This review may contain spoilers

Overall it was good, but the ending messed it up.

Note: There aren't exact detailed spoilers in this story, just spoilers about the format and how it flows.

STORY---------------------------------------
I honestly was really intrigued by this story, and was really interested in it from the start. But a little while after, the story tended to become a repeated cycle. Normally in a drama, the leads break apart and get back together, just like in this story. It creates more of a roller coaster, which I am perfectly okay with. What really hurt, was the length of the breakup versus the length of the reuniting. They break up for like 4 episodes, and the whole truth is revealed and they are together in the last 10 minutes of the drama, which is very disappointing. Of course, not everything ends happily, but this drama does. Happily, for just 5 minutes though.

ACTING/CAST-----------------------------
The cast was great, and the acting was not bad. I especially think the female lead's acting was amazing, and I know that there are more dramas featuring Liang Jie and Xing Zhao Lin.

MUSIC---------------------------------------
The music is really good, and really loved a few songs from it. Definitely a good OST.

REWATCH VALUE-------------------------
I wouldn't really rewatch this, mainly for a fact that I would be wasting my tears just to know that they get back together for 5 minutes at the end. Sometimes the character's decisions frustrate me, and how clingy the second lead could be. It's nice to watch once, but I wouldn't watch it twice.

OVERALL------------------------------------
Overall, it was an okay drama. It was just how unethical some characters could be and the ending that brought my rating for this drama down. If you like the main leads, watch "The Eternal Love". It has a higher rating than this one, with 3 seasons, and is on my plan to watch list.

One of the most successful drama couples in Chinese drama industry

There is some problems with the story . Literally i don't understand why CEO of a company didn't check about divorce agreement ? Who altered the paper !!Chairwomen , CEO , Lawyer.. no one checked !! is that possible in real life ?? Even the ML & FL suffered 3 years because of ex gf .In the last episode what had we seen ! Only 5 minutes happiness ! of being together ML & FL . And, Ex GF who killed the baby she was in the wedding isn't that funny, even after killing a baby or created the whole problem she only apologise with a SMS !! how funny was that !! Salute the Story writer !!Grow up please !!. The problem of Chinese drama their stories are not realistic as korean dramas.
What i found in this drama they just made more episodes without thinking realistic . What i love most Liang Jie & Zhaolin couples together made another work . These couples are one of the successful couple in chinese drama industry. Wishing them more works together in future . I only found in this drama their chemistries are really adorable comparing others chinese drama couples. What we can say in dramatic language that is - they are really meant to be "the eternal lovely couple " just like the eternal love drama.

Very Emotional

This version has to be the BEST! Every details, characters, ost , it’s just amazing..
And no words for their chemistry and acting
Loved the Taiwanese version but Chinese one has just blew my mind away
I love the fact how they didn’t make a jerk like other version..loved xiyi’s character..
I have laughed cried with every episode..waiting for the new episodes..
Now the real drama begins
Highly recommended drama for all
You just fall in love with all the characters here.. even the aunt lol
The couple is already famous with eternal love series, and here too they are just amazing

Really good melodrama!

There are a lot of negative reviews and complaints for this drama but I thought it was a very entertaining melodrama. The first 24 episodes of the show was a sweet romantic comedy and the last 12 episodes became a tear jerking melodrama. I could see and understand each of the characters’ points of view, even the “antagonistic” characters. And unlike many of the other reviewers, I particularly liked the yearning and misunderstanding parts of the drama because I ugly cried and became so emotionally invested. Loved it!

Good drama if you skip the last 10 episodes

Everything's mostly already been said about this drama. I just want to add a few thoughts:
- the drama was well-acted, the leads still have awesome chemistry!!
- the story was so frustrating, I almost smacked everyone through my computer screen. However, this is You're My Destiny. The story was always and always will be extremely frustrating. I was hoping they would switch it up and somehow make it less frustrating, but alas... I think it was worse than the other versions I've seen.
- the first part of the drama is really good

I won't be re-watching this one. It took all my willpower and a lot of skipping to get through it the first time. Good acting and production, just extremely draggy with an abrupt ending. Normally I find montages of the couple being cutesy extremely cheesy, but I desperately wished for one at the end of this drama. They put us through ALL THAT just for 4 or 5 cutesy scenes. Not worth it to me.

Love/hate relationship

Id just like to state that this family has some major issues; are we all just not going to pay attention to the fact that the ML kept saying that he was the FLs husband but still had his girlfriend, Anna on the side and didnt stop talking to her until like half way through the drama? Some people wouldnt say that this is cheating but i think it is. While Anna was all the way in Europe dancing, her boyfriend was getting married to another girl and impregnating her! Like i know the ML and the FL were intoxicated and stuff but it still doesnt make up for anything. The beginning episodes were intriguing but toxic too. The way the ML treated the FL i just could not handle, his bipolar attitude wasnt fun to watch. Idc if it was part of the script. At this point i should stop talking about their relationship and the mother instead. Excuse my language but there are some serious anger issues inside her, either that or shes just fucked up to begin with. Destroying the painting of Anna with a sharpie even though you didnt even know her? Thats just being overdramatic. If i were a mother and saw this i would be angry and the most i would do is take down the painting or something. The mother is just quick to judge and my least favorite person in this entire drama. Although this c-drama be better than all the other re-makes it still has a lot of things it can work on. I would recommend this but be ready for some emotions towards the characters to flow out of you.

I would say that the story is better than average but not great. I understand that things that happen C-dramas

Skip it.

