One of the best chinese drama

It is my first time writing a review on here and I chose this drama because it is just so good. The story is very touching and light. It involves family, love, and friendship and I think all the casts did amazing jobs portraying their characters. I never cry that much while watching any dramas but this one just hits me different. I really really adore the relationship the two main characters give us. I even get butterfly when they hug or kiss (even though it is just a light kiss). Trust me, give this drama a chance because you will not regret it. The ending is so satisfying (actually there is a small part about the dad that I wish it could end better, but I guess it is just the reality). Now talking about the chemistry between the two mains. HOLYYYYY COWWWWWW I AM GOING CRAZY BECAUSE THEY ARE SO FRICKEN ADORABLE. There were small fights but it is very understandable since the FL is still in college while the ML graduated for awhile already. The ML is so soft and the FL is very bubbly. And lemme tell ya'll, the osts are amazing ok...one of the OST is performed by our lovey dovey main lead couple so it adds another point to this drama. Overall, I truly adore this drama and I would forsure rewatch it again. Not surewhy some people are complaining about the story and acting (I guess everyone has their own opinions) but please please give this a try. Like I said, I never reviewed on here before and this drama just made me change my mind because I really want to let everyone know how amazing this drama is

Fall in love again

I'm one of xiao zhan's fan that waiting this drama to air after a long time just like everybody else in this MDL forums. I feel excited on first episode..my eyes glued at wetv app 10pm on 15 march 2022 to make sure that it is real. For the first time i didn't skip anything through all episodes for chinese modern romantic drama. No cheesy elements and their chemistary as a couple was top notch just like real couple. I love how this drama potrays their journey from do not know each other until become couple, married and had child. Maybe many chinese dramas have plot like that. But this drama was special. My heart "bloming like a flowers" everytime i watch them together coz it soooooooooooooo romantic ?. I cried for 4 last episode and lastly i'm satisfied with the ending. If i want to give award, i will give to both of them Xiao zhan and yang zi. Hopefully their journey as a actor/actress smooth and successfull. From this drama i fall in love again with xiao zhan just like i fall in love with him in the untamed.

The worst Drama i've watched

The first two epsiodes are an absolute torture to watch, i've never seen a character so immature, i can't stand this kind of behavior she's just unbearable.

Judging someone on rumors is a bad thing that can basically destroy someone's life.
Plus she's not doing any effort to understand why there are rumors and if these are true or not. Even worse, she's spreading the rumors with the most stupid support character of all time, her friend SanSan. but we'll speak about her later.
Moreover evrytime she faces him, she refers to these rumors and say he is a bad doctor. What kind of behavior is that seriously ?
She has the right to consult other doctors, totally.
But here is one thing, if another doctor saw the medical file of your sick father and tell you that by his experience he thinks it's worse than they thought and it's probably cancer woukd you tell that person that he is a bad doctor based on rumors you heard or would you listen to him and try to understand why he thinks it's cancer when the life of your dad is at stake ?

So, i almost dropped right after episode 2, but i decided to push a bit because of all the goods reviews and high notations, well that wasn't a good idea at all.

Nothing changed, Xiao Xiao is still acting like a kid episode after episode and that's so annoying.
SanSan is abusive and never helping she's basically giving the worst advice possible to an overly naive Xiao Xiao, resulting in situations that would have never existed and this is so painful . So thanks to her stupid friends but mostly SanSan and to her being so immature Xiao Xiao is going to have fights with Gu Wei for no reasons, and it's like that during all the drama, she has a really annoying tendency to blame Gu Wei for nothing it's actually insane.
Dr Gao forcing Gu to do things that he does not want and interfering with his private life, just trying to take control of his life.
Gu's cousin is a lazy "rich" kid cause that's his mom money, total playboy that can't even use his brain before opening his mouth.
This guy and Sansan are the worst friends you can possibly have they are doing so much damage and not helping one bit, doing dumb things all along the drama, you really don't need ennemies if you have friends like that, they put so much effort to ruin every little interesting or good thing in this drama.
Last, the violonist, he is the worst being selfish and using her dad state to create distance between ML and FL and try to get her after not giving any news for years. It's even worse after Gu Wei and Xiao Xiao get together, he is manipulating her, who apparently can't see it for some reason (it's so obvious but hey "he is like a brother to me"). So at this point he is going to do everything he can to get Xiao Xiao, saying to Gu Wei things like "Until you're married i still have a chance".

