

Rewatch value - because the story goes a bit slow, unless you feel connected to the characters and story it may be a bit too boring for a rewatch.

This movie had so much going on and tried to back it up by making it "edgy".
It starts off with a solid plot: girl becomes personal servant of childhood bully, crush moves back into the apartment complex. But then they throw in a weird subplot with the sister and Subaru, who was pretty much useless. A lot of NOTHING happens in this movie. Things start and end, no middle. The actors lacked chemistry and there was no consistency or depth to the plot. The dynamic between the leads was ok, but they barely go into them enough to sense the connection between them until the end when they run together, confessing all their thoughts which isn't enough. The music is a bit inappropriate and makes it hard to take scenes seriously. But it adds to the overall "crazy becoming" vibe. The cinematography was cool. I like the unconventional editing, but it may not be for everyone. This plot and its subplot had potential, and they lost it. The girl was different from the manga, she wasn't ran all over and plain stupid and quiet like in the movie, but actually a bit humorous. This movie could have been a solid 7 but it was carried out so poorly, I'm being generous giving it a near 5.
