TharnType Will Keep You Very Interested!
One of my favorite BL series hands-down. What I love it that it doesn't deter from difficult topics, they are quite sensitive so be careful if you're sensitive to that stuff. They include flashbacks of sexual assault, as well as discussions about this as well. It's very upsetting stuff, however it makes for a believable character in Type. Whom is very unlikable at the beginning of this show, he's homophobic and quite cruel to Tharn at the beginning. However, when its pieced together why it makes sense. Usually I hate the hater-to-lover trope in any show, but in this series it makes sense. Type has internalized homophobia, built up anger from suppressing those feelings of fear and disgust, and difficulty accepting Tharn as anything but a monster because that's all the interactions he's had with gay men his entire life. That one experience can change a person completely and the show really captured that. Now I'm not saying it's not problematic, because in certain scenes it is. However, they are understandable to the plot so its made up for by that fact. This show has great acting and chemistry between the leads Mew (swoon) & Gulf (like dang it's believable) and actually shows a couple go from pretty toxic/not great to really healthy and sweet. Definitely some of the best character development I've seen in a show in Type. It's presented well in the flash forward scene, as well as in the special movie that came out after the series ended! Type became a completely different character (with some feisteniss still in him of course) and that's why the series worked. If he had stayed the same and didn't grow, I wouldn't of liked it so much. I found myself not being able to stop and had to keep watching because the story is so captivating. It's paced very well and doesn't leave room to breathe. I literally cried at the twist plotline towards the end with Lhong, wow was that some good acting. Some of the best I've actually seen in television I think! It was heart wrenching, what a great antagonistic character to shock the viewers with. Whom I was told has no backstory in the novel, so good job writers! I felt so badly for Tharn dude, that guy didn't deserve to be hurt by his best friend like that over and over again. Also poor Tar too of course!
Other than Lhong, we also get other great side characters, especially in Techno (love him so much) and Tharn's brother Thorn (cutie). The music for the show was also better than a lot of other BL series romances I've watched. It's catchy af and of course having Mew sing in the series definitely was a plus, though Kao (Lhong) is a really good singer as well! Can't wait to see what season 2 has to offer!

Please know that I understand that not everyone will identify with every part of my review, this is just my own thoughts based on my experiences:********************SPOILERS BELOW************************
This series definitely is now my number one. I have problems with the character of Type and his treatment of Tharn who honestly loved him but I also the sweetness and how he evolved. Everyone is complicated and comes from complicated backgrounds which colors their view of the world. What matters is whether they see the difference and choose to be better. While Type was cruel and selfish in the beginning he evolved and changed and in the end Type came to love Tharn just as much as Tharn loves Type and that is the most important fact.
I can not put into the words the emotions I felt during the make up scene in Part 4 or the bar scene in part 5 or the end of part 5, it's honestly overwhelming to see love portrayed that way. P'Mew and N'Gulf have chemistry that is palpable and I will ALWAYS be thankful that they were cast in the leads. They did extraordinarily well portraying the love of these two characters. It makes you hopeful that maybe you can have something close to that. Some to look at you the way Tharn and Type look at each other, with such overwhelming and enduring and everlasting love.
I am excited to see if they make a second series, I hope they do. I'm also excited for the future of both P'Mew, who I'm really happy came back into the spotlight and chose this series as his first time back and for N'Gulf, who chose this series as his first BL series. I'm also thankful for Khun Mame for writing this book and producing this series. EVERYONE worked so hard and this was evident in every part.
Again there are no words to describe the how much love I hold of this series, I am not above saying that I cried in both of the last two parts due to sheer emotions that again were all based on the chemistry between the characters . It was beautiful and emotional and uplifting and heartwarming and overwhelming. It blew away ALL my expectations and I can not fathom not rewatching it hundreds of times over while awaiting the second series.

Love is love, don't mind the gender !
Is difficult to make a review for this, is one of the few series that I like to rematch. It somehow comforts me.Because love is unpredictable. Because Type character is not a drama heroine who needs protection and saving, he is a man and he shows that.
For those of us who read the novel is a little bit disappointing, not because we want to see in detail all the XXX scenes, but because we are lingering for the more intense feelings.
The OST is great, here are the 2 main songs :

What felt strange is some of kissing scenes, especially Mew, just didn't felt natural and i love both Mew and Gulf.
On the long run I look forward to see how Gulf will develop, I see him more like dominant than Mew.
I totally recommend it. I'm eagerly looking forward for the season 2.
Enjoy it !

