I would recommend these two films for filmgoers who are interested in Dark Comedy. Both of the movies one truly has to sit, observe, and analyze the movies. These films explore and tell more about violence than most Hollywood films have ever done, but you have to be able to interrupt movies while watching these types of films. The Musical scores have a way of balancing our feelings whiling viewing the films.

Several yakuza from Tokyo are sent to Okinawa to help end a gang war. The war escalates and the Tokyo drifters decide to lay low at the beach.

Both films feature a japanese gangster/contract killer that gets betrayed and has to hide on a beach. Both productions have a similar slow pace and vibe to them

Both films were directed by Takeshi Kitano; and he's also the ML in both of them. Both feature a burnt out ML who burnedened by his worries begin a downward spiral
