A simple love story connected to the reality
I have never written a review but seeing how different opinions are about this series I decided to write my own review for the first time.Let's start with the plot. Many watchers haven't realised what the actual plot is, when in reality this is because the plot isn't as complicating as other series. It's just a love stroy between the two main couples and the hardships they go through in order to stay together. It's not that deep or complicating and since we're not used to such simple plots, it often appears boring or weird. But the reality is actually far from it. It's easy to see that the couples connect from the beginning of the series somehow, each with their own story. But the content of each couple and each character individually is different. Problems that the LGBTQ+ community is facing everyday are addressed such as homophobia, internalised denial to the character's sexuality, fear of how the others may judge a gay relationship.
Another thing that surprised me positively was the fact that the characters would ask their significant other for consent before proceeding to any sexual activity. We see equally consentual sexual intercourse which personally made me really comfortable and safe with the relationships shown.
Now when it comes to acting. We see various characters, main couples and side couples. Not everyone's acting performance was amazing, thats for sure. But since most of those actors aren't as experienced as others, we can see that they're trying their best they can resulting in a pretty nice and "natural" outcome.
I think it's a pretty nice and decent series. It doesn't involve any toxicity (aside from a scene or two) and it addresses matters that gay couples face in real life. I could say that it keeps in touch with the reality we're facing and that's why i believe that it's a series that especially an lgbtq+ person can relate to and find comforting.
Since it didn't have much plot twists or complicity, i don't think there's really any reason to rewatch this series aside from someone who wants to rewatch something that doesn't require much attention.
In general, I don't think i had anything i disliked, maybe the fact that Zon's sister's bl fan fiction was mentioned a lot. It wasn't the best show I've watched, but it was nice and interesting to an extent.

Has literally become my favorite Thai BL <3 One of the most realistic BLs
WHYRU became one of the first BL's that I love to watch over and over again. Normally when I watch certain shows I get bored but with this show I watch it all the time when I'm done it's like my serotonin for the day. What I love about this show is shows how realistic a relationship can be. I love how you see them go from fighting cause they're not really sure if they like each other or not. But you can see Fighter being not exactly sure what his sexuality is and he starts to realize it the moment he gets closer to him. From what I'm getting Tutor liked him from the beginning but was afraid to show it cause he thought he like his friend Hwa. But what we all know what happened with that situation. As the show continues you get to see how their relationship gets messed up ause of Fighter's father not liking his relationship with him. And Tutor lies saying to break up wit him cause he feels uncomfortable but its actually the total opposite. Then Fighter gets to know how much he does actually care for him when Tutor ends up getting sick and not answering his phone and Zon explains to him what has happened. Then they apologize to each other and shows how much they love each other and care for each other.