LOVE CAN OVERCOME ANYTHING!!!!!!
I LOVE this series. Yes I will admit it is a little extreme at times. But honestly what relationship is perfect. Tharn and Type just have their own unique way of expressing their love. And what this show made me realize is that as long as it's the right kind of love directed at the right person (true) love can overcome anything. What makes this show extra special is knowing that Mew and Gulf are very close in real life. You can definitely see their chemistry both on and off the screen.
I will admit though that I almost didn't finish the series because of the hatred that Type shows Tharn at the beginning but by episode 4 you can see it start to diminish and gradually the hatred turns to love. (I finished all 12 episodes plus the two extras in a 14 hour period.)
I would certainly recommend this series. Definitely worth a binge watch.

A Must Watch!
I was roped in through Tharne Type's trailer. I have watched the series 3 times already and thought should share my review although it's a bit late now. I do hope that it proves to be helpful to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.I admit that I wasn't initially satisfied with the casting of Type , Techno and Champ and thought why they didn't use the actors from the Love By Chance series. It dwelled upon me for a couple of initial episodes. But then I started appreciating Gulf and Mew casting because it proved to be promising. I can say Gulf despite being a newbie in the industry soaked up to trend pretty fast and why not when he had Mew besides him. Their on-screen chemistry just became strong by every episode. The team-work of all the actors playing their individual characters made the series a great success.
It's a definitely Yaoi category and the steamy intimacy between Tharne Type characters will keep you hooked. Mew is an expert in doing these scenes and I have no clue how he gets into the character that well. At times, it doesn't even seem like acting. But that is why I am so satisfied with what role he plays - he gets into the character pretty well.
The story has a lot of depth. It isn't just about two men falling in love. It has many folds in it. Thus, I appeal to the new viewers to not miss on the topics portrayed and covered by each character. It's done beautifully. I can see how BL has evolved over the years from simply being a fan service to a more socially accepted genre. I want you to take it as a romantic drama rather than labelling it BL alone. At least, how I perceived it.
Techno's comedy is refreshing and subtle. He is my favourite character in the drama. His character relieves off the tension created from a lot of serious scenes. I really am grateful to the author for creating him. You'll love him too.
Don't hate on Lhong too much though. He is pitiful, you will come across the reason why I am saying this because I don't want to turn this into a spoiler. I couldn't hate him even if I wanted to. Guess, there is no right or wrong when it comes to human beings. We are just made with all kinds of things and we need to deal with it.
I believe people who watched the series once would want to watch it again. It's well made and I hope the sequel will be even better.

STORY:The first time I watched it, I was a little confused when the driving conflict seemed to completely change in the middle of the the series, but then I found out that the series was based on two novels rather than one. Because of this, the flow of the story felt a little off for an episode or two, but overall the main plot is interesting. A much bigger problem is that there are a handful of very unhealthy tendencies in Tharn and Type's relationship. Tharn's character can be creepy, especially in terms of being really sexually pushy, and Type's character is an asshole and a bully for a significant portion of the series. This can be pretty jarring and is definitely not for everyone.
It should also be noted that Type's trauma is something that's important for all of four episodes. It's never really touched again after that, and while I'm sure it's better executed in the novel, the drama doesn't deal much with it and I wish that plot point was more thoroughly resolved.
ACTING:
Mew and Gulf's chemistry is absolutely insane, and individually they also sell their characters really well. Sometimes Mew's line delivery didn't really do it for me, and sometimes Gulf's facial expressions were a little weird, but overall I think they did a pretty solid job. The supporting actors were also great, especially Mild (who plays a hilarious and lovable Techno) and Kaownah (who makes Lhong a villain that you hate but grudgingly understand). I don't think there was anyone who stood out to me in a bad way.
MUSIC:
Music isn't a huge part of Tharntype, but it's great when it's there. I really like the OST as well as the tracks that are played during emotionally charged moments. But in general, the music isn't particularly memorable and it's nothing extraordinary.
REWATCH VALUE:
There are some scenes I really love - I've watched Episodes 11 and 12 at least four times each - but I don't think I'll be sitting down to rewatch the whole series anytime soon. This is especially true for the first few episodes. I think part of the problem that both Tharn and Type's characters are pretty awful at the beginning.
This series would have benefited a great deal if it was dedicated to the first novel alone, so that we could better understand the characters and their relationships. As it is, the story is fine, but it could have been a lot better.

