Not as frustrating as most lakorns

TL;DR coming straight from BPS with no experience with other lakorns, you'll be disappointed. However, it's actually pretty good.

STORY:
TL;DR The love story's AWESOME, the plot is frustrating at best SPOILERS ONLY IN THIS SECTION OF THE REVIEW

The major issue I had with the story was the evil girl. *sigh* she was too much-- seriously... who acts like that??? Everyone in the drama is a serial cheater. They forgive the evil girl-- which is great, but how on earth could the leads allow her to LIVE WITH THEM???? Pope suspects she's trying to KILL Bella, so what does he do?? He "keeps a closer eye on the evil girl" Bruh. If your girlfriend's and unborn baby's LIVES might possibly be at stake, YOU KICK THE GIRL OUT. So yeah. Typical nang rai getting all up in everyone's business, with no one bothering to keep an eye on her.

That being said, I looovvveeed the love story! Min and Picha's characters were very well-rounded, especially for a lakorn. I loved how they showed Picha's difficulty in committing to another relationship (though it was a little frustrating). It's hard after a divorce! Especially a nasty one like hers! Any misunderstandings the couple had were resolved on the spot, which is something you NEVER EVER see in lakorns. They actually communicated with each other lol. Min was so patient and level-headed, but we also see that he's imperfect in his relationship with his dad. They're both so believable.

ACTING:
Pope and Bella have done it again! This drama made me realize something: not only do they have amazing chemistry, but their acting styles complement each other perfectly.
ALSO, REAL KISS SCENES. In which we see Pope, our favorite cinnamon roll, making use of his kissing skills-- another thing you NEVER EVER see in lakorns.
Everybody else was convincing and worked well together!

MUSIC:
I'm sorry Bella... but you need to stick to acting... amazing actress, terrible singer. Pope's passable at best.
The other songs were great, though!

REWATCH VALUE:
Only worth rewatching for Pope and Bella's scenes.

OVERALL:
A good lakorn-- not amazing, but good. Recommended for the avid Pope and Bella fan who has preferably seen a few lakorns before.

Like many people have said for those who have little experience with lakorns might find this disappointing but for us who have more experience with them, this show wasn't as frustrating as some of those out there. For starters yes there is an evil character who tries to mess with the lives of the leads but what series doesn't have that cliche. Our two leads didn't have any big misunderstanding because they saw the true colors of the evil character and they were careful. We also don't have the cliche of one of the female lead friends falling in love with the male lead and teaming up with the bad character. I was skeptical about mint at the beginning but from start to end they kept her character loyal to Aim. We also have Mr. Natt who I thought was going to be a headache but he ended up respecting the choice of the female lead and he helped her. I won't lie and say when they first introduced Preuk(male leads half brother) I thought we were going to have another evil character since that's a cliche that happens with most lakorns and dramas in general but again I was proven wrong and he was a good character. Overall this is one of the best lakorns out there especially since they didn't include many cliches and we only had one real antagonist.

Would I rewatch? Maybe in the future, because I already know the small plot twists etc...

Do I recommend watching? Yes!!! You won't waste your time with this drama, from start to finish it was good. It's not full of fluff but we have a couple who has little to no misunderstanding in their relationship once they begin and we have wonderful supporting characters that helped them. Also for once, we don't have a weak female lead who needs saving from the male lead.

Main leads

This drama was refreshing. The reason why I give the show so far a 10/10 is because of how the main leads characters were written. There’s very little cliches that you see in other dramas where the male lead is a dumb guy and blind to the schemes the bad people are creating. Both of the leads characters were smart and didnt fall for others bullshits easily. The male lead and female lead understands and trust each other. There’s very little misunderstanding between them. The only thing I didn’t like was the evil sister of the female lead. Her character came off as not too realistic. She did many things that were questionable and were far from reality in my opinion. Overall the actors were great at their job.

The pace of the drama was a tad bit slow in the first few episodes and almost boring to watch. But when there were more screen time between female lead and male lead things started to get more and more interesting and it was very cute. I can’t wait for more episodes

Overrated bc of main leads

In my opinion this drama set most expectations very high from the beginning due to the previous drama of the main leads 'Love destiny' which was very popular and is also one of my favorites. Therefore the rating in this drama started from the beginning very high.

