The soundtrack was nice and I am planning on buying it from Amazon.jp as soon as I can,
Costumes once again were superb but I didn;t like the small changes they made to tamakis. I think that is because I had gotten so sued to how he was in the series.
I will not spoil anything but I will say that if you are after a few laughs, watching Tamaki be dramatic, the twins being devilish and other such events which you'd expect from the show, watch it ASAP!
Will rewatch this as soon as I can :D

But it was pretty entertaining.
Story: At the end of the Ouran drama, we were left with the cliffhanger of Haruhi and Tamaki's romantic feelings for each other. Therefore, I expected this movie to focus on that. That's why I was surprised when I was wrong. The Ouran Movie had less to do with Tamaki and Haruhi's relationship and more to do with family and the friendships you form. I really enjoyed how all the characters became much more developed in this movie than in the drama. In the drama, it felt like the writers were rushing past all the characterization just to get into the story. Here, it felt like the writers took a step back and let the characters lead them. I loved how they were all so different but united by the fact that they created *this* family for themselves, and would do anything to protect it. The first half of this movie has a similar mood to the drama. It's over-the-top humorous and light. The second half deals more with the aforementioned Important Life Lessons, but still manages to retain its charm. Overall, the story is predictable, but it's a nice sort of predictable.
Acting: I mentioned this in my review of the drama, but I am *really* glad that Yamamoto Yusuke isn't afraid to look ridiculous. Because let's face it, his character is pretty much the epitome of all thing crazy. I felt that Kawaguchi Haruna was a nice fit for her role as Haruhi. She had the clueless look down pat and was really good at portraying the straightforward yet dense character we all know and love. Her stellar performance grounded the rest of the crazy characters, acting as an anchor for all their personalities. Haruhi is the most down-to-earth member of the host club, and I was glad that she pulled it off. Daito Shunsuke was pretty awesome as Kyoya, with his evil laugh and poker face. However, I really loved Ryusei Ryo as he played Nekozawa. It was hilarious every time Nekozawa popped up with his cat-puppet... thing. Not to mention the way Ryo spoke. That itself got a smile from me.
Music: Meh. I don't pay attention to music unless I want it on my iPod. I barely noticed the music in Ouran, so take that as you will.
Rewatch Value: This movie was hilarious. Who wouldn't rewatch it simply for all the times Tamaki is thrown against the wall by kanji letters?
Overall: I feel a little sad that this will be the last we'll see of this cast portraying all the host club members, but at the same time I'm glad that this movie successfully tied everything together. True, the end was a little open, but I think that was the point. It was to show us that the host club members still weren't done with their lives, and that they still had so much more to accomplish.

Since I wasn't used to it anymore, the acting seemed way over the top and over-dramatic to me and the effects were kind of horrible, but after a while I got used to that again and really enjoyed seeing the characters interact again.
I liked that they focused on the side characters instead of the main couple in this movie. There were really cute scenes in it.
If you didn't like the Drama, don't bother with the movie. :)

If you hadn't read the manga, and stopped after watching the Anime or the Drama, then you know there are still some missing endings, well the movie gives you a taste of the manga ending, it does not close all the loose endings like in the manga, but it was surly a step froward.
The movie was hilariousness, a had a very good laugh watching it and Tamaki was cuter than ever XD,
It could've been better I guess, as sometimes the story drift away from the mail lead characters, but I enjoyed watching it very much, I recommend anyone who has seen the Drama or the Anime to watch it ;)

However, this one also had a really odd conclusion to the love story. One thing that I liked in the drama was the love triangle. Here, however, the love triangle was weak and the love story didn't have a nice, satisfying ending.
There were some things that I did enjoy however: Nichkhun's cameo, Chiba's character, the sport festival and the way the hosting club teamed up and competed. I also liked the leading lady, the most reasonable character.
So, five out of ten.

Tamaki is Still as Adorable as Ever
This unfortunately, was somewhat of a let down. I really enjoyed the series a lot. But this just didn't have the kind of effervescent fun the series delivered each episode. While the cast was still strong, I just didn't like the storylines deviation from the anime and the brother/sister dynamic here was a drag. All in all I'm glad I watched b/c Yamamoto Yusuke and Kawaguchi Haruna are worth watching it at least once for. It does make me wish there had been another movie made or a series reboot done. Was this review helpful to you?
And a Korean-actor was cast, maybe to have a wider audience? The English he and Michelle speak was not bad, but it wasn't too good either. Which wouldn't have bothered me at all except that they talked in whispers! I had to come closer to the screen to understand at least half of it... and they were supposed to talk in English every day or so... ha! As if.
I loved the contest they have at school, it is one of my favorite plot to watch in a live-action. Kinda like HanaKimi, where there are several groups that compete against each other, in the silliest games! My favorite part of the movie! My least favorite: everything that was about Michelle and her brother. What a pain, it dragged so much sometimes. I wanted more Host Club, more Tamaki-Haruhi, not more about a girl with the most terrible hair (seriously, how could she comb that tangled mess??) and with a brother complex.
I wish the scriptwriter had chosen another arc instead of that... nevertheless, it was good to see the gang again XD

This movie hasn't aged well
This movie is 10 years old, and apparently production quality has improved greatly during that time. The film was grainy and blurry, with a lot of long shots that prevent you from seeing who is talking (especially since there is a set of twins, and two other men that look a lot alike. I had no previous knowledge of this storyline (manga or anime) so I came in blind. The series might do a better job of taking more time for explanations, but I don't feel compelled to watch it. It moved back and forth between over-the-top camp, to trying to be serious. Was this review helpful to you?
For anyone that wants to know my thoughts on the tv show I also have a review for it but moving on!
STORY: This story was much longer since it is a movie, but it is a continuation of the show. The show had a vague but somewhat satisfying ending - if you're not allergic to cliffhangers. This movie offers a more solid conclusion and just enough rivalry between cast members to get you excited. if you love the show you will love the movie. It has many of the same components of the tv show, love, friendship, family but it also offers more of a backstory for the characters that you did not get to see in the show.
CAST: Once again, the cast was simply perfect. The main cast was a part of this film, no one was replaced or anything which is a big pet peeve of mine. I did not have to worry with this. I was not a huge fan of Michelle but she was not a bad actress by any means, just the character was a little too flat until almost the end.
MUSIC: The music and sound effects were great and once again production did a very cool job with blending anime-like quality and tones with live-action and digital capabilities.
REWATCH: This is not quite as rewatchable as the show with shorter episodes that have self-contained stories but this would be good to watch again every once in a while. I highly enjoyed it. If you watch to see the club get into more situations, be their cute selves, and have a more definite ending concerning the romance you should definitely watch this.
