Great crime drama

The Reborn is an excellent quality Chinese crime drama. The show has one main crime case as the main plot, but also side stories with smaller cases are interesting on their own. The acting is serious and minimal compared to many dramas I watch, which I enjoyed a lot. There are some great, multidimensional characters and some nice character growth.

There are some issues with the pacing, but the series also requires careful watching - not everything about the cases is spelled out loud. I personally like this style as it gives the viewer the credit of being smart enough to understand the hints, but for some it might seem like things are left hanging in the air.

The series has gorgeous cinematography. The music didn't really stay with me, and there are some audio issues, but less bad dubbing than I often find in Chinese series. The rewatch value really depends on how much you want to catch all the nuances about the side cases. The series is a bit slow and serious, almost sad, so it's not a huge thrill to rewatch. But the quality is there.

Yaaa, let them all die, all of them on both sides! Let them be "heroes" who abandon their loved ones, their wives, children, parents...AND DIE... for the sake of that war against each other! Let them abandon wives, children, and parent who suffer and are the victims of this kind of heroism. That's the only thing men can do, sacrifice EVERYTHING AND EVERYBODY, including their own lives for the sake of so-called justice. How is it justice??? Justice for who and what? Each side, the army of gangsters and the army of police is not better than the other! Both solve the problems with deaths. Even though there are millions of ways to solve the problem, DYING is what they chose and what matters for "heroes" in the men's world. Not love, nor family, no children, or those who love them, those who are left with scars till the last days of their lives. This is so-called heroism. They have nothing left as this so-called heroism because MEN NEVER ARE ABLE TO SOLVE ANY PROBLEM WITHOUT KILLING EACH OTHER or abandoning their loved ones in the name of justice!!!! HEROISM IS TO LIVE EVERYDAY LIFE!! They are all men who we NEED to live and love and show the children the meaning of love and life not hate and death!!!

what a police drama should look like

It's not the usual "romance in the police station" drama, with pretty leads and a comical team. This police station was serious and the characters of the drama were smart, professional, dark and ambiguous, to the point you never know who is friend or foe. The detective cases were good enough, the solutions, too. The main storyline made sense. The human interactions (love, job, crime, family) were normal and believable, well-written and well acted. The general acting was good. The atmosphere was correct for a dark, gritty, painful story.

Other than the usual obligation to end a drama with positive messages for society, this was a good drama from start to finish.

I know that this Reborn drama is related to the day and night drama since seeing Hanbin and his name sounds familiar, but are the directors and writers sure? that who watched reborn had watched dayandnight? while Dayandnight itself is still cliffhanger

I SO HATE IF THERE ARE DIRECTORS WHO ALWAYS LIKE TO MAKE A HALF-HALF DRAMA AND NOT SURE TO BE CONTINUED OR SUSTAINED, THE FEEL THE WATCHING JUST WASTE A TIME TO ANGRY

There are some Dialogues that explain the problem in the drama "Day and Night" but,
wouldn't it be better if you only talked about this drama than any other drama? if you are not good at combining 2 dramas into 1

Sound problem, the scene that should be displayed looks incomplete

Acting when emotional is lacking

And the problem is that most of the solutions are not fully explained even though they have been discussed

Sometimes the storyline is not in line, it is said that Lumingjia is told not to be separated from Qinchi and they must immediately go to the hospital to find the Peng Peng ,the informant
but in the next scene they separate, and Lu Ming Jia himself hasn't gone to the hospital even though he was the one who ordered Qinchi to immediately there

and honestly the problem of money is difficult to understand ,, how can they take the money, and know the code? Even though they don't even know the serial number when taking money, if the bank officer knows the password it means the bank is not safe.

1.zheng xin DNA TEST, who is his father? And what is the relationship between Zheng Xin's name and the doctor? , it has been said that a DNA test will be done a DNA test, but was not told the result, the problem not end
2. how many women have fan kai killed, and why? , the ex was murdered? Where's the body?
And what is the relationship with Zhong Fei Er? Why he has so many girls? But still with Zhong Fei er?
3. Ep 14, Wasn't it only qinchi that was hallucinating due to the influence of the drug? Did the father also talk to his uncle? Or just the hallucinations?
3. Wasn't the only sanxi bandit killed by the mysterious man is at haigang? But when qin chi scold lumingjia he said in jingang? Whereas at first they said that haigang was not their area
4. They always say details and details but they don't pay attention to the details, in episode 3 it is said that the one who told Lumingjia to take the file was Captain Lü but in episode 26 it turned out to be Qin Chi
5. honestly I don't understand what the relationship between Chenxi and Mayuanan, that makes Peng afraid of Hu Yi Biao, if there is have a relationship, then Gongyounian is not the final boss, then mr liu is the real boss,,,, maybe what they say is the boss who makes a trap, not the boss of the organization
‎6. Ep21, who does Hu Yi Biao call? Why did qin chi come? There was no scene where Qinchi received a phone call, and the time was not right, because at that time Qinchi was doing an ambush ... If he call Qin Chi, wouldn't it be easier if he went straight to the scene where they were actually going to?, why go to the Jingang Police Branch. Then tell qinchi go there looking for them? It is illogical and the scene does not seem connected

I really enjoyed the series at the beginning. I liked how each episode built off the next. There were like episodes of the week but an overall main story about cops who were ambushed when they were out to arrest the biggest gangtser in town. There was a lot of characters and a lot going on. So many red herrings and things that kept you guessing. There was a lot of cloak and dagger in this series and it initailly had me on the edge of my seat. Unfortunately, it got dragged down by too many filler episodes. They literally, could have cut 8 episodes.

The best thing about the series is the cast. Zhang Yi plays the ML Chief Qin and he is fantastic in this. I'd definitely try another show he was in. Zhang Hao Wei as Lu was goood too!. I loved Zhao Zi Qi as Feng. She was Chief Qin's ex-wife and she worked for internal affairs.

My biggest gripe though was the annoying teen girl character. She was on my last nerve most of the series. Her character was unnecessary and only served to annoy me (the audience). Lu was at a murder investigation and she is was acting like a damn idiot. She shouldn't have been there in the first place. That scene pissed me off so bad and it wasn't the only one.
