I'll say this now, I'm not a fan of anything horror-related. If there's too much blood and gore, I want nothing to do with it. If that's the kind of show you're looking for, I don't think this is for you. Zambi is definitely more story-paced than shock factor (though there are a few scenes. But they're very few and spaced out). The Nogizaka46 girls were definitely well-casted in their roles (despite some acting flaws), and while I do enjoy the stage show, I believe the drama did things better. The tone and music in the show keep a creepy atmosphere. The story keeps you hooked in. There's only 10 episodes so you can easily binge-watch the show in less than a day. That being said, the show does feel unfinished. I hope there will be a season 2 in the future to answer questions left at the end. It's really hard to review this without giving spoilers, so I'm sorry if this review is a little lackluster. Overall, if you like Nogizaka46, want to see a horror drama without actually being scared (if you're a big chicken like me, LOL), or just want a quick drama to watch, I do recommend it. The show is good, just has some flaws!

Interesting premise, totally ruined by a lousy script

Apart from the cheesy title, this "Zambi" had a pretty interesting premise, with a first episode full of eery atmosphere. But from them on, unfortunately (and particularly from the start of the zombie outbreak - pardon, "zambi" outbreak ^_^;...), the whole thing was completely ruined by one of the lousiest scripts I've ever seen, filled to the brim with inconsistencies, plotholes, horribly poor dialogues, and idiotic scenes (just a few examples - SPOILERS AHEAD, jump to the next paragraph if you want to avoid them! - out of all the teens in the dormitory, apparently only one had her phone with her - like, seriously?!? - but then when the FL awakes inside the coffin, she has a lighter with her - and when another girl is stuck climbing outside a window, she repels a "zambi" using a big spray can - where did she find it? and where had she hidden it until then?!?...as for the dialogues, a memorable example is when one of the girls gets killed - UNMISTAKENLY killed, what with the knife stuck in her heart, the eyes wide open and dead - and in the next scene, a girl asks "Was she really dead?" - Duh! Whaddaya think, girl?!? >_____<)
The acting was quite poor, but with that script, there's nothing they could have done about that - and some of the girls showed how well they can act in another drama, "Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na!" (more on that in my upcoming review of that title).
The music was nothing worth calling hoe about it, either.
Summing it all up: watch it only if you're a Nogizaka fan.

Boring Zombie Series, full of Cute Girls

This show is just boring. The gist of the story is not something new, but props for trying something creative. As a zombie show, this is just trash, but it's full of kawaii girls so I get the appeal of it.

Some of the mains had okay acting, as for the rest they're very meh, from what i can see i think everybody here are newbies, the teacher had decent acting, and the news reporter is just a bad actor.

The effects were really clean especially when the zombies transform, but the fire explosions in the last episodes were really horrendous, but honestly? wtf is up with that not so scary jumpscare ad break? there are 3 in every episode, at first it caught me off guard, but since you'd be expecting it every episode, it not even scaring me anymore.

The music is almost nonexistent in this series i think that's what lacking to at least make this really eerie, but that upbeat J-pop song really annoyed the fuck out of me, wtf??? this film is supposed to be horror, why the upbeat jpop? but at least they have okay sound effects that's one point.

Nothing else to say, just skip this if you're looking for a good japanese horror, but if you like your cute girls in jdramas then go for it.

Fairly generic horror drama with Nogizaka46 members

If you are a fan of Nogizaka46 and are interested in more of their works, this drama is worth a watch. It's not particularly great and has many issues, but it's a small commitment and it's relatively easy to watch.

The story is fairly generic, but I think the biggest issue is how weak and helpless some of the characters can be. It makes you wonder if this was done to make the writing easier.

Like most dramas, there isn't really any rewatch value. I think only the best dramas deserve rewatches, and this drama is just alright.

In summary, it's an OK horror drama and worth watching if you're a Nogizaka46 fan, but don't watch with high expectations.