Let's talk about the parents in this drama, well this is a great example of what you shouldn't do with your kids, Xiao Xiao's dad is overly agressive with her and her mom. Gu Wei's mother is trying to control her 30 year old son's life, forcing him to marry a girl he doesn't like. And last his cousin parents, so the dad is some kind of high level jerk and mom is spoiling an already lazy kid.

So i almost forgot this thing existed and missed the opportunity to update the review earlier. I dropped it on episode 19, it's just too much for me and a complete waste of time. Run away from this !

Unexpectedly so good with a beautiful ending :)

This is my first time watching a full drama with Xiao Zhan and Yang Zi. I started both The Untamed and Go go Squid and unfortunately dropped both dramas after a few episodes. I’ve also written a review for GGS.

I absolutely loved this drama! It was very unexpected, both leads really portrayed their characters well. Xiao Zhan is such a good actor! He was able to portray a variety of emotions, very subtle changes in his facial expressions and showing how he adored and fell in love with FL. Yang Zi also portrayed her character very well- cute, bright, brave and outspoken! What annoyed me a little was her hair and how she kept adjusting it ;)

The first few episodes may be a little dry and slow. I suppose the writers needed time to introduce the characters and relationship dynamics in order to build the story from a good base. The pace started getting better and the storyline more engaging when the ML started having feelings for FL. The story development was very good for the main leads, how they first got to know one another, helped each other with problems, falling in love and then the best part- dealing with issues when being in a relationship. Really really very relatable. There were some cliches with love rival, short break up etc.. but the way the FL hunted him down and told him off was one of my favourite scenes!! :):)

Another relationship dynamic that was important in this drama is between father- daughter, and between the family. Be prepared to get annoyed and at the same time crying :( The side couples were not as engaging- it felt more like a filler for the episodes sadly. The last few episodes is a tear- jerker. Be ready with your tissues!! I was wondering how the writers would end it- and I was very very satisfied with the way they did it. (Way better ending than Business Proposal ;))

All in all, I would definitely recommend this. Would love to see a drama with Xiao Zhan and Wu Lei ;) Both very good looking and talented actors. :):):)

A True Love Story Never Ends

OOL told the love story between Gu Wei and Lin Zhixiao. At first glance ,it is nothing special. but as the story progress you are drawn into the lives of two people each with their own contrasting personalities and families. The story really makes you believe that Lin Zhixiao and Gu Wei were meant for each other and will continue to be together despite any obstacles. The initial episodes were a bit slow but the story picks up after the first 4 episodes. I actually read the novel but despite the changes in the drama, I felt it stayed quite true to the essence of the novel. That is it emphasized the themes of love and family as shown in the novel. The drama also didn't revolve too much around misunderstandings. Our lead couple quickly resolved their misunderstandings which is something I really appreciated. I also loved the addition of the little theatres. It was a really creative touch. The aspects about Mr Lin's illness was also well handled, I cried so much at the last two episodes. The drama showed how important it is to cherish your loved ones and also showed how the circle of life goes on.
Yang Zi really played Lin Zhixiao so well, her acting was on point always. And I laughed so much at the comedic scenes. Xiao Zhan playing Gu Wei portrayed Gu Wei 's inner thoughts and mannerisms so well, in fact he seemed just like the Gu Wei from the novel.

Ending the review here by saying, the oath of love is the perfect drama to watch after a tiring day.

Searching for a realistic drama? Just Go For It!