I liked the story so far, it doesn't include all kind of cliches and the female lead was strong and independent. I liked FL best friends gang they're pushed it upwards but the parts with FL sister were way to unrealistic. Like how far they want to go and how much they want to forgive. I can't relate to that. They could include more storytime into the second couple because they're very interesting but they didn't.

In conclusion the acting was really good nevertheless it was a drama which was not very catching, I didnt had the feeling that I need to binge watch it and I would have dropped it if it wasn't for Bella bc I'm a fan of hers.

This drama was good, but go through a wheel full of emotions!!!

Before reading, I will give a warning that this will have spoiling of the story...

Anyways, first of all, I really only enjoyed this drama because of bella and pope’s chemistry. I think their acting really goes well together and they just make the story feel more real. In the drama, I loved how pope still waited for bella although she was already married. When he got the chance to be with her, he didn’t waste time and actually went for her! Now that is a real man right there. BUT I DID HATE ONE THING ABOUT HIM IN THIS DRAMA. The fact that he slept with the nang rai makes my blood boil! Just like HOW COULD YOU?!?!? But, also at the same time, I can understand cuz he was drunk, but still! I HATE THE FACT HE SLEPT WITH THE NANG RAI UGH. I think bella was just p e r f e c t in this drama. She was patient, understanding, strong, independent, and just amazing!

Speaking of the nang rai in this drama, WORDS CANNOT EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I HATED HER!!! SHE WAS JUST SO ANNOYING AND I WISH SHE COULD JUST HAVE DISAPPEARED. Like what kind of person does what she does just to “get back” at someone?!?? I really just hated her. period.

If you plan to watch this drama, note that there will be many plot twists and everyone just basically cheated on each other, lol. But, again, watch it if you want to go through a wheel of emotions and see if true love is still out there for a divorced person.

First of all, I’m using my favorite picture of the drama because this is the best moment for me from the drama..Besides, this is the drama that I’m waiting for. As the biggest fan for Pope and Bella after Buppe San Nivas (Love Destiny), I must watch this as appreciation for their best chemistry from Buppe San Nivas. Finally…

1.Pope-Bella Couple…This is the main factor that I choose this drama.By the way, they really didn’t disappointed me. Their chemi is superb. I can feel Pope’s honey eyes and their interaction feel really to me. Hahahaha..this drama erase my Jirayu-Bella couple that I always adore of. Now, this couple will be my first couple bias in Thai Drama. In addition, after 17 episodes immersed with Pope Thanawat, I decided that he will be the No 1 Thai actor in my heart. He is a babe for me while Bella will be in tier with my beloved actress. I will wait for this couple to reunite again in any genre of drama.

2. Blink-blink girls..another attraction in this drama. Young, beautiful and sexy should be tag on this group. I love all the girls in this group. Nia, Nipha, Bell, Mint, Aim and uncultured Nim. Each of them have their own charms and I love how they support each others and stay loyal to their friends. This is amazing. Luckily, I also have this group in my real life..We call ourselves the Fabulous Group. Thank to God for this amazing friend around me.

3.Family always be Number 1…After you watch this 17 episodes, you will understand the importance of good family. Good family will bring bless while the unbroken family will bring hell. I love how the writer create good characteristics for each families. Also, family will always be there when the harsh time.

4.Betrayal and cheating..I’m not from Thailand but this topic always popped out from Thai Dramas. This is really frustrating. The sons and daughters from that relationship is pity enough from my eyes. Anyway, there are many person suffers from this issues. man. As a woman, I really empathize all the woman that got betray by their husband. Their patience is magnanimous. This is the seed for all the problems in this drama.

5. When it is late, you are really late..This is for Max and to all stupid husbands. Every woman has their own limit for your stupidity. When you are late, that’s means you are really late. In the nutshell, please don’t take for granted for woman’s kindness.

6.Tasty and shiny oranges….This is a new knowledge about Thailand that I can found from this drama. The orchards are big and the oranges are everywhere. It feels like the oranges and the orchard are PPL in this drama. However, the scenery at the orchards are beautiful + how come all the oranges look shiny and pretty in the screen. Nevertheless, I think all actors in this drama already consumed Vitamin C ,enough for 10 years. Hahahahahah……….

This is no second lead syndrome for me because I already fell for Pope. I love Pope Thanawat as celebrity and I also love Ramin in this drama. But I have girl crush in this drama..Our Bell. I love Her in this drama. She is beautiful, straightforward, loyal, kind and etc. I like the character and the actress who played this Bell. I’m looking forward for Jacqueline Muench’s acting.

