FORGET THEM NOT!

Just when you thought you finally moved on from the heartache of not seeing these love teams, GMMTV gave us this series to make us crazy over these guys, all over again.

The whole series is essentially a look at what our favorite couples have been doing years after their original series ended, banking on nostalgia for viewers' pleasure. Each episodes are all well made and is more like a movie rather than a series.

What I love is some of the episodes actually gave us closure to some of the couples' stories. In fact, we can argue that some of the episodes are maybe better than their parent series. It is very evident that these pairings are comfortable with each other, and they all look like they are enjoying themselves - they set the gold standard for their dedication and fan service.

Just a reminder, no, you cant watch this without watching their respective series. I didnt exactly love all of the original series, but I did love all these 5 couples in them, so watch them first, then top it all up with this.

What i hate about the series is it made me long for these couples once again, I thought i was over missing them and then here they are being cute and all, and after an hour i have to face the withrawal syndrome of not seeing them in these characters once again. I just hope they made each episodes longer maybe 2 hours each. Yes, I know I want more, and I know Im selfish.

STORY
================
Episode 1 shows that one can not judge a person not unless you have walked in his/her shoes. And this specific episode, took it in the literal sense which made them both appreciate the sacrifices they had to make just for the other.

Episode 2 shows that you should not wait for a potential rival to profess your love to someone. If you feel it, say it, show it and be true to what you feel.

Episode 3 shows that it is not good to test your partner specially if you are not ready to accept the result or you might regret it.

Episode 4 shows that being "in" a relationship is not always enough. You need to spend time together, experience things together and do not take your partner for granted.

Episode 5 solidifies the concept of if it is meant to be, it will happen and will end up together. To stop worrying and be with the person you hold close to your heart every waking moment because who knows, you might wake up without your partner by your side.

It is nice for GMMTV's approach about this special. They made it in a way that it is can stand alone with little reference to the series where their respective relationship started for Episode 1-4. And I am not really surprise that they did an extensive flashback on Episode 5. After all, among the 5 series here, it is SOTUS that is most successful, beloved and widely recognize.

However, for episodes 1-4, one can appreciate the story even more if they have watched what each couple went through. What they went through and it feels that their pairing will end in this. For episode 5, it was a clever move so viewers who like to rewatch SOTUS, or watch it for the first time. I know it moved me to watch it again. GMMTV made it in a way to tease the viewer.

I have this sense of accomplishment, a closure if I may say so, as far as their respective relationships is concern and it is hard to see if it is going to anything else other than how each episode ended. What I am trying to say, it is the end of the road for their relationships as it ended happily. Except of course for Pete and Kao as they will renew their respective roles in Dark Blue Kiss.

ACTING
================
Episode 1:
Off - I have always seen him as the goofy not serious, the clown of the gang. So when he played the role as Rome, it was nothing short of my expectations. He transitioned quite seamlessly.

Gun - I must admit, Gun have his work cut out for him. Knowing in the series I have seen him, Puppy Honey and The Gifted, I see him as the serious type guy and taking on a role as Pick will be hard for him as it demands to be more relaxed, not up-tight, joyful and full of confidence. In his episode, I felt that there was some instances that he needs to loosen up a bit but did not quite fulfill my expectations.

Episode 2:
Chimon - Seen how he improved his acting from My Dear Loser to The Gifted, which is the opposite ends of the spectrum. As Sun, he is the reserved, shy, ever polite kid, weak and vulnerable. And as Wave, he is the determined, confident and projects an antagonist aura quite well. And his role as the young Pana in Happy Birthday, which I see him as the loyal friend where you could actually seem him happy. I knew then that he is a versatile actor that can take any role that is given to him. He played Sun in this special with confidence, stares at In is believeable, retains his sweet and vulnerability and his happy smile is quite genuine too.

Pluem - Started as In in My Dear Loser, one can easily see that he can be bossy and the next, a defender of the weak. Playing as Tonmai in Happy Birthday, I saw him cries quite well too as it shows that he can be vulnerable. As he reprise his role in this special, the character needs to be with a degree of assertiveness and at the same time scared. Nothing to say other than praises for his acting here.

Episode 3:
Frank - The biggest improvement among the 10 main characters here as he was able to show that he is more relaxed, can respond appropriately, receptive of Frank's sweetness. Unlike in My Tee/Cause Your My Boy, you can clearly see him thinking what to say or act next; not to mention when Frank kisses him, it was a stiff reaction for me.