First of all, as we all know that this is a highly anticipated drama and it definitely didn't disappoint us.
It starts like any other normal drama, but the fact that all the actors pulled off their characters so well that it keeps the viewer immersed in the drama, we can feel each and every emotion they are trying to show. It is not cringy nor filled with those over- exaggerated romances everything just feels so real and relatable. No perfect characters! They all make mistakes and learn from them and most importantly teach us the real value of a family.
The only reason I feel that it could get better is that the support roles/couples could get a little more screen time with a better ending. All in all, I really liked the drama.

Cuteness and a Good Time Watch

I waited a long time to watch The Oath of Love. When it finally came out it was clear it was about Dr. Gu discovering a woman he cannot ignore, who is utterly different from him and is a bit callous at times, but one he cannot ignore. Their relationship is about a growing connection. Their fights are quite real and commonplace, I loved them because they were so rooted in a slice-of-life setting. Does he like me or the cute doctor who he works with daily? Would he even look at me? or Why won't he tell me what's going on with him? I think that if you look at this story from this perspective, it is very endearing and I loved their journey. There were moments that dragged a bit, and the second couple had serious issues which needed more time, but, The Oath of Love is full of cuteness and how an unlikely couple can come together. I enjoyed every episode.

I waited for this for 2 years and as expected this drama is really worth to wait, I don't need season 2 this is perfect drama from the start of the story up to the end. YangZi and Xiao Zhan really embrace their characters all about this drama is so good as well as the support characters such as Sansan, Gu xiao, Dr. Gao, Dr. Du I feel like every character is fit to their roles. The song which is supper like not just because YangZi and Xiao Zhan sing it but because it really suits the scene every time it plays. Thank you to the director, producers, behind the scenes people who work for this they are really amazing. I am hoping to see YangZi and Xiao Zhan to work again together in the future

Sweet, fluffy watch

I don’t think I stopped crying for the last 2 eps. OoL is a great watch.

So many sweet moments. Gu Wei is peak boyfriend material (except for that little snafu towards the latter half). Zhixiao, although young, is an outspoken and talented woman.

Her friends decision making skills were questionable at times. I did not appreciate either of their relationships towards the end either. In one case, she was too good for him, and in the other, I thought he was too good for her- don’t @ me!

Overall, sweet, fluffy and lots of waterworks

What a great drama that makes you feel good ! But ready for some tissues, too.

Unlike typical C-drama, it is a straight forward story, not many jealousy, bullying and confusion. It’s a romance between 10 yrs age gap adult and young college kid. They seems to be so different in personality, social status and etc, but they are actually made in heaven.

FL is somehow childish time to time, because she is still in college. ML is a prominent doctor yet he doesn’t have much experiences in love life and his life is pretty much controlled by his parents as good son. So it seems they miss certain personality in themselves but once he met FL who is so free and cherish personality, he discovered LOVE.. They go thru typical breakup and getting back together. It was pretty realistic that made the story more deeper. Some negative comments noted how immature both are but I disagree. Everyone has weakness. We could see that thru this couples. However they found themselves to cover each other what they luck.

And family love, especially FL’s parent and her father played so well in the drama. And their friends and co-workers did great job bringing the story more interesting. And OST, what a great song.

Wonderful drama !

Definitely Worth the Wait!

It is simply one of the best Chinese drama I've watched! The acting, story, the OST, scenes and just watching it blew me away. I cried ugly and happy tears all thru the entire series. I always have this hate relationship with Cancer, as my brother passed away battling that dreaded disease. And I love how they tackle it in this series.

I love the main couple: Dr. Gu Wei and Lin Zhi Xiao. I eill miss them. I enjoy watching the extras/bonus scenes at the end of each episode. I love Ms Li and Mr Lin, and Zhi Xiao and Mr. Lin's relationship.

I appreciated the character growth of Zhi Xiao, from being an immature daughter, having a fight with his father all the time, to being a responsible and mature person.

The OST is superb! I will never get tired listening to it.

I just don't like Zhi Xiao's BFF: Shan-shan. I know she means well, but most of the time, for me she is being over bearing and just too much.

Over all, I'm glad, I watched this series, and it's definitely worth the wait. I will definitely rewatch it again.
