feelings of high school

This was a beautiful movie. The back-and-forth between current time and high school days was very well-done. This is a slow, calm movie that makes you think about roads not taken and words not said. The height disparity between the main couple was very cute, he seemed so protective of her. This was a very innocent story, and it made me think back on the choices that I made in high school, the friends I had, the boy I liked, and those intense feelings you have as a high schooler - colors are brighter, noises are louder and emotions are stronger. I admired Geng Geng for being brave enough to put her feelings out there as an adult. If you watch this, be sure to watch all the way to the end, because it has some sweet interviews with real people.

A fresh movie!

I think that it's a good film, there is a parallel time,past-present, and the actors have done a great job.
I conseil at everybody to watch it and understand the "carpe diem", the time that pass quickly.
We must catch the moment and enjoy ourselves with our friends and close people.
Beatiful and relaxing.
You need to watch because during the film there are scenes in which you can reflect at your future and after you arrive at the conclusion that before or after will arrive the time to choose an important decision.
The best moments will be impressed in our minds

This was such a nice feel good movie! This was nice and relaxing and there weren't any major plot twists or anything,, just a typical high school romance nostalgia type of thing. I was a bit skeptical at first, because i was worried i would get bored or frustrated because of the slow burn, but i enjoyed it alot!^^

The story kinda had its flaws and was lacking + slow paced slow burn overall = may not be as enjoyable to others
but i still think if you dont mind these things and just want a movie to unwind to then i do reccomend it!

I was supposed to watch this movie months ago, when it was available in the cinemas but i just kept delaying it - all the way until now. And oh boy, I regret my decision. This movie, is such an amazing one. Really. (To add on, I hardly write reviews unless I really enjoy, or hate the movie/drama. 你细品...)

This movie, really reminds me of my school days, although I've only graduated from school for a year. It makes me miss my school days - wearing uniform, hanging out with my friends, sleeping in class, admiring my deskmate. Just like in the movie, I really like my deskmate too. He was also the top student in the class, being great at everything he does. I started studying harder for him - I wanted to be good enough for him. Sadly, I never expressed my feelings for him, since I knew he probably did not like me back.

Tears did not stop running down my face while watching this movie. It really has sweet parts, and bitter ones. (It's really hard to describe my feelings from watching this movie in English, rip.)

What makes the movie even better, is Silence Wang's OSTs. Gosh, I did not expect to see him appear halfway through the movie to be honest. His songs are always great and it's a plus point, on why you should watch this movie!

P.S: I did not watch the drama version before watching this. Personally, I feel that it's best to watch the movie versions, before watching the drama because they are able to add in more details and develop the plots in dramas as there are so many episodes, unlike in movies. So, if you were to watch the drama first, I feel that you'll find the movie lacking, and not that appealing to watch.

Hope you enjoy watching!~

My best summer is the movie remake of the drama With You. Because of that, many events were a bit rushed. However, still, the movie itself was good.

What I really liked about the movie compared to the drama, was that they gave us a better ending. It was well concluded, although it could have been just a bit better. Still, it was satisfying.

Another thing that worked for My best summer, was the chemistry between the two leads. Plus, the acting was good too. The friendship part, in addition, added a fresh note to the story.

So, overall, six out of ten.

Tweaking de high-school cliches -

De film opens in high spirits in Wuhan, central China, in autumn 2008 – a pivotal year 4 de country, wid de Beijing Olympics, Shenzhou VII space launch & (more important for the teeny heroine) de seventh album by Taiwan boyband Mayday 五月天. De bubbly, totally generic tone is continued as she teams up with 2 other duncy girl-pals & ends up sharing a desk with a brilliant but arrogant male student for whom, after the usual spatting, she develops a serious but clumsy shine.

MEMORABLE LINES _ Do u remember de younger u back then? dat person back then was de best version of u; de person i am now is de best version of me; btw de best version of ourselves are all de years of our youth that we'll never able to catch again."
When I recalled my high school life after many years, I barely remembered much of it. It was like a running list with all trivial things, which was hard to salvage. I can't remember what we said and what we did but I remembered you -Geng-Geng.

Puppy Love - I’ve got my eyes on U.

I chanced upon this movie and after doing some brief research on it, I decided to watch it. No regrets. It made me relive (sort of) my teen hood and recall my own puppy love.

What I liked:
- The two leads have chemistry. The boy is tall and good-looking. I only found out belatedly that he is the son of Chen Kai Ge. I searched him up after this watching this movie. It’s a pity that he doesn’t have that many good works to his name (as yet). By good, I mean works with overall ratings of 8/10 on dramalist. The girl is quite plain but she’s okay. They are kind of cute together.
- The movie has touching moments.
- The movie has a happy ending.

It’s not a perfect movie - which one is? But, it’s fine to watch. Overall, good enough! I quite enjoyed it.

[WARNING: the rating and review I give have the possibility to be subjective due to my preference for the genres, scenes or casts]

To be honest, the beginning of this movie is quite boring, maybe because of the setting. But, after several minutes, especially after Geng Geng realize that she like Yu Huai, the story starts interesting. Related to that, in my opinion, the reason Geng Geng start liking Yu Huai is too simple. I mean, when you really pissed off with someone, watching that someone playing basketball nicely not changed your mind immediately, right? I expect something more deep and clear for that. To make it simple, the growth of their feeling and personality cannot clearly seen (by me XD)

Despite of that, this is the summary plot in my opinion : flat - funny - sweet - pathetic (I hate when Yu Huai deletes all the photos sent by Geng Geng!) - sweet. For me, they can do better for the ending. More sweetness is very welcome, maybe with some hug or kissing scene (^_^)

The best scene for me? When there's a sing festival at their school! I rewatched that scene over over over and over again (^_^)

I wasn't sure if I wanted to write a review for this movie. It's certainly not a bad film, and I enjoyed watching it, but it did not have the impact on me similar films have had. What ultimately made me decide to write this review were the lingering feelings of frustration/incompleteness due to some specific elements of the story.

First, I think most everything in the film was very well done. You can't really dislike the characters or the overarching storyline, and this is a movie that does the feelings of youth real justice. But this is also one of those movies where I think the adult versions don't have as strong of an impact as the teen versions, and it hurts the story in some ways. The adult versions are more compelling here then some other films of this theme that I've seen, but you do still ultimately feel a stronger pull towards their younger counterparts. I also have some frustration with the ending, when the movie takes what could have been a very realistic life situation and dramatizes it more than is necessary. The male lead's mother becomes very ill towards the end of his time in high school, and he has to quit his plans for University to go to work in order to care for her and pay her hospital bills. It's a very heartbreaking turn of events, and you feel incredibly sad for him. But instead of treating this with a more delicate and thoughtful and realistic approach, the writers chose to use it as a means to create some melodrama for the adult versions which I think was neither earned nor suitable for the story.

I do think this is a sweet film, and it does it's genre and theme well. I'm also pretty sure the ending will not be as frustrating for other viewers as it was for me, so if you enjoy this genre/theme of story, then this is a good film to check out. You may find you like the ending more than I did.