Drake - I have always seen this guy as the bold/daring one. A big transition from his role in Slam Dance to My Tee/Cause Your My Boy. In this special he is more affectionate towards Frank and more natural and not forced.

I could see these two to be in a Romantic-Comedy theme series. And they can definitely pull it off.

Episode 4:
New - In all the series I watched with him in it (SOTUS, Water Boyy the series and Kiss Me Again), you can tell that he is good being as the underdog, can be easily boss around, unsure of himself. Meanwhile, as he renew his role as Kao, you can see him as the puppet master, pulling the strings, bossing Pete around is nothing but extraordinary. Beyond that innocent and sweet face, he was able to project that role quite amazingly.

Tay - who said a boss can't be a follower? Tay showed his vulnerability side in the episode. Like a dog following his master, or should I say, the love of his life. And was able to showcase more of his playful side and not just the up-tight guy.

Episode 5:
This is the episode where I expect for Singto and Krist to be consistent with their acting. And they are! Plus, I see Krist being more comfortable with Singto and his affection towards Singto is much more natural. And did I say he cried better?

SONG
================
Two songs... First Kiss from Episode 3 and the flashback in Episode 5. Brings back memories! Unfortunately for Ep 1, 2 and 4, there is no song that stood out for me.

REWATCH VALUE
================
If you miss the sweetness of one of the couples, you would actually re-watch this. But I have this lingering feeling that only Tee and Mork would have a future series, after all, My Tee/Cause Your My Boy was excellent at the beginning but somehow loses it direction in the middle.

What a great Anthology of special episodes for each of the most beloved BL dramas in Thailand. An excellent way to fill in some plot holes for each of these couples. The creative team/director were smart in the way they divided the episodes for each couple, ending with Kong/Art (arguably one of the most popular ships in BL sphere).

Rating this by episode will be difficult for me, as I have a special place for three of these couples, but what really surprised me the most was the Tee/Mork Episode which I must admit---I stopped watching their drama at episode 6 because it was a total mess---. However, this special episode showed just how much potential these two have in creating a believable relationship. Their plot was cliche as can be, but it was still so well acted.

I will say that all of the episodes had the right balance of romance, angst, conflict and disagreements. It left me asking for more when it was over. I also enjoyed the little easter eggs (such as Puppy Honey being featured in Kiss me again) and how they mentioned things that these actors had done in real life--such as the Japan trip for Tay/New.

Music was good and the rewatch value is also good. I have repeated Kiss me again and Sotus three times already. I'm sure My tee will also be repeated because I just really enjoyed it. What a nice surprise.

Super Fun Watch

I really enjoyed Our Skyy. getting to see the continued stories of these beloved characters was just so much fun.

In order of my favorite episodes: Kongpob and Arthit, Tee and Mork, Pete and Kao, In and Sun, and last but not least Rome and Pick.

Kongpob and Arthit: 9/10

I fell in love with their episode. Krist did an amazing job in this episode. He did such a good job at portraying that hidden emotion behind his eyes when he heard the news. Overall, their story made me actually feel something. Their relationship is so natural and so free that I just can't help but love them so much. My favorite part was the montage of their past series, and when Arthit showed up at the airport. I can't explain how amazing their chemistry is, and I would love to see them in future series.

Tee and Mork: 8/10

I loved the chemistry between them. The small kisses on the head, the hugs; it was just really the small moments that made me loved their relationship the best. We got to see Morn and Gord! Yay! I loved them so much, their friendship is the cutest, and I was happy to see them again. The only downside to this couple is the entire plot. As much as they have the best chemistry, they have the worst communication. Gord was the one that was messaging Tee as a female, in which he thought Mork was cheating on him. If he had just done a bit of communicating, then the whole solution could've been resolved sooner. The band playing for Tee was the cutest thing ever. It was so perfect for the two of them, and the public kiss made it even better.

Pete and Kao: 8/10

The concept of their episode was clever. it was different, and it was a fun watch. It was probably the most comedic episode out of all of them, the fake death was hilarious, but my favorite part had to be them going out and buying a plant. My only problem was that Pete was so mean to Kao. it's like he had this grudge against him, which I guess is part of his personality, but in this episode, it felt to be a bit much. They have been dating for some time now, so it felt off for him to be so grudgey against Kao.

In and Sun: 6/10
I mostly just liked this episode because Mike was in it. I'm always used to seeing Mike as the comedic relief, but in this one, he was so serious, and I couldn't believe it was him for a second. I liked that he was kind of the wingman that was helping Sun try to get back with In. My favorite scene had to be the one in the bed. it was adorable and cute, and I loved it. The only reason I scored this episode so low is that I didn't watch In and Sun, which I think they were in My Dear Loser. I put it on my on-hold list, just because it was a side BL, and I didn't feel like watching the main story.