I find this a really watchable BL drama although the story could have been stronger. There is enough to get us to like and care about the characters, but not enough to make the story strong and unforgettable. The Characters and Story
The main couple, Fighter and Tutor, have interesting personalities. They are similar in some ways, which make them an interesting match. Fighter appears to be the one who is more aloof and even domineering, but he is in fact rather insecure and lacks the confidence to be honest about his feelings for Tutor. Tutor outwardly seems gentler, but there is both a tough side to him and a vulnerable side to him. This may sound contradictory, but it makes sense: while Tutor is by no means a weakling, he often finds himself faced with situations in which he has to be stronger than he really is and has to force himself to act as though he can handle the situations.
The similarity in their personalities is perhaps also what makes them keep their attraction to each other for so long, apart from how Fighter's father is trying to make him date a girl (Hwahwa, Tutor's friend) for the sake of business. In fact, Fighter and Tutor are attracted to each other the first time (or soon after) they meet. Fighter admits it towards the end of the series, and Tutor is shown to have kept the piece of paper on which Fighter has written his name. On Tutor's part, this is already quite strongly suggested from the time Fighter brings him and drink and he tries to get Fighter to say so--his disappointment when Fighter later gives the drink to Hwahwa instead is telling. On Fighter's part, it less obvious, which may cause his behaviour to seem rather bewildering. I think the story would have been more engaging if their mutual attraction had been clear early on, with misunderstandings occurring to prevent them from knowing each other's feelings.
The side couple, Saifah and Zon, is cuteness overload although their story isn't really a strong point in the series. I like the way Zon starts from being shocked by how his sister's BL story is coming true but becomes more open to being with Saifah and eventually fantasizes about it. The main couple naturally needs to have more drama because the side couple has so little drama. Unfortunately, the "drama" in Fighter and Tutor's relationship is one of the weaknesses of the series. The problem with Fighter's father is so easily and suddenly resolved that one may be left incredulous. The ending seems rushed although I believe no one really minds the happy ending.
Saint's Acting
One thing I liked about this series is Saint's acting. I thought it would be hard for me to imagine Saint as anything but Pete in Love by Chance. But it turns out that I didn't find myself sayng, "Go back to Ae, Pete!" It helps that Tutor has a very different personality from Pete, but I find that Saint has portrayed the gentle and vulnerable side of Tutor quite differently from the way he portrayed Pete. I think this isn't easy, and Saint has handled his role well. At times, I did find that the role stretched a young actor like him a little too much. The director has chosen to show Tutor's character in rather demanding ways early in the series, quite often having Tutor put on a strong front in front of others only to turn around and reveal his sadness and vulnerability when no one is looking. Saint handled these scenes fairly well although the transitions from the front Tutor puts on to the revelation of his true emotions could perhaps have been better.
The Male Characters
Another thing to like about this series is the range of masculinities portrayed. The series veers from extremes (as indicated by Fighter and Tutor's personalities), and has male characters who are more conventionally masculine as well as those who are more androgynous or even effeminate without negatively portraying those who are not conventionally masculine. The owner of the cafe Tutor works in may seem stereotypically effeminate at first, but there's more to him than just the usual ornamental effeminate character meant for laughs. Although the series is woke in this regard, some may feel uncomfortable about how Fighter almost forces himself on Tutor after Tutor breaks up with him and pretends to be intimate with another guy. At least, however, Fighter does not win Tutor back in this way.
The Subs
One thing that could have been better for international fans is the translation (though I'm really grateful there are even English subs). For example, the subtitles kept saying "cringy" instead of "clingy". I suspect the translation may affect how international viewers understand the dynamics in Fighter and Tutor's relationship. For example, the subs could be the reason I'm not sure why Fighter seems perturbed by the idea of having sex with Tutor a second time at the beach. They could also be why I'm unsure whether there was any intention to hint that they might reverse their top/bottom roles though maybe it's just me imagining things.

The actor who made Fighter really impressed me, because it was his first drama as a main character, and he was just amazing.
Now about the couple Zon and Saifah, they just didn't work for me, they didn't had and chemistry between they and one day they hate each other and in the other day they are in love? While Fighter and Tutor had a previous story... Saint is an amazing actor too and I wasn't expecting less than this powerful acting that he did.
What saves this drama and make it so good is the couple FighTor, because for me the other characters didn't have a construction as good as they and the other stories seemed poorly made when compared to their.

It shouldn't be 9.5/10 but when focused on the main two couples it deserves that
Forgetting everything else with this show, it's issues with directing especially, watching both Fighter/Tutor and SaifahZon edits on youtube have made me realise how obsessed i;ve become about this show. I have rewatched this show 15 times that's how good their stories are, the actors are phenomenal and blow my mind every time I rewatch it, the ost is great, and I wished the editing and directing was the same. What an amazing potential this show has. The show overall will probably be rated 6 or 7/10 that's including the issues with editing and directing and the too many actors. But apart from that I want a season 2, i want specials for each couple, these actors need better directors, and even better scripts, because they are so good and so needed in the BL genreWas this review helpful to you?
Must watch drama
Without giving enough information to reveal too much of the story, I think this is certainly up to date with the realities of the LGBTQ community and avoids the stereotypes placed on gay couples. As the director and producer said, the focus of this drama isn't that it is a BL drama but that it is a romance drama and it just happens that these characters are gay. The plot thickens constantly throughout the drama and it leaves you desperate to watch the next episode. The majority of these actors are complete beginners and even the majority of the main roles too. Zee (Fighter) not only hasn't been a main role in anything before but actually hasn't started in any dramas or films as any character. He is completely new to dramas and the world of tv and he pulls it off as if he is an expert. His skills and talents in acting really make you believe he has been a professional actor for years and that he has done many BL roles before. Also Saint (Tutor) has more experience both in acting and BL dramas, he is still a relatively new actor and yet he can pull it off just as well too. Both of these actors as well as Jimmy and Tommy who are complete newbies, produce what is honestly one of the best dramas I have watched and the chemistry they manage to produce makes the drama seem as if it is real. I am incredibly impressed with the hard work and dedication these 4, and all the rest of the cast have put into the drama. Also, the crew worked tirelessly to make this perfect and really nailed it. There are issues with subtitles, sound and picture at times and it can be hard to watch, which is why I can't make my 8.5 any higher, but because the story, characters and acting are so fantastically done, I persevered and it really is a must watch drama. If you want an up-to-date, entertaining, creative and generally interesting and fantastic drama whether it be because it is BL or not, then this is definitely one to watch. Was this review helpful to you?

