I love the story.
I love the characters.
You'll laugh.
You'll cry.
You'll be sad.
You get heartbroken.

It is an against all odds story.
You and me against the world.
Struggles. Circumstances.
Against

But in the end their paths will crossed again.

It was an old version of the story (2006, i guess.) But I love how does crystal liu looks like.. One of my favourite Chinese Historical wuxia fantasy story that I would not definitely will not forget.

Honestly, idk why the reviews are so negative.. stop complaining about the story omg. anyways, moving on here's my review:
Story: 9.5/10 Personally, I, myself, love wuxia dramas (ancient ones) and so that is probably why I like Jin Yong's stories. I thought the story was cleverly written and it's not really a Romeo and Juliet story.. I can see where you're coming from but it's more of a wuxia romance tbh.
Acting/Cast: 7.5/10 The acting was okay... I prefer the 83 version over this. I watched this for the two main leads but mainly because I'm a fan of Liu Yi Fei. Her acting is good and the guy lead was good too but the other characters were just okay. I don't really like some of the choreography because it wasn't as natural looking as the ancient dramas.
Music: nothing notable tbh.
Rewatch Value: 6.5/10 to be honest, I would only rewatch this to watch Liu Yi Fei.
Overall: 8.5/10 it's pretty decent. not bad. I like the 83 version better though.

So this is basically like a Romeo and Juliet story of China as this is apparently a very famous wuxia tale there (I didn’t know this when I first watched it. If only someone had warned me I would have avoided it since I don’t like Romeo and Juliet either due to its tragic nature). Contrast to Romeo and Juliet though, it ends on a happy note. This drama is an adaptation of one of Jin Young's famous tales (probably his most tragic one with pitch fork tragic events that I cant stand and a major plot point that is dragged on to frustrating levels).

There have been various adaptations in anime, movies and tv series but this drama has the best quality so far production wise, and follows this interestingly addictive pitch fork tragic tale closely. Personally this isnt a story/drama Id recommend to anyone (unless its someone youd like to torture >:] ) because although it an awesome martial arts story and ends on a somewhat happy note, the journey through so many tragic plots was just too depressingly unbearable for me. The show is filled exceptional actors making it even harder not to take things too personally/seriously. Perhaps if your already familiar with the story you might be able to stand it but I still wouldn’t recommend that you watch it.

Consider this a disclaimer/ warning that I only wish someone gave me saying, watch this at your own risk. This drama is comparable to the drama Chuno so if you could watch and enjoy that then you might enjoy this as my sentiments in this mirror almost exacly my sentiments in Chuno.

Honestly, the only reason I watched the drama was for the wuxia choreography. The story itself is really awful.

Not for people who want to see ''sweet and cute'' Asian series nor for Western viewers because of Strong Asian concepts and philosophy that they may not comprehend. The story is dark and depressing and sad story since the struggles of the Heroes against norm ridden society but great fight scenes!
Action and romance and Confucian teachings. The only Chinese series shown in Japan that Nihojin watched. G Not for
Strong points are its fight scenes it alone will make one want to binge-watch this, The character development is good compared to other Chinese series.,You really see them grow and develop. Best version I've ever seen Highly recommended.