Rome and Pick: 7/10
As much as I love Off and Gun in literally any series, this episode was my least favorite. First off, I never watched Puppy Honey for the same reason I didn't watch My Dear Loser; I wasn't interested in the main story plot. But this episode was the first, so I thought that it had set the concept for the rest of the episodes to follow, but I was wrong. it was completely different from the rest, and I didn't enjoy it all too much. Them switching bodies was fun, but it became pretty boring. There's just didn't make me feel anything, I didn't care too much for them.

Overall, this was a cute sequel to their stories. I recommend this to anyone that wants to see more of these couples, but also to anyone wanting to watch something that is pretty fun and lighthearted.

[I lost the whole review (the biggest one I had ever written) so I had to write it all over again. I’m not salty AT ALL. Okay, let’s do this.]

I waited all these months to watch this!!! I’m a huge TayNew fan and I had already watched Sotus and started My Tee (I dropped it because it was too confusing though) but I didn’t want to watch it without knowing what the whole PickRome fuss was about. I finally watched Puppy Love earlier this week and I immediately started Our Skyy. I was so surprised by this show and I didn’t think I would love it as much as I did. The only thing I didn’t really notice was the music, for the most part, so I wasn’t sure how to rate it.
Now I’ll review each episode individually and then do an overall rating!

Pickrome
I was not expecting the episode to be this creative! And sooo funny! Wow, such an amazing start. I wonder how the others are going to surpass this one. I was glad I had watched Puppy Love because I went into this episode knowing their dynamic and personalities. I must say they are amazing actors. They really are. Off acting as Rome and Gun as Pick was EVERYTHING. And it was so so so so sweet. I was glad we got this sneak peek into their lives. And hopefully they’ll keep growing together and will understand each other better with time. The chemistry between them is simply amazing. Hopefully they’ll get to act together again in the future! And taynew hdjddicxixjs I screamed when we heard their voices!
Oh well, the plot, the acting, the feels. Everything was there. 9.5/10 for me.

InSun
This was the only couple out of the 5 that I didn’t really know so I didn’t feel nostalgic while watching the episode. It was really sweet and all that jazz but it didn’t make my heart race. But they do have good chemistry and for that I will rate this episode 7.5/10.

TeeMork
Okay, these two. I’m just SPEECHLESS with what I just watched. Honestly, I was not expecting to love this as much as I did. I liked Drake and Frank but My Tee’s plot was so weird that I had to drop it after episode 6. Now I’m thinking of giving it another chance because of how great this was!!! Their chemistry is soooooooooooo good. They are pretty good actors and you can see they’re very comfortable around each other. So so so so sweet, my heart was full of love. The music at the end. MY HEART CANT TAKE THIS. I didn’t think I would enjoy this episode more than PickRome’s but it was very close to surpassing that one. 9.5/10

PeteKao
I have to admit me, a TayNew trash, wanted to watch this show because of PeteKao. The actors and the characters have the same kind of relationship which I find very amusing. I was sad that we didn’t get to see this couple at its full potential in Kiss Me Again. So I was so so so happy when they announced Our Skyy! Even if it’s only one episode, I thought it was better than anything else they’ve ever done. Honestly. This episode was hilarious. The dead body scene had me laughing out loud for a whole five minutes. Their acting has improved, their outstanding chemistry was still there, the PLOT WAS ACTUALLY GOOD AND ENTERTAINING !!!! Of course there was a fight because we can’t leave the makeup artist alone to rest a bit, right? But even that I thought was well done. And even though this couple is probably the most aggressive out of the five, we still got sweet scenes. The fact that Pete knew all along what Kao was doing and still carried that sweet tangerine tree or whatever that was around melted me inside. The whole hold-hands-every-hour was- I have no words. I love these boys so much and I’m so proud of them! Hopefully we’ll get them see together again in the future. 9.5/10

KongpobArthit (or KongArth? I don’t know their ship name, I’m sorry)

