Not bad but not good.

Well, I'm pretty mixed on this series and I might be one of the few people who think this way.

This is the story of Oh Hyun Jae who used to be a top criminal profiler, but one day an explosion, caused by a serial killer, ended the life of his fiancé. After the horrific incident, Oh Hyun Jae vanished and he now lives in seclusion. Meanwhile, Cha Soo Young is a police officer in the countryside. She has a special ability which allows her to remember exactly everything she sees. Due to her special ability, she is selected as a rookie detective who will partner with Oh Hyun Jae informally.

For starters, I think the show seems a bit all over the place with the story overall, like the script, the plots and sub-plots, too much estranged. Also, the killers have little light and they're pretty much cartoonish - the insane laughter, the grandiosity, the wish to be the best.
As for the "main" killer, I figured out who he was basically three or four episodes before he was revealed, honestly it wasn't hard and the twist wasn't there. But he was the most interesting character of the whole cast, because he was precise, calm and intelligent.
By the way, the killers aren't the only ones too theatrical, the character Oh Hyun Jae was too, too dramatic, emphasizing a lot on his "mystery", like over the top, really playing too much on the behavior, the intonations. Also his monologues which explained the whole situation were frankly cringe and moreover, it does not let the audience think.

Their superiors are self-centered jerks, really it's for the biggest surprise that the female lead, actress Cha Soo Young is the one who saves the drama, her character is relatable, she tries to do her best but doesn't get enough light, and I have found that her colleagues are also the nicest to watch and her relation to her father.

I really feel like overall this series was empty, very little realism, far too much fiction. I couldn't empathize with Oh Hyun Jae, even for his profiler character while I love profilers, also he made me feel like he was more a mentalist than a profiler. The story is based on this killer and the truth of the events that took place 5 years ago, but the show really lacks substance and flavor. As for the end, the epitome of cringiness.

A disappointment to be honest, because the actor who plays Oh Hyun Jae, Jang Hyuk was excellent in his role in Voice, so I expected a lot but he missed the boat. I really finished the series to finish it, but god it was slow, messy and boring, the bad acting of most of the actors really didn't help.

Afterwards, I'm sure that the series can appeal to others, it's quite pleasant to watch - overall - but personally, I haven't seen anything in particular that would make this series stand out.
So do I recommend ? I would say yes, some people will probably find this series fantastic to discover and I think it can fill the time if you are bored, but hey, it's not a masterpiece or a chef d'oeuvre, I have seen a lot better in terms of thrillers produced by South Korea.

This drama is not the best at its game. But it is still enjoyable.

It is gruesome, one of the most gruesome K Drama I've ever watched, and I've watched many, imo. Besides that, the writer tried to infuse life lessons all over it. I think, it focused too much on independent, pretty unrelevant cases. But those cases are still fun to watch. You can expect layers of villains. Plots. Some characters were well written, some are forgotten. Even though they were pretty pivotal. And the fight between police officers were annoying. At the end of the drama, they even abandon their morality lol just to cover things up.

The acting is awesome, even though sometimes CSY and HHY seemed a little bit off, but they are still amazing. Jang hyuk is good, as always. The villains is amazing.

The dark vibes were consolidated with the music. It was befitting and nice.

Conclusion: if you're only watching crime drama, definitely watch this. If you want to watch this drama without knowing the usual crime kdrama, consider watching this, but this is not the best.

" Tell me what you saw " had its flaws, but, overall, it was solid.

The drama had some interesting cases to present. Especially the first ones were pretty emotional and intense. The main case was also unexpected and had a nice mystery. The characters, as well, were explored in-depth and had strong personalities. The performances were perfect, as expected, but especially the leading lady was a delight. Finally, the atmosphere of the drama was perfect, with enough gore and action to keep things interesting, and a dark mood that feated the story well.

However, the drama had some problems with the execution and the plot. The main plot line was useless after the first episodes and there were some idiotic plot twists that didn't make sense and didn't suit the drama.

But, overall, it was enjoyable, so seven out of ten.

Slow but good

I'm a big fan of crime dramas - and this drama definitely hit the spot.

Well developed characters, solid storyline, good casting/acting and lines. I really dislike it when things just 'fall into place' in KDramas. It feels like the writers just got lazy - thankfully this isn't the case for this drama. On the flip side, because the plot is rounded and detailed, it can feel a bit slow at times. Lots of twists and turns that kept me eager to see what happened next.

Jang Hyuk with the all-rounded acting, The man is a consistent top actor and performer. Soo Young also did a great job portraying an unsure yet very capable policewoman. The supporting cast were all solid too.

One of the better dramas I've watched this year.

I expected a bit more

I love this kind of story, and i am a fan of sooyoung as an actress so i expected a lot. The fact that the main actor was an awesome one (hes really good in all the dramas i have watched of him) AND the main plot line seemed catchy got me and i loved the first... idk, 10 eps. Actually i would go with a rating of 8.5 before the two last episodes. But the story gets a little bit... idk if its actually the story or the fact that you dont see an actual character development on Oh hyun jae. The end hints at some evution on him and the plot but only if they end up doing a second season (what i doubt will happen). And the end... sooyoungs character sometimes is too much and it shows in the end (its not bad acting, since i watched all her dramas and like it. So i think the writers made her a bit... its too fake... some of her dialogues and some faces seem fake etc. It would be ok for a lighter drama maybe). But i enjoyed the fact that the killer had a strong and well made personality and they didnt try to make the audience pitty him. Anyway.... its a nice drama, but it disappointed me because it could be so much better...