After seeing all the adaptations of this series. I don't know if I particularly like any better or if any of them is better. There are some aspects of each that I like. In most case, the main actress is always mistreated so badly. She doesn't or can't stand up for herself and needs a guy or someone to look after her. And so what I like from this adaption is that she eventually change over time in a sense.

Not sure who is more a jerk in all of these adaptions. Maybe this guy in this series. Nothing is romantic about it. It is a bad example of a healthy and or ethical relationship.

I am mostly happy to see Leanne Liu. I remember growing up watching on the same screen. She was huge.

One of the best and most moving TV series I have ever watched

This TV series is one of the best ones I have ever watched.
From the story, the accompanying music, the cast, and the acting, the director succeeded to transmit every emotion possible from mild to very deep to deeper. You feel transported. It is very moving.
I would watch it again and again.
Actors act. It's their job. But when actors succeed to transmit their emotions to us, watching, and we feel the emotions as if we were the actors themselves, it is a success.
Bravo to all the actors, director, filming crew, and the post-production team for a very successful job!

Why this drama is not okay... and it did not age well. Let's be realistic!

I watch the orginal and the korean remake many years ago and now that I am watching this remake as an adult, I find that this drama is really not okay.

Here are something I really hope that they would have changed and that is that the FL would have picked the second ML instead of the ML. Don't shot me just yet, listen to my explanation first. Let's talk about how wishy washy the ML is toward the FL during their marriage. He kept running back to the second FL which in my opinion, is unacceptable. Let's take talk about how it destoryed the FL herself esteem and confidence in herself. He practically destoryed her. Emotional, physically and pyshologyically . The ML is selfish and only care about himself. Think about the scene when Elaine called Dylan and had her mental break down. It really was not okay, her abuser, Yes her abuser, comes backs and inserts himself into her life without any thoughts of mental instablilty or pain that he caused her because he so called "loves her."

A love so strong that he would abondoned her all the time for his exgirlfriend. Yes, I understand that he still had unresolve feeling for his ex but that did not justify how he treated the FL. In retrospect he is nothing more than a cheater and a user. He user her to keep his grandmother happy and he never gave her any security. It was only after he realized that she was gone, that he truly missed her. And I don't even believe that he missed her because he loved her. I believe whole heartedly, that he only missed her, because she was the one and only woman outside of his family that truly loved him with all her heart.

His love for her was out of remorse and regret of letting go of the one person willing to put his happiness first before her own. Something he had always wanted from his exgirlfriend.

Yes, I acknowledge that some of the interaction that the FL and ML had together was indeed sweet, but it does not excuse his wishy washy behavior toward her. It really crushed the FL confidences and her esteem, which cancels out all the sweet thing that the ML has ever done for the FL.

Why I believe that FL should have picked the second ML.

The second ML loves Elanie unconditionally and he help pick her up when she nothing but an empty shell of her former self. He gave her the self esteem that she lost with the ML. He supported her when the whole world had their backs turn against her. I am talking about how people treated her poorly before and how no one ever paid any attention to her. He gave her the world. He helped her become the beautiful shinny person she never thought that she could be. He stood by her side and never asked for anything in return. If you asked me, what Dylan gave Elanie was the ultimate TRUE LOVE.

I don't understand why Elanie was never able to give up the ML or why she never allowed herself to love Dylan, who was the true hero in this story.

I don't understand how a few months of very little affection and a life time of emotional damaging memory is worth less then five long years of recieving kindness, support and encouragement.

To me, as an adult I don't understand this drama anymore. I don't understand why someone would chose to be with someone who had cause them so much grief in a few months, and not someone who help you become the best that you could be with unconditional support and love.

Overall, the storyline did not age well for me. As an adult, I believe that love is the best when the person you are with helps build you up and supports you through your darkest time. Not just someone who comes storming in from the past and forces himself into your every day space until you accept him,

Good story but draggy second half

My oversimplified review
STORY: The initial story line is good but the misunderstandings could have been cleared up way sooner than was shown in the drama. Great character development in Wang Xi Yi, Chen Jia Xin, Wang Zhen Ren, Leanne Liu, and Di Lun (Dylan). I applaud the story for emphasizing the loss of a child and its effects (emotionally) on parents, something I often don’t see talked about especially in Chinese media.
EXECUTION: Chemistry between the leads was perfect. Main couple gets together ep 19/36 (and later in ep36/36). Plenty of laughable moments, especially from Anson. Wang Zhen Zhu (grandmother/chairwoman) was one of the best characters from the drama. Music fit the scenes well (蜗牛的愿望-印子月 and 哎呀爱 Ai Ya Ai -李俊毅 were my favorites). My main gripe with the show is that the second half of the drama was a draggy and Shi Anna (possessive ex) drove me nuts. I rarely fast forward shows, but this one was an exception as I found myself putting the drama between 1 and 6x speed for some scenes.
OVERALL: Good story line involving a one night stand, love triangle, family, and the loss of a pregnancy but has an extremely draggy second half.

Should you drop or cop this series?

Watching this because I’ve watched the original Taiwanese series. I can say that I Love the cast! I watched 不说谎的恋人 ( Mr honesty) and immediately this was the next drama I binged on; so I can say that Liang Jie is a great actress. As for Xing Zhao Lin, have watched his earlier works way before and In this drama, his emotional scenes really get to me..

However, I felt that the ending was a little rushed and it made me want more; maybe then having a second child? Although I know it’s a remake but I can help but wish for a much more cliche ending.

So to answer the question, cop this drama if you have the time for one and drop if you have high expectations and hope for it to be as good as the original Taiwanese version.