Now, this couple for me was the biggest surprise. I watched SOTUS but I haven’t finished the season season (it’s on my on-hold list) and I couldn’t understand why this is so many people’s favorite bl series and couple. I liked the story and I liked them but that was it. They did not blow my mind and I didn’t feel that attached to them.
After watching this, I finally got it. I totally get it why this couple gets all the hype. They are literally so perfect for each other that I can’t even (re)write this review without feeling like I’m going to cry. These characters are such amazing people and the actors are PHENOMENAL actors. The breakup scene blew my mind. It really did. And as I said previously, I did not feel attached to this couple at all. But throughout the episode they were so cute to each other and so couple-like that I ended up crying my eyes out whenever Arthit cried (Arthit crying in the bathroom so that Kongpob wouldn’t see him... HEARTBREAKING). The breakup scene was so well acted that I wondered if I wasn’t seeing a breakup in real life. Krist really did impress me with his acting skills. I already liked Singto a lot so this episode only made me love him. But for Krist... I don’t know why I didn’t really care for him. It’s not like I disliked him but I just didn’t notice how amazing he is as an actor. I will now quote my own tweet: “After watching our skyy I finally understood why everyone loves krist so much. I’m sorry it took me all this time to realize how precious he is. His little laugh is everything. His pure heart. His cute little mouth. Arthit’s love for Kongpob.” Yep, I’m proud of this tweet. Finally fell for these two boys. Their chemistry is just insane. So so so so glad I watched this. I loved this episode so much that I can’t even rate it 10/10. It’s 14/10!

Overall

The plot for each episode was on point. Which surprised me considering the mess GMMTV’s plot lines usually are. I adored every single one of them in their own way. The acting was the best part for me. You can tell they’re all close off-cameras because their chemistry was overwhelming. Honestly, I was not expecting the acting to be this good for some of them. Each couple has its own dynamic and they portrayed it very well. I think these special episodes were probably better than 99% of their scenes in their own series. I was not expecting to love every couple but I did. Oh well, watch me love these boys for the rest of my life.

STORY:
Overall cute, entertaining little one shots featuring some of our favorite GMM-TV guys. The writers give us drama without it getting too heavy or angsty. For the most part, each episode provides either a follow-up/conclusion to what we were given in each respective drama or a side story that takes place at some future time but still following canon. The only story that seemed a little off to me, and *only* when compared to the end of its main drama, was the one with In and Sun. Whereas at the end of Edge of 17, In and Sun had begun a tenuous yet happy relationship, here they seemed to have taken a couple of steps back, and we’re once again rooting for these two to have their happy ending. It’s still a good one shot and still feels authentic in terms of In and Sun’s characters. And, prior ending notwithstanding, it does feel consistent with In’s character (given what we saw throughout Edge of 17). But I think for that episode, you have to put aside the ending to Edge of 17 (or just imagine your own scenario that occurred afterwards that would lead up the events in Our Skyy).

That aside, in all of these episodes, we watch these boys experience thoughtful character development and gain a deeper sense of understanding and appreciation of their partners and relationship. I think it’s this growth that adds to a sense of closure and knowledge that everything will be okay.

ACTING/CAST:
These guys have already proven themselves to be more than capable of delivering great performances, and they brought that same energy and dynamic we’d expect them to bring based on their previous works. I have to really commend Off and Gun who, because of their plot line, had to emulate how the other would act in terms of facial and body language. Both pulled it off impeccably. Frank and Drake (Mork and Tee) were probably my favorite in terms of chemistry (so sweet and naturally affectionate), and Krist brought his signature adorableness as well.

MUSIC:
I love Fluke’s song that I think is only associated with Pick and Rome’s story (??). So catchy. Don’t really have any other standouts, but the music was still enjoyable.

RE-WATCH VALUE:
I don’t typically re-watch dramas unless they are especially compelling. For Our Skyy, I may go back and skim a few episodes when I’m short on something to watch.

OVERALL:
I really enjoyed revisiting these characters and falling in love with them all over again, and I’m sure fans of the original series will feel the same. If you’ve already watched those prequel dramas (which I do recommend doing before embarking on this) then I’m sure you’ll love this as well. Of course I’d recommend! :)

Our Skyy is a gem! It especially appeals to anyone who is a fan of these couples from their previous series, but works just as well for newcomers. This short series--only five episodes--features a different couple in each story.

Because each episode is different, it is tempting to rank them in order of favorites. But I'm not going to do that, as each couple was terrific and, in my opinion, there wasn't a weak link in the whole set. I will say that I was particularly impressed with TeeMork (FrankDrake). Their chemistry is so perfect, their acting so natural, their romance believable. The storyline was great and I felt like was watching a real couple. If they are given another series, I would watch it, definitely.

If you're looking for a feel-good series, this might just be the one for you.

