Yoshiyama Mihane is a 3rd-grade high school student. She is a member of the photo club at her school. The day before her summer vacation, she smells a lavender scent in the science lab and she suddenly gains the ability to leap through time. Fukamachi Shohei is Mihane’s classmate. He actually came from the year 2122 and is a researcher. Shohei lost a drug that allows him to go back to 2122. In the meantime, Shohei hypnotizes those around him and lives as a high school student. However, as time goes by, Mihane and Shohei start to have feelings for each other.
Both are romance based with the female and male lead going through series of catastrophic scenarios and different time scapes in order to find each other. Absolutely gripping complicated plots that keep you guessing but still have a well rounded conclusion. Heart wrenching and so lovable at the same time.
Each drama has a complex plot that intertwines the past and future. The time travel method varies though. Someday uses music and mind transfer between doppelgängers, while Meet Me uses a specific time and merged spaces. There’s the fun of a developing romance between leads, but also the mystery of whether actions in the past really can change/prevent events in the future. If you’re not afraid of having your heartstrings pulled, then go ahead. Also, both have a killer soundtrack.
The third collaboration between Kelly Chan and Aaron Kwok yields probably their best pairing, though not their best film by far. Luna Ng is a popular newspaper columnist who makes an enemy of DJ Cheung Yung when she attempts to block his purchase of a used vinyl record. Cheung Yung is a lover of old vinyl and uses them on his popular radio show, where he plays old tunes and sometimes gives ill-advised romantic advice. Luna wanted that record because it was a gift to her first love and the shock and dismay over seeing it in a used bin cause her to wish to possess it again. The two begin to spar, she in her column and he on his radio show.
While the premises are very different, the feel of it was similar.
You have the "life back then" aspect of it; you get to experience how life was back in 1998 in Taiwan. You also have the family and friend aspect of it; you get to see the friendships developing and turning into more, as well as the relationship with the family improving. As well as the heartfelt feelings between the leads, the patience and the love.
That being said, 1988 is purely a "slice of life" drama vs. Someday also has a time travel element, as well as a murder mystery added to it.
Both of these dramas are excellent, and highly recommended.

Emotional dramas. In both female lead travels to the past and try to prevent a tragedy from happening. In SOOD it is the death of a friend if I remember correctly, in TTEOTM it is the elimination of the realms by the hands of the devil god which she will be romantically involved with.
In both acting is amazing as well as OST , plot and chemistry.

Both dramas are about a person a boy or a girl changing and finding out why they died or for someday or one days case finding out why a girl that looks exactly like her dies and try's to change that while that happens because she wanted to know more about her BF after he dies. And in homestay he is given a body and all he needs to know is how he dies and why he died but he finds out more then just that! FUN FACT!! In homestay the boy liked a girl and she turns out to be something he didnt think she would and in someday or one day both of the boys had feelings for her but its not like who are you school 2015 when they find out the truth both the boys like the same person but its that the first one is in love with the original girl the one that is quite sad and never talks but the other one likes the second girl because she was out going and happy smiled all the time and the girl that was from the future liked the boy that looked exactly like her bf ! So one different thing in homestay it has a amazing ending and in someday or one day it had an ok ending