Definitely a must watch
This show left me confused, in love, and heart broken all at the same time. I'm so happy that Zon, Saifah, Fightor, and Tutor all had a happy ending. But I'm very curious to see what would have happened between Blue, Dew, and Champ. I think that Blue liked Champ but when Blue and Dew started to become closer he realized that he had feelings for Dew. I don't think that Champ had any feelings for Blue but when he realized that Dew and Blue were getting closer he got jealous. I think that's because he either has had feelings for Blue for a little and has just suppressed them or the jealousy that he was feeling brought feelings that he didn't know he had to the surface. I hope that there is a season 2. It didn't take me long to fall completely in love with all of the characters. I also really loved Japan and Tanthai's relationship so much. Even though it was just a small part, they really warmed my heart. I reccomend this to every BL fan and for people who want to watch their first BL.Was this review helpful to you?
WHY U should you watch WHY R U?
This isn't the best, but still a good one to watch!I am captivated by its storyline. A fiction writer who suddenly became part of a fiction story, it is like every fiction writers hidden dream.
But honestly saying, this series has a bunch of things needed to fix.
* First, their first three episodes is great. But I feel that as the series continues, it loses its charm. Their first episode is the one I highly anticipated. But as the series goes, it becomes a little bit boring.
* Second, the actors are great even though some of them are just newbies. But they should be given more chances to act in the series. You feel that the supporting actors are really just supporting the story which is not enhancing the story.
* Third, the Story. Honestly, this is a good story but I don't why somehow it become boring to watch. It features a lot of couples, but only two of them improved their relationship in the end. The others, well. I cannot say anything because their stories aren't clear and developed enough in the series. (If this will be having a second season, it is their chance to improve this. But if still don't happen, I would be disappointed.)
* Fourth, the effects. I greatly admire this series for its awesome visuals. Not just the actors but the locations and the editing itself. But the continuity of the editing until the end isn't maintained. (Maybe it is because for the improvement of the story of the characters so its fine.)
* Lastly, the scenes. The scene obviously wants to highlight its main couples (Fighter-Tutor & Saifah-Zon), but the introduced a lot of couples. And highlighting the two couples resulted in too little or even no development in the storyline of the other couples. Also, there is a scene where the Fighter-Tutor spent a week in a beach, which takes a whole episode of them just making love. Other couples were featured but I think it doesn't even occupy one-fourth of the time of that specific episode.
This series may have a lot of flaws, but then this is still a good one to watch. Hey, they featured MewGulf and another couple so why not give it a try, right? If this is given a second season (which for me is still 50-50), I hope they distributed the story to their other couples too. I seen more scene of the couples in their official MV for their soundtrack rather than in the series itself.

It's not as bad as some people say. It was decent
I feel like many people got confused because corona happend and the storyline didnt go exactly as planned but if you watch it a few time you will understand it. The show wasnt bad because i liked the chemistry between the couples especially the two main ones but it was sad the Saifah and Zon couldnt film all their scenes but happy we are going to be getting it soon☺️.I also felt like they couldve done better with the storyline of the side couples or had less becuse there were so many couples and i couldnt keep track of them.

The actors were really amazing. Their acting was great. There were no cringy awkward moments between the all the pairs.
The musics were perfect! I love all the songs themed for each main pairs. I added them in my playlist. Worth listening to, thus highly recommended.
I will definitely rewatch this series.
