This was such a good drama! I started watching the new taiwanese version of this, and while that one so far is really good and funny it's not quite the same -even though it's not really fair to compare the two. Overall the plot of this one is excellent and I was a little leary at first to watch it as I wasn't sure how I'd like it, but after the first episode I was hooked into watching this. There is a love triangle and I thought the end was done well (I'm a bit of an oddball as to who I thought should end up with Rikko, since I was more for the guy than the robot -the end has quite a twist so I don't think I've revealed too much but if I have I'm terribly SORRY!!) Anyways a good combo of romance, betrayal, friendship, teamwork, cooking of course, and life in an company that I'm sure almost anyone would enjoy.

The acting was superbly done by all parties. Night's actor did a terriffic job with all the "malfunctions". Soshi's actor was really good as well playing the part of guy that I likes her even though she does yet doesn't like him. Rikko did a good job as well though the last couple episodes were a little frustrating to me -indecisive main girls = head against wall. All the other characters were well done as well mika was a great frenemy and night's creator was outstanding as well. This drama just had such a good overall cast between the main characters, supporting characters, and even the random characters interspersed.

Music was good from what I remember -I have a terrible memory for music that I don't play myself on the piano, violin, ect....

This is definately a drama I would rewatch and I would highly recommend it to people checking out J-dramas for the first time or looking for something a bit different than most k-dramas or t-dramas.

I really enjoyed watching this drama. A fun story with both laughter and pain.
I was really touched by how much Night loved her and believe in his emotions despite the fact that he is a robot. The actors played their role well and you get to feel for them too.
I don't really remember being impressed by the music but I'm sure it was appropriate for the drama.
This is a drama that could be re-watched as a whole. I've re-watched the beginning with a friend to get her into the drama. I personally have seen the last few episodes a few times already.
Overall, it's a drama that I highly recommend for people seeking romantic dramas.

My boyfriend suggested this series that's why I watched it and I'm glad I did! It has a great story, very unique, since this is the first time I've seen a human-robot love story. The female lead is so cute and I really like her and how she portrays her character. The male lead, the robot, acted really good too that you would actually think he's a real robot. Their love for each other is so real that I thought I'm actually feeling it, haha! It's a nice series and surely I'll rewatch this!=)

The story of Zettai Kareshi is something completely different. There aren't too many stories about a robot. I found that the plot was refreshing and not something that is typically seen, so I kept wanting to watch one episode after another to see what happens. The acting by the two male leads was great. I could really feel what their characters were feeling. But, I thought that the female lead sucked! She was a good actress, but the emotions and feelings seemed extremely forced. I don't really like only having one song for a whole drama, because it can be really annoying, but I actually liked the song. I wouldn't rewatch the drama, because I thought the end was very disappointing. Usually, in the beginning of dramas you can tell who the love interest is, but in Zettai Kareshi you really have no idea who it is until the last few episodes and by the time you've already picked your favorite, you'll be disappointed if the one you're routing for doesn't get picked. It doesn't matter who you pick in Zettai Kareshi, because the end result will still be disappointing. I still think it is a cute drama, and something worth watching if you having nothing else to do, but it's not something that will be rewatched.

This drama was unexpectedly very good. After reading the plot, I wasn't expecting much from the drama, cause the idea of a woman falling for a robot seemed a bit silly to me.
However it turned out to be so heartwarming and funny (without having over-the-top comedy).

I didn't expect to really like Night since he's not even human. But anyway, I really liked him and I couldn't help but feel sorry for him at times.
I was a bit frustrated with Riiko's character. She didn't appreciate Night at first and later she didn't seem to appreciate Soshi as much as she should have. Gaah!

Hayami Mokomichi did an excellent job in playing the role of a robot. He had to have something artificial in his behaviour but at the same time he had to act human enough so that nobody would suspect that he was a robot. Hayami Mokomichi did that perfectly. :)
The rest of the cast was really good as well. :)

The theme song "Okaeri by Ayaka" was a good choice for this drama.♡♡

I'm not sure if I'm [negatively] biased against this [due to the fact that I read the manga first] but: I had a few problems with it.

Positives;

1)Loved the cast and the acting, everybody was so adorable and suited their roles well. Even the people you grow to hate did their job well.

2)I can't get over the theme song. I just la-la-LOVE it to pieces.

3)Since I read the manga, I loved the story line/plot and I wouldn't have it any other way. (Although it wasn't identical to the manga one, the whole robotic lover idea remained CLEAR.)

Negatives;

There's only one thing I can complain about, but it's quite an important factor to the story.

1) Lacking... Je ne sais qoi.
Okay, well I do know. It lacked more romance and love between Night and Riiko. I feel like she romanced with everybody else except, Night! It was made clear that she had feelings for him, yes, that is completely true BUT they had NO intimate/romantic scenes.

Alas, it was what it was and that makes it what is is.
It was beautiful and heartfelt and I wouldn't change anything, not even the emotionally-beautiful ending.

Recommend it to everybody; especially if you've read the Manga.

The movie is good, and it made me cry a lot specially during the last episode but this is really not a review I'm going to give, but a realization I had after watching the series again.

At the end of the day I am happy, thankful even, that I watched Zettai Kareshi again. It reminded me of a few things I've almost forgotten.

Everybody deserves to be loved unconditionally. It doesn't matter how "ugly" you look while sleeping with your mouth open, or if you snore loudly, or if you're moody, clumsy, clingy, fat, thin, or even if you have an ugly scar, or even if you had a child while you'e unwed -- always remember that somewhere out there your very own Night Tenjo is waiting just for you.

Everybody wants, no -- needs, to be loved unconditionally, the same way Night loved Riko. There will be somebody out there who will be willing to love you flaws and all. Believe that there is someone somewhere in this world who was made just for you, who will be happy just seeing you happy, who will cry with you, who will hug you even if you're mad at him/her, who will love you just how you deserve to be loved.

:)

Unexpected emotional story

I didn't have high expectations of this show but I was proved wrong.
I was just expecting some comedy, especially after watching the first episode, and nothing more. But little did I know back then. Yes, I have to say this drama made me laugh so many times like almost no other ever.
But the main thing was that it played with my emotions like on a rollercoaster and I must admit that I cried during the whole last episode, so if you wanna watch, prepare some tissues in advance, I guarantee you will cry too.
The story was really nice, in general researching question of what is love and who is capable of it, how can love have many forms and who is able to feel it. I also really did not expect the ending, so I was really surprised by the story.

I'd say this drama is fast paced- you won't get bored thinking that it's yet to progress or is in process of five-episode-long stalling and recaps. As for the acting, I wasn't impressed with the female lead, because she has annoyed me with most of her character traits, but some of them are explainable, while on the other hand, I liked the male lead, he managed to make me think he's really made of metal and wires. The plot is not usual, it's not yet another altering of sappy shoujo and has far more than a few comical moments that lighten the heaviness of the story.

Should you watch this or not? Yes, by all means you should, but keep in mind that it will be sad. Grab your tissues.