Extremely Satisfying

BL Dramas often have rather anti-climatic endings, presumably to force a sequel. This anthology brings a much more satisfying pause point (I won't say ending) to two of my favorite dramas: "'Cause You're My Boy" and "SOTUS." I'm only going to speak to these two shows.

Mork and Tee are back in Episode 3 for their third anniversary. The storyline about misconceptions is very cute. Drake Sattabut tops his previously excellent performance as Mork, who has now cast off any doubts about his love for Tee. Frank Thanatsaran still struggles to sell his Tee character as being Mork's soulmate. He's tightlipped in the kissing scenes. Plot-wise, credibility is a bit strained to believe that two adult guys who love each other this much are still living separately after 3 years, just to please Tee's mother.

Episode 5 reunites Arthit and Kongpob from the original SOTUS, which took way too long to get these two characters to the holding hands and kissing stage, where the drama abruptly ends. Finally, the audience gets to see the ending we had waited for. While Arhrit is still shy about public displays of affection, Krist Perawat dials up his performance to Oscar-winning status with a heartbreaking breakup scene. Finally we get to see Arthit's unmasked feelings for Kongpob. Singto Prachaya gives an equally satisfying performance as Kongpob, who remains stoic and strong to support Arthit in the breakup scene, only to let go of his emotions in the next scene. And the big payoff is Arthit overcoming his public display of affection hang-up in the final scene. This is excellent writing and direction. No doubt Singto and Krist's real life, off-screen bromance helped to bring a whole new level of life to these characters. I could see a spin-off series about Arthit and Kongpob living in China for two years.

The shows are more-or-less stand alone, so if you haven't yet met a set of characters in the original series, you can just watch the episodes where the familiar ones appear.

Feel-Good Romance with Intense Chemistry

Our Skyy is easily the best anthology of BL one-shots out there. It features all the favourite couples from GMMTV and serves as a good sum-up for each relationship and their type of love.

1. PeteKao—Bickering love
2. KongpobArthit—Serious sorrowful but norm-defying love
3. PickRome—Forgiving love
4. InSun—Doubtful love
5, TeeMork—Confident love

This anthology has such high rewatching value as it’s so nostalgic and leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling by the end of each episode. The music is very iconic as well. It makes me tear up a little every time. There’s so much history behind each couple that makes this whole instalment worth every minute of this old fan.

The idea of having 5 BL couples in one series itself is adorable. I'll review it episode-wise and how is it relatable in real world.

Episode 1 - PickRome(OffGun)
OffGun always have the best onscreen chemistry. Their story emphasizes on how we should never belittle other's work. Whatever it might be, its equally important. PickRome getting swapped and understanding each other was best.

Episode 2 - InSun (PleumChimon)
Out of all the couples here, PleumChimon were somewhere lacking in the chemistry. I guess their story teaches us how we should never wait for the right moment to come, whenever we start its the right time. All in all their story was a mess to me (Mike somehow saved the episode).

Episode 3 - TeeMork (FrankDrake)
FrankDrake have flaming chemistry. It teaches how we should always trust any relationship. If there's a problem, discuss it rather than stretching it like a rubber band. I really wish FrankDrake star in a new BL as main lead, they deserve it.

Episode 4 - PeteKao(TayNew)
This episode was PeteKao being TayNew. This episode is how we should spend sometime with our better half and enjoy every moment with them. Rather than giving excuses, just do whatever you want with each other. TayNew have such a natural onscreen chemistry, everything felt real.

Episode 5 - ArthitKong(KristSingto)
Krist was quite relaxed here. This episode teaches one of the most important thing that is, "Never take decision without other person's consent". Being in a relationship is a two-way thing, so everything needs to be shared. KristSingto were as usual good but I felt Singto was a bit tired.

Music was nice. I loved its feel everytime they played the OST. I hope they surprise us with such mini-series.

Simple and Nice and So Fitting

These are incredibly enjoyable snippets and a fitting tribute to each of their relationships. There is an organic feel about these and a sense that they really are couples. It helps solidify their relationships in the hearts and minds of the audience and that really is a nice feeling. There is something truly enjoyable about watching each of these couples tackle situations unique to the development of their relationships. We get the sense that they will indeed be ok. And in this chaotic time, that is exactly what we need.

EP 5

Sorry to say, but I only watched ep5. #Biased
It's a good ending to a story that lasted for 8 years.
There are still some who are asking for a season 3, but I think this time KA already had their happy ending.
They already had an uncertain beginning, already went through public declaration of ownership (?), and now they've proven how strong their relationship can go.
For me, there's nothing left to be said.
But yes, I would also love a sneak peak on their marital bickering! ?
