“Himitsu no Akko-chan” is about a young elementary school girl called Akko-chan who received a magical compact mirror that allows her to transform into anything she wishes. The movie is going to feature an original tale, with Akko-chan having to transform herself into a 22-year-old adult woman in order to protect her crush and first love, an elite salary man played by Okada Masaki. Depending on the circumstances she always chooses another occupation in order to seamlessly fit into the current situation, including a figure skater, a cabin attendant, an office lady, a policewoman, and a racing motorcyclist. The movie is based on Fujio Akatsuka's manga "Himitsu no Akko-chan" published in Ribon from July, 1962 - September 1965. Edit Translation

Reviews
The story has a faint touch of heart. It was warm, but not hot. I have no feelings towards the characters at the end of the movie.
It reminded me of the fairy tales that I watched and read. "They lived happily ever after. The End."
I do like the characters. Although your character's movement was a little too exaggerated. At one scene, surrounded by dull business attires, it reminded me of "Legally Blonde".
Although the story was a child's play, it was okay. I don't really pay attention to the background music.
It was mostly sunny, bright, and very cheery. I don't believe I would watch it again. It was a bit unrealistic for me. There was a readily prepared prince charming at the beginning of the movie. It was fair since came from a children's anime series.
The story is pretty straight forward, there are no real surprises and it is more like a fairytale for teenagers than a captivating movie plot. There are some strange and a bit implausible story twists (and we are talking magic-mirror movie here), but well, strange things happen in fairytales. It's more Coming of age than romance even though there is a Prince Charming.
The acting was a bit over the top at times for my taste, but still okay.
I didnt really pay attention to the music which means it was neither awesome nor dreadful.
All in all it was an okay movie but I will not watch it a second time.
