A light, normal day-to-day story of running a restaurant
I found this slice of life show to be very chill and amusing. There's not much to talk about, you just have to watch a few episodes to see for yourself if this is your cup to tea. I personally like it since I can watch a few episodes of these whenever I have a stressful or tiring day and see what everyone in the restaurant is up to today like how many plates did Kawai break today or where is Yamagata dozing off and sleeping this time or what's Kurosu having for dinner tonight. In my honest opinion, I do have to admit I'd say this was a rather underwhelming role for Satomi. She does have a good eye on picking good projects when it comes to dramas and that's not to say this drama wasn't particularly good but her role in this was pretty much, just.. fine and that's about it. Her role here is rather underwhelming compared to the many other roles she's had before like Unnatural, Takane no Hana and recently Unsung Cinderella, etc. Though I did hear she wanted to redeem herself after playing a complex character in Takane no Hana (the drama she had before this). She does switches up a lot of her looks and styles throughout every episode which reminds me a lot of her role in Jimi ni Sugoi.
Shison Jun's character is quite literally a 7 year old boy trapped in a man's body and he does a very good job at that lol. At first, he is kinda annoying (mostly because you won't find any adult who behaves like the way he does and he really is like a kid lol) in the first few episodes but when you're around Episode 4 or 5, you've pretty much grown accustomed to him and accepted that he's just the way that he is, lol.
There's also the floating heads above their heads whenever they have their inner thoughts which at first can be off-putting but as you go on and watch more, you'll pretty much get what's the purpose of those heads and get used to them quickly.. Doesn't make them less weird though and I have no idea why this drama has the romance tag.
Other than that, the music and the cast is solid. Fukushi Sota is rather stoic here but that's only because his character requires him to be like so. There's also some nice cameos throughout the show.
It might not be everyone's cup of tea, like I mentioned, you'll have to watch 2-3 episodes to decide for yourself if this is something that's right up your alley and IMO, I found it more enjoyable after the first few episodes so there's that to keep in mind if you're planning to watch this show. All in all, it's very much a chill, relaxing drama to watch if you have time to spare or just want to have a good time after a tiring day.
7/10. Recommended, I do see myself rewatching one or two episodes here and there.

Simple yet amusing
As this is a comedy manga adaptation, I'm all prepared to face the cringiness. Turns out there's not much of those, although I still hated how they used floating heads to express the characters' inner thoughts (I googled for a few pages of the manga and didn't see that being featured actually). The story isn't complicated, one cases per episode to be solved and flows nicely. Probably my complaint would be about the ending, where they should ended it earlier instead of stretching it. I found this drama to be a good watch if you're tired from work/school and just want some light and amusing story to keep your mood positive. Some people might think the drama is boring, but I think the key is after the first three episodes you'll able to enjoy it.The main staff members portrayed the struggle under an unpredictable boss very well and so does Satomi Ishihara as the owner. Credit also go to Jun Shison where he managed to portray a Yume-chan like character without overly doing it.
Watch if you: want some light drama

Annoyingly Perfect
Each episode really did it's best to show how even "imperfections" can be absolutely "perfect" in every way!I really liked seeing how hard each staff member and Owner worked to build up such a marvelous restaurant to be what it is (was?) for themselves and their customers, even if that wasn't Owner's first choice of creating such a fantastic restaurant. Each episode was filled with a lesson on how to become the perfect "service man", though it didn't seem like that was for restaurant purposes... and more so just as a good "human".
There were a few episodes where I was annoyed with how a character acted, but as I watched it all fit together like the best puzzle ever. If you binge watch this show, you may see what I mean because it all flows together like the most amazing movie. A lot of this show, I felt, was left to the imagination -- not who or what happened at the restaurant, though, but more so the "behind the scenes" or the "what happened after" parts of the stories, which I think absolutely helps to create a wonderful atmosphere around the story itself; something comfortable, a little hidden away, and yet popular enough to be so fulfilling and happy!
It was really awesome to see more of a few of my favorite actors in this story, even in smaller roles they all were amazing; and absolutely showed off their skill, talent, and respect for each role and episode. The music really helped to create a building or falling emotion, giving the story the push it needed to be full of suspense and mystery! There were a few episodes where I wasn't sure what was going to happen... and the ending was an absolute surprise!
This show may seem to be underrated, but trust me: it is a gem!

..RESTAURANT ON THE GRAVEYARD?!..
..whoa another food genre series....I do love the progress of each character (esp. the people whom the owner hired)..
..the struggle they encounter on how they solve it..
..every minute is a part to laugh, not a boring episode indeed..
..besides, it gives me a background how a restaurant run..
..and the ending kinda a heart-touching for me, I've never expected that they put it in the end - making me cry but still a happy ending for me and that's give me the reason why I love the ending after all..
..this show, I will remember this once I entered on a restaurant..
..my another crush - Satomi-san~!!..

Kawai - WHY?
I started this Drama for Ishihara Satomi, and she's the reason I finished it. Her character was SUPER annoying, but she managed to avoid making her unlikeable. It helped that there were flashes of personal growth for the character over the 10 episodes of the Drama. The same was emphatically NOT true of the AWFUL "Kawai" - a character who was utterly pointless from the beginning of episode 1 to the end of episode 10. a 1-D character with a zero-D growth arc. The character was a "kawaii" as rotten fish, and MUCH less appealing. I had to FF most of his scenes, many of which were supposed to be funny (as was his 'I want to PUNCH it!' smile). Without the nightmare of that character, I could have gone to a 7 for this Drama, maybeWas this review helpful to you?
