all the feels!
If you like any sort of illness story (terminal or otherwise) then you're probably going to love Hatsukoi Loss Time, just like me. It's a beautiful little movie, so sweet and charming. It has that gorgeously slow pacing of really good Japanese films that just take their time to tell the story.Of course, viewers are doubly blessed with Mizuki Itagaki in a male lead role. That happens far too rarely for my taste since he is 100% ML material and his role of Kouji is absolutely precious. He's great as a warm or nice male lead, although I'm sure he can be darn scary if he wants to be. Newcomer Sakura Kiryu as Tokine is fabulous. Considering she was, what 14 at the time? Maybe 15 during filming, she gave such an incredible performance. There's a 3 1/2 year age gap between her and Mizuki but you would never know it. I appreciate that they were clearly aware of her age, though, and were careful with her scenes and how they interacted. You can tell that she was being looked after well.
And for those who want to know, yes, there is a happy ending. Sorry, that might be a little bit of a spoiler, but some viewers won't watch one of these types of dramas unless there's a happy ending, and Hatsukoi Loss Time deserves more viewers. It's precious like One Week Friends, and even gives me some of the same feels, although not the angst and grief, as He Won't Kill, She Won't Die. It's just a beautiful, well-acted film that I could pretty much watch on repeat.

when you don't have time
This sci-fi time-stop concept feels so similar to the people who sacrifice their sleep and work hard to complete their tasks and studies, to make their life and future better.When you have no time left, nature gives you extra time to live, what an irony life is. Sometimes they try to mend an unfortunate accident about to occur. Sometimes they do adventurous activities. The lost time brought hope to two strangers, who had lost their future goals and doesn't seem to know what they want. In the beginning, I though that they were given extra time but by the end, I see that the future was not deprived to the leads. The teen love story was so natural and cute as friendship turned into love
The story probably took me off my feet with all the sci-fi secrets, but its worth the twists of the story. The acting was top notch like melted butter flowing in the pan. The actors just brightened up the HATSUKOI LOSS TIME with their charm. Itagaki Mizuki and Kiryu Sakura were great picks, otherwise, innocence gets lost when directors pick mature actors to play young teen roles. They were actually teens when the movie was made so it gives another kind of satisfaction.
Lastly, it is a good movie, if you like you might want to rewatch it. Otherwise once a watch is a must to appreciate the beauty of actors.
If you like a romantic teenage movie, give this a try. A simple story but sweet.

if it is a drama will be better
At the beginning i have watched this movie because the main actress is so dam cute and I have watched before movies of the male actor.I m into time travelling but this idea of loss travel is so unique and original but the addition of more characters like the doctors of his wife was useless..we barely have time to enjoy moment of our couple why adding them...andd they tricked us..i thoughtas most of u the doctor was him in the future ...discovering the truth was one of the worste plot twist ever...i hoped she will survive to be his spouse (only in that part) ...I felt like its can be better develloped especially cuz we did not understand this phenomen 100% ..and why the so easily felt in love with each other they barely new themselves...they have just passing 1 hour together hanging out... for both was love at first sight but still not enough..is not enough to justify the decision of operation..and even it is a drama and im such a crybaby I did not even cried the sad scenes had not conviced me...and the beginning was not that bad but from discovering the truth in the hospital it became boring we did not even had a marriage pff..and the worste scene was him looking for the box I felt likz the author wanted to fill minutes in the movie hhh..and i wanted so baddly flashbacks with his mother xD ..and i was waiting a drammatic end it will be more realistic even i wanted them to be together..maybe cuz this is the classic of japanese movie one of them must die ..to end i hope this story will get a drama with more dettails about their life and challenges

First of all, they managed the time-traveling theme well. It didn't get confusing and it was well paced. The drama was just in enough doses to keep things interesting and just right for the love story. However, the latter felt like it needed some more time to be properly developed. The doctor's story was sideblocked into a few mentions here and there and it would have been nice if they had given that story line some more screen time. The characters should have been more in-depth presented, as the male lead had some family issues that weren't properly explored. The performances, though, were good from everyone in the cast, especially from the two main leads.
So, overall, five out of ten.
