People keep asking me why i love this drama (and the first season).
here's why: (and i'm sorry, english is not my first language so...)

- ariel lin and joe have the most amazing chemistry i've ever seen onscreen. ever. at least on a drama.

- the story is complete. you can see them together, him finally realizing he loves her, then they marrying, working, living, having fun, fighting and trying to deal with struggles. it's almost like it's really happening in front of our eyes (in real life), it's the same feeling.

- you can go from laughing to crying in just one episode and it doesn't seems wrong, beucause they have great development

- the back stories are amazing! you can see the WHOLE drama going forward, you can see AH Jin starting to forget xian qin and start to fall for christine; everything is so real.

- It's not like other dramas that some characters go missing and we never see them again in the story... no. even if there's new ones, they knew how to bring the old friends, the old cast back and all of them had their moment.

- when rewatching it i realized that there is storylines that they had been building since It Started with a kiss, and they went and used it in the end of this season, for example. amazing continuity.

- it doesn't matter that she (Xian Qin) makes me want to hide my face and die from shame sometimes, because she's so real, so sincere that there's no way you could find her crazy (not if you watch the drama and understand her story). And you can see that's why zhi shu loves her, too.

- it has a way of capturing your attention and when you see it's already the last episode and you really feel like you've lived their lives with them. you saw every single moment, even if it was so trivial as they having coffee together.

- and it's not like some dramas that they try SO HARD to make a fairytale out of the story that seems like 'oh so beautiful' but not real. no. it's real, there's no ONE MAGIC KISS in the series, because they're married, and they kiss everytime, because there's no reason to make them just kiss each other one time in the whole season. They kiss because they're a couple, they cuddle for the same reason. they fight. they cry. they dont know how to approach each other some times... and that, my friends, that's a real love history. I LOVE the magical fairytale style too (most of the K-DRAMAS are like that, one or two kisses in the whole story, just about them, the whole OH I'M SO IN LOVE story), i REALLY DO, but it's refreshing to watch this drama right here, sometimes, and remember what a REAL love history is about. (and that's why i'm rewatching it for the 3rd time hahaha)

Fun to watch without thinking too much

So, this is a fun cdrama to watch, even if i feel like the writers were not really focused on trying their best lol its funny, cliche and light to watch. But me aware that there is plot holes and things that happen in weird ways that are totally unrealistic to what would happen in real life (like reactions of the main chars about revelations and stuff). Its like when you want to watch some action or super hero movies, its not super well written and complex but if its about a trope you enjoy and is fun its enough. So i dont regret it. Would prefer it was better written? Yes. But its ok. Probably something i would not rewatch but dont regret watching in the first place. If you are looking for a light and cliche plot this my be the one.

I expected a bit more

I love this kind of story, and i am a fan of sooyoung as an actress so i expected a lot. The fact that the main actor was an awesome one (hes really good in all the dramas i have watched of him) AND the main plot line seemed catchy got me and i loved the first... idk, 10 eps. Actually i would go with a rating of 8.5 before the two last episodes. But the story gets a little bit... idk if its actually the story or the fact that you dont see an actual character development on Oh hyun jae. The end hints at some evution on him and the plot but only if they end up doing a second season (what i doubt will happen). And the end... sooyoungs character sometimes is too much and it shows in the end (its not bad acting, since i watched all her dramas and like it. So i think the writers made her a bit... its too fake... some of her dialogues and some faces seem fake etc. It would be ok for a lighter drama maybe). But i enjoyed the fact that the killer had a strong and well made personality and they didnt try to make the audience pitty him. Anyway.... its a nice drama, but it disappointed me because it could be so much better...

It was perfect for 2/3 and then the last part happened

srsly, wth? It had drama, action, romance, revenge... And then something abducted the writers and made then change the pace, the main female lead personality, and by the last 2 episodes i was certain that the one writing it was jk rowling. anyway, i was already after ep 20 and SUUURE i would give it a 10, but these weird episodes happened, and now i am giving 8 just because the first 20something episodes where fantastic. I see what they meant with the ending, but that was definitely not what WE wanted and so unfair with the main characters. we all know life is unfair, we dont have to see it happening in dramas like this. whatever, if you are ok with getting depressed and hopeless, have a nice watch. I wish i had stopped around ep20 so i could pretend it ended there lol maybe it is based on a true story and they wished to keep the end true to the real jinhe story? we have documentaries for that, guys, unnecessary 😑 lol

i usually dont do Reviews, but

This drama was such a pleasant surprise. And the first thing that makes it different from most dramas is that they choose to show all the different forms of (heterosexual only, sadly) couples, it doesnt mind if you agree with them or not. its like "they exist, and are here". for instance, there is a couple with a big age gap that doesnt make me very comfortable, but then i realized "hey, ok, it could be problematic, but the fact is that this kind of couple exists". couples who get back together, couples who break up and move on, couples who are married and the marriage is cold, couples who got divorced and theres no going back... anyway... it was such a beautiful drama about love and self care, i enjoyed it very much. hope who reads it do too.
