Ask MDL: Sports After terminally ill Bussan finally passes away he misses hanging out with his still living friends and decides to return to Kisarazu. In his ghost form however only his most trusted friends can see him, and his meddling in the lives of the living results in the return of Ozzy and a long dead team of American baseball players who drowned off the shores of Kisarazu. The story just closes the whole series in an awesome way, learning what the cast has become after the first movie, but you'll have to wait the second half of the movie to have some quality.
The new characters are either useless, like the american baseball team (it would have been a lot better without it) or really good, like the instructor, Sugimoto. The music doesn't change, they just added a new song.
So overall, even though the first half doesn't have the feeling of the series, the second half just makes up for that kind of emptiness, so don't worry about the synopsis and just give it a try.