I've rewatched this many times. Warning: you will get addicted to this. Make sure you get a good night's sleep before starting this. Mew is seriously an amazing actor. While Gulf could be a bit pale in comparison, Mew's attempt to create chemistry with Gulf did not go to waste. Type's character development was painful to watch at first. I didn't like where the show was going with Type being all abusive with Tharn and Tharn struggling with abandonment issues, just taking all the punches and shirt-grabbings. Type was a dick throughout the entire series but it was really relieving to see him mellowing down towards the end as he fell deeper in love with Tharn. The twist with Lhong was totally unexpected, I was caught by surprise, kept repeating the episode to experience the awesomeness all over again. Another warning is, once you finish watching this, you can't find anymore shows that can satisfy you the same way. I had to go BL hunting for a long time and was left jaded after I finished TT. One of the best drama so far
STORY (***SOPILERS***): the story was really good, i really enjoyed it, i gave an 8.5 rating because i really wanted some parts of the plot to be more developed, for example: 1) really wanted to see the characters traumas more in a psychological aspect 2) Lhong needed a proper punishment, even though I understand his situation, but nothing justify his behaviour 3) I wanted to see more of Tar and Tum reconciliation with Tharn and Type. Anyway i really liked the plot and how the story developes, it's not so fast and you can really enjoy the characters growth, also i didn't notice plot holes. ACTING: if possible i would rate that a 100, the chemistry between all the actors (especially the male leads) was exceptional. I really liked Techno, so funny and enjoyable, also Seo and Khlui were so funny together (i hope to see more of them in the second season). The actor who played Lhong did an amazing job,(***SPOILER***)you can really see his pain and his obsessive attachment to Tharn. Overall the emotions were so real...so be prepared to cry and almost feel physical pain. REWATCH: I really really liked this drama i'm going to rewatch it for sure, the chemistry was the best part in this serie...one of the best chemistry i've ever seen in general, you can really feel how much Tharn and Type love each other, also i really liked how they portrayed the friendship between the characters. It was a drama really rich under the emotional aspect. ♡Hope you will like this drama too, really recommended♡ (sorry for any grammatical error, english it's not my first language)Was this review helpful to you?
Plot-
Not cliche. Tackle serious topic such as rape and homophobia with grace and great sensitivity. Character development is not too slow/ perfect pace. The story is easy to follow and never gets boring. The characters are a perfect balance to each other and all the side characters adds humor to the plot. A honest 10/10.
Acting/Cast-
Best chemistry. They are never awkward and all the scenes are so intimate/real that it makes you doubt the actors relationship with each other. Gulf did such a good job at portraying Type as a tsundere/easy to hate type but slowly become more lovable as each episoce progresses. Type has the best character developement that is perfectly portrayed by Gulf. Mew also did a great job acting as Tharn. LOVE THESE TWO TOGETHER SO MUCH!!!! Their chesmistry is no doubt the best out of all the bls ive seen. They are cute and hot together without seem like they are forcing it. The actors are able to act very naturally with each other.
I might be a bit bias because I REALLY LOVE MEWGULF but their chemistry/relationship is so genuin on and off screen that I cant help but love them and its no doubt that a lot of people feel the same way about them. All i can say is you definitely wont be disappointed by the characters.
Music-
Since Tharn is in a band, all their ost and music are great. It adds to the mood of the episodes a lot. Mew aka the actor that play Tharn is also a singer so his voice is heavenly and is very enjoyable.
Rewatch Value-
I definitely rewatch this series wayyyyy too much. Especuially since i am a big MewGulf shipper, i watch this series whenever i am bored.
Overall-
There is nothing i would change about this series. The emotions portray on screen was genuine and interesting to watch. Every bl fan should decinitely watch this series as WHY WOULDNT YOU?
Mew and Gulf are the only pairing that make me want to ship them irl - their chemistry to too good and they act very similar on screen and off screen eith each other.
Note -
If you want more TharnType/MewGulf content, you should check out the special episode and their wedding video. Will definitely make you cry.

I dont get it???
I apologize to the fans for what I'm gonna say.I'm honestly shocked that everyone is head over heels for this drama. Literally, the only good thing about it is the chemistry between the characters but for that I'd go watch a porn instead. But other than that they're VERY poorly written. Same goes for the stroy line. I don't think that any sane person would date someone so damn rude, and self centered, just because they're cute.
Kid with anger issues, rape, and many other things. I wasn't gonna bash this drama. But it made me angry and cringe almost all the time.
The acting was so unnatural, nobody acts like this. Nobody.
There were some really wholesome moments tho. But they literally compensated it with Type's shitty behaviour.
All I have to say
~You don't need a boyfriend you just need a therapist~
