Both dramas deal with a father's involuntarily thrust into single parenthood. The dramas also shed an insightful light on Japanese family dynamics - how Japan's brutal corporate culture & rigid adherence to gender stereotypes can test the bonds of marriage. If you love bromance, esp between fathers and sons, these dramas are golden. Kazoku has a better ending if you're a romantic at heart, but both dramas are well worth the watch.

Because in both dramas we have a father trying to raise a child on his own (with the help of friends or family), however in Kazoku the main character is getting a divorce whereas in Tonbi he is a widower.

These dramas really deserve more recognition ;)

I really like this show!! I'm only on the first episode but I can tell this show is really good just by the story line and by the casting!!!
I really recommend this to anyone who loves dramas in general

Much like this drama, they get a divorce, both women marrying for all the wrong reasons, only difference between Cunning Single Lady and Kazoku is there's a child involved in Kazoku, there's no despicable, selfish and obsessive triangle in Kazoku, and Kazoku is a Jdrama.