ABOUT THE DRAMA
As the fan of Pope+ Bella couple + my eagerness + excitedness to watch this drama, I with full of bias + unfair review will give this drama 10.5/10. This drama got 0.5+ because the amazing + superb + bias + love from me to Pope and Bella.This couple didn’t disappoint me with their amazing chemistry and acting…It really feels good when my bias or my favorite actors satisfy my expectation. That is the main reason why I become their fan and stand by their side. This drama is really good. It is not typical lakorn but still have the lakorn vibe. I love the fashion, I love cars used, I loved the buildings + interior design, I love the scenery and I love everything JUST hate that this drama did not achieve good rating in Thailand. I wish for 10.0% but this drama got average 5.8%. Luckily, I found this good drama.

1.Awesome acting...everyone really did good job especially Max. Their act is first class. As the result, I had many emotions along this 17 episodes. Their act really relive this drama. Good job to everyone.

2. Mint-Her mother combo– I love this combo besides the Blink blink girls. Their are many good things in this drama that I can learn and improve myself. However, this relationship between this daughter-mother is fantasy like where they can pinned point the wrong yet respect each others.

3.OST…Love all the OSTs.

In the end, this drama is good. I love this drama and apparently I will re watch this drama sooner.

Good Storytelling, but Love Destiny is Better Mak Mak

I see so many opinions on this show, both good and bad, and have so many thoughts about the whole thing that I needed to write this review for my own peace of mind. This review is also full of spoilers, so read only if you want to know what happens.

Before I begin, I just want to commend the drama for being very well-written as a whole. Overall, the characters in the story were very well-rounded, and the story itself was very neatly completed, with all the plot threads beautifully tied up. However, I would not rewatch it purely because it's very painful to get through all the messy emotions and villain arcs within this story.

For those coming here after Love Destiny, Pope and Bella do get a lot more sweet moments and skinship here, but I still prefer the yearning and pureness of their connection in Love Destiny, without all the messy misunderstandings and villains present in Deceitful Love.

// 1. Max and Aim’s Marriage

The saddest thing about it all is that it’s clear that Max and Aim care for each other, which is why they married in the first place. Max wasn’t lying when he said that Aim’s the best woman in his life. But it’s also a fact that there are men who adore having an innocent, gentle woman as their wife, but like playing around with promiscuous women outside of their marriage. Because at the end of the day, most men are fully capable of separating love from sex and do so with alarming regularity. And this is what makes women suffer, because most women are incapable of doing so. Humans aren’t innately monogamous creatures – it is an active choice that one has to make; to love and respect your chosen partner for each and every second of your life the moment you tie yourselves together. And when you don’t, this is what happens.

It is incredibly unfair to say that Aim doesn’t care about her marriage, and that it contributed to her marriage falling apart (in addition to Max’s infidelity, of course). She’s not a robot – no one can expect her to continue giving when she’s constantly being slapped in the face every time she tries to turn the other cheek. It is also incredibly unfair to say that she was too forgiving and soft-hearted towards those who have wronged her, when she’s just trying to pick up the pieces of her life as best she can. And for those who think that Aim’s hot-headedness is just “too crazy”, let me just say that it is not wrong for someone who has been hurt beyond measure to lose all sense of rationality and go mad at every slight against her. It’s only human.

She made her stand when she filed for divorce, and it was the right choice.

// 2. Min and Aim’s Relationship

Firstly, I wanted to say that they were adorable in Episode 5. Following her despair about her failing marriage, Aim says she feels like the sky is so dark that there’s no way out, and Min tells her that he’s here and he will find a way out for her, then he bites his lip while looking at her laughing next to him, like he wants to say something he shouldn’t.

The show doesn’t make it clear whether Min and Aim were ever together, but what’s clear is that they are each other’s could-have-been and almost-was, which is a more painful existence than someone who’s been truly loved and lost. Back in school, I think they were a couple in every way except they never formalised the relationship. My favourite thing about Min is that when they get their second chance, he tells Aim, “You don’t have to take my word, but you can take a look at my actions.” It is a very romantic and convincing way of getting Aim to see for herself whether trusting him was a worthwhile endeavour.