Vary exciting Thriller/ Crime drama as expected from OCN. New idea and an unexpected Killer and a great build up to the idea they want to give in the end. even tho it get a little slow in the mid and i got frustrated by other crimes getting in the way from the main one but it was to be use in the end, So i was AH WE NEED IT i though it was just to full the time but it wasn't.
Everyone has an agenda and work to catch the killer for his own good not bc he is killer a lot found that frustrated but i found it the most excited and new thing about this drama, not selling the great cops fighting together to catch the bad guy , people are full of flaws like this. and all want to hide their own flaws. the one without agenda or flaws were the young fresh who want to be great cop and are used by the other that's so realistic. I know that most take it as crime and focused in catching the killer but the main point in Hyun Jae , Hwa Young and soo young characters and what we saw in those characters.
The writer made use of the Cha Soo Young (FL) power and it didn't come off or super clingy and her character was well made for me. also i loved Soo Young acting.
Janghyuk as always choose new character that no other actor can showcase like him and give amazing acting that i was totally fooled in the start. the drama is all build around him when i lose interest in couple of ep Hyun Jae was the one holding me to the drama, the character is that strong i hate it sometimes but i understand he is psycho too .
The killer i was sad he is the one TT but honestly i was amazed by his acting when he change his character completely. so it was amazing that it was him. all psychos are amazing any way lol.

over all a really good crime drama, i give it 8 bc i lost interest a little in some eps and expected some plot if not i would give it 9.

To begin with story line its really awesome and the cast have done a wonderful job. There was no flaw in their acting or the direction. While am watching each episodes I felt like I was inside the drama itself. The thrill of what's next made me eagerly watch until the end of 16 episodes. There where many twist & turns, as much as friendship & betrayal. The female lead (Soo Young) and the main villain (Dong Shik) had good understanding between them but what to say he is an emotionless person.
But, If he (Dong Shik) had started to feel something like affection towards her (Cha Soo Young) will the story be different? I could say this is from my point of view.
Well its really a good crime drama and its really worth to watch. People who are so into psycho / thriller / crime genre dramas will really like this.

Perfect. This drama reminds me of an anime called detective Q and another drama called voice. I like many detective story, so I am sure I will like this one.

this is what I like in this drama :
- I always amazed by Jang Hyuk's acting. In every drama or movie that he played, i always feel strange with his acting. especially his laugh. but after some minutes, I forgot about it and enjoy his acting very much.
- The main character is not weaker or more stupid than the main villain. I like when main character has ability same or more than villain so they can duel each other and not being played. Its better when both of them are mastermind who have plan with another plan and backup plan.
- I like the character. I dont hate any single character in this drama. especially the RIU's team member. I dont know if it because their acting or good script.
- I dont have problem with the twist. we know how korean make crime drama. the main villain is often from lawyer. forensic doctor, prosecutor, cop, or something like that. but this drama make a cool appearance of the villain.

there are too many serial killer in this drama. yeah, it is not realistic. But I don't care with it. this is how crime or detective drama works. Do you know detective conan has more than 1000 chapter and sometimes 1 chapter has more than 1 murder case? Kindaichi? Q? Tunnel? Voice? Hello Monster? they are the same. There will be so many killers in detective or crime drama. That's how it works.

Wow. I don't know what to say about this drama, especially as someone new to watching K-Drama. It was just excellent in every way imaginable. Heavy spoilers ahead, do NOT read this AT ALL if you haven't watched this hidden gem.

It was pure thriller. Something which another thriller drama (*koff* The Game: Towards Zero *koff*) lacked. It doesn't waste your time stringing you into character romance, but rather strings you with layers of character backstory, even for characters you can consider minor.

The characters are amazing themselves, on some episodes, I could even feel the synergy between Hyun Jae, Sooyoung, and Ha Young. But let's not forget to credit the actors who did well with their role, even the child actors! I was really disturbed by the main villain's backstory due to the young actor portraying the insanity in the character really well.

Their synergy was especially amazing at the last few episodes! I could feel the bond they have as police officers/investigators, the trust they have towards each other, which sparked into them risking their lives to save Hyun Jae and Ha Young in the last 2 episodes.

Wondering why I left rewatch value on one point? It has no rewatch value due to how good it is. You get so thrilled watching them solve crimes and identify perpetrators that it wouldn't be fun watching it again because you already know what's going to happen. This is the magic of good thrillers, your excitement and sense of wonder is sated to the point that trying to experience it again wouldn't feel as satisfying.

Photographic Memory

[Story]
Story from the writer has some potential because a police officer having a photographic ability is a rare story specially on korean series, I scored it 7 because the story started good as the series reached its climan the story of the photographic memory became a sidekick instead of focusing on the police officer that has photographic memory.

[Cast]
Good Casts, however not all casts have portrayed their characters well.

[Music]
No notable BGM in the series, just acceptable

[Rewatch Value]
Just once

[Overall]
Could have been better, but it is a good series about a police officer having a photographic ability.

Cheers!

this show was my very first kdrama and it was amazing. the twists and turns had me so shocked and the acting is unbelievable. i laughed, i cried, i got angry, it was the best show. the characters were all so likable in their own ways and just so badass. i loved the relationships they all had with each other. if you are looking for a show that has a super good story, with amazing twists you never see coming i would def watch this one. there is a lot of violence and gore, but it is easy to get past.