However, I hate how Min inadvertently made Aim feel like she was crazy or overreacting to Nim’s manipulative tactics (i.e. leaving her panties in Min’s toilet) when he should know that when dealing with this woman, a stern talking-to is far from enough. What he needed to do was file for a harassment and protection order, which he failed to do. Aim had every right to be vocally angry about the fact that Min gave Nim an opening to manipulate the both of them. It’s not that Aim doesn’t trust Min, it’s that Min is inadvertently giving Nim chances to undermine him and Aim’s relationship over and over again, which is extremely silly of him at best, and thoroughly disrespectful of Aim’s PTSD at worst. Instead of helping her process her feelings of trauma, he’s telling her with his actions to forgive, forget, and essentially to just get over it. He’s not doing it maliciously, but his cavalier attitude towards her trauma is unacceptable. She needs to process before she can begin to heal, and he’s expecting her to be at the final stages of processing her trauma already? Min, your love is a balm, but it’s not a miracle. That said, Min does have very romantic lines which I love, especially when he tells Aim, “You’re my first love, my only love, and my last love.”

The whole second half of the drama was where Nim got truly ridiculous – yes, she can actually get worse. In sum, she half-pretended to get depression –but actually has borderline personality disorder– then went through the whole show-and-tell of acting like she wanted to commit suicide, then structuring her redemption arc, with the final brushstroke being her multiple attempts to murder Aim and her baby. Min and Aim were extremely silly to have brought Nim into their home to take care of her, but it is what family does –as stupid as that sounds– and it’s hard to begrudge them for making that hard decision at the end of the day.

Finally, I just want to say that it did not surprise me at all that Aim had to take things into her own hands and resolve the threat of Nim by thwarting all her underhanded attempts to hurt her (e.g. pour detergent into her eyes under the guise of helping her apply eyedrops). Truly, when it comes to scheming women, men are utterly incapable of dealing with them. It takes another woman to thoroughly resolve such matters. Men are good at dealing with outright threats, but a woman’s surgeon-delicate touch is required for insidious ones.

// 3. Aim’s Relationship with her Sisters

At the end of Episode 7, Aim’s friends were cheering her on about something, and it truly showed that Aim has an amazingly strong support system in the form of her friends and family. This is why I always advocate for women to maintain close friendships with trusted friends even after they enter a relationship and their significant other also becomes their best friend – because it’s never wise to place all your eggs in one basket, and a person should never make another person their sole reason for being. You are made up of all the people around you who love and support you, and that should never be one person only, just in case the worst-case scenario happens like it did for Aim.

There were comments saying that Aim and her friends forgave Nim too quickly and easily, but I just wanted to say that I don’t think they did. Her friends continued to be wary of Nim even after Aim accepted her back into her life and brought her into her home with Min so that she could take care of her. It’s just that they are supportive of whatever Aim chooses to do, and understand that Aim is incapable of abandoning her beloved sister, regardless of the treachery and betrayal that Nim has perpetuated.

Also, her friends expressed their concern about Nim to Min at the end of Episode 15 as well – they certainly did not leave Aim to Nim’s nefarious hands without blinking. It is not their fault that Nim was manipulative enough that she managed to convince everyone that she had changed for the better.

Finally, I love Mint as Aim’s sister, I wish she had been Aim’s sister instead. Also, Natt and Mint are adorable together – I love their chemistry!

// 4. Frequently Asked Questions

Things I wished someone could have shared with me while I was watching the show:

(a) Nim feels weird – is it just me or is she dodgy?
o Yes, she’s the evil bitch of this show.

(b) Aim keeps feeling faint – is she pregnant with Max’s child?
o No, it’s just exhaustion.

(c) Why does Nim hate Aim so much?
o Nim’s the daughter of a mistress – that’s why she always feels inferior to Aim. But honestly, a mistress’s daughter will always hold a lower position in the household than that of the principal wife’s, and that’s a fact that Nim needs to learn to accept with grace. The fact that Aim’s mother treats her so well is already a boon that she should be grateful for.

(d) Nim said that neither her dad, Min, nor Max ever cared about her – did she ever like or dated Min?
o No, she’s just delusional – the only affection she ever held towards Min was born out of her desire to hurt Aim.

(e) Did Nim really sleep with Min back when Aim first left him for Bangkok University?
o No, she lied. But I did think that it was very silly of Min to hold back the full story from Aim in the name of protecting Aim and Nim –but mostly Aim– from being hurt. While it was silly of Aim to get so upset over Min’s perceived betrayal back then –since they weren’t technically together– it is perfectly understandable that she has trust issues after everything that has happened to her.
