An interesting depiction of the progressions in distancing relationships
I felt very queasy and anxious watching this, mirroring the tone and mood of the movie. There is a sense of mystery coupled with foreboding that keeps you enticed the same way you can't look away at a car crash on the freeway. The story's message comes around full circle so I want to acknowledge the effort on that. I suggest watching this movie blindly with no expectations. Was this review helpful to you?

Creative production & A “Realistic” Story
Watching the trailer, I knew I was getting into the themes of cheating though what I didn’t expect was how it would be played out in the movie. It was the storytelling that actually made me rate this a relatively high score. At first, you would think you would already know the flow of the story and towards the end, you would realize you didn’t all along. Based on the other reviews, yes, it may seem confusing but personally, I do actually think it was an artistic move. It made the movie much more interesting and creative in a sense however, I personally wanted a closure to Da Eun and Jang Hyuk’s relationship.Story wise , I think it takes on a very realistic approach to relationships that not every relationship works. As the title connotes, every relationship has its sweet and sour moments. In the end, It all depends on the two people in the relationship whether they choose to be together and love each other or not.
The actors all did a great job on portraying their roles and well contributed to the story. All in all, I think it was still a good watch even if I spoiled myself by reading reactions on twitter (lol).

A Huge Skip For Me.
Okay so this movie was a waste of time, so I'll keep this review short and sweet (haha, get it?).It started off okay. You see the FL's who's a nurse eventually start a relationship with one of her patient Lee Jang Hyuk, and to be honest that part was entertaining. I had my suspicions that she was cheating on him but once Jang Ki Young appeared on screen, I was simply convinced that the character Lee Jang Hyuk simply ended up losing weight to please Da-Eun as he insisted he would.
Then you enter what I would call the second half of the movie when Jang Hyuk interns at this new company. He and the other intern Bo-Young get at each other's throats and eventually end up pining for one another. First off can we talk about how terrible of a girlfriend Da-Eun is? Obviously, it's inevitable for long-distance relationships to struggle, especially during its early stages, but it's crazy to me how little Da-Eun was willing to sacrifice for Jang Hyuk. Despite the fact that Jang Hyuk would commute back to Incheon from Seoul for her, all Da-Eun could do was to complain. Never once did she offer to alleviate some of Jang Hyuk's burdens by commuting to Seoul in order to see him.
Then, we enter Bo-Young and Jang Hyuk. Sigh. Where do I start? No chemistry whatsoever. Don't understand why they became a thing. I didn't even realize Jang Hyuk was attracted to her until he mistakenly called Da-Eun Bo-Young and also lied that he was having dinner with his team when in reality he was having dinner with Bo-Young.
Overall, I just don't understand the need for this movie? Like what's its purpose? What were the writers trying to do? Seriously. I'd like an answer. Especially with such a great cast, I was expecting so much more. Even the ending plot twist could not save this wreck.
Okay, so quick question for anyone who knows, was it implied that Da-Eun ended up getting an abortion or did she just lose the baby? I was kind of puzzled as to what happened to the baby.
Also, huge shoutout to Lee Woo Je who kind of carried this movie on his back LMAO.
Anyhow, I guess my review ended up being a little sour AMIRITE?? Ok. I'll stop now.

Unimaginable plot twist
This movie truly captures every emotion of 21st century dating and depicts the problems which can lead the relationship to crumble. One of the best thing, is that the cast is amazing and did justice to their roles. The movie portrays the sweet-and-sour taste that comes with romantic relationships especially when faced with the choice between love versus career.
The climax makes the movie stand out completely. It tells that relationships aren't always sweet, they tend to be the sweetest only in the initial phase after which it eventually starts becoming sour.
The movie teaches you a lot about how long distance relationship works, how people are scared of long term commitments, how working life could be so hectic and also how one trues to find comfort and love in these types of situations.
The plot twist is so amazing and so unpredictable that it catches you off-guard and completely changes the course of the movie. Truth be told, I was kinda disappointed with the ending twist. I was like, "what just happened". Initially I was confused, but later after analysis and deep thought, I understood the plot twist.?
The plot twist is unimaginable. That's the victory and the best part of the movie. As majority of us believes in a fairytale, happy ending stories, this drama slaps one hard right to the face, that, there's no such thing.
There's is no happy ending in real life.
The ending will not be the thing you seek for.
So, if you are mentally ready to watch it and is interested, go for it?

Shocking plot twist in the house yeah..
It was all great as they depicts a realistic problem of LDR couples. As an audience who doesn't like typical plot this was remarkable. I think no one could have ever guess the plot twist.Acting wise there was nothing to say. They did well, it was all natural. Besides, the shots were typically good for me.
The characters were portrayed agreeably that I personally hate a particular character. I saw and barely understand everyone's point of view.
As for the music there was nothing that get stuck on my mind. They did not prioritize the background music that much I believe.
All in all, it's great and fine, it just all went wrong in the coda. In which, they could have explain more rigorously.

Didn't see the plot twist coming
I enjoyed this movie even though there are a lot of negative reviews, which I guess are warranted. However, everyone has their own opinion but for me I just want an interesting plot and some great acting and I think this has both.I've seen so many A-dramas now and I think this could be the only one that I did not see the plot twist at the end coming. I am still processing it, but at this point I think it worked.
Of course I have more sympathy for the FL, the ML gets what he deserves as he is not a very nice fellow, clutching at straws to settle. But who knows, FL may turn out ok, but it is just so uncertain as seen in her final expression in the film.
Overall, I enjoyed the movie.
It is getting harder to find good A-films/series as I have seen most all of them. I am hoping they keep coming.

genuinely entertaining
despite the low ratings from a lot of people i actually enjoyed watching it ! it was a fun lighthearted movie to watch and i admit it was a waste because the casts were so good but the plot was rather disappointing (even though i enjoyed it). just thought they could've done so much more with the casts. a wasted potentiaaal.the climax was literally unimpactful i would've preferred if she slapped him or something instead of a fight in the middle of a drivethru . which wasn't even resolved by thee way. i SAW the vision the team who worked on this movie had but in a way i feel like it would be better if it was a 3ep drama since i felt like there were sm things lacking in between the chemistry of the characters & the characters themselves. i get their main focus but the little things count too.
as for the twist @ the end , tbh i expected it since they never clarified the timeline for it. it just sucks because i know they both still have unresolved feelings for each other i would've preferred if they had closure on that. also > where did the baby go < ... its funny because the lack of attention and affection and the distance adding on to their relationship was what lead to searching for attention from someone else & receding feelings for each other. also the writers never showed how in love they were !! it would've add sm more flavor and angst ! ugh
nevertheless i see myself rewatching this movie because the leads are very hot people and im just a bad movie enjoyer. if you have time to watch it then go ahead but you wouldn't rlly miss out on anything if you don't watch it ( except vry hot people working tgt )

the plot twist didn't save it
reading the synopsis, it states "It is said to be a refreshing romantic comedy about the complicated relationships between three people who are experiencing different emotions."well.... that was a lie.
starting on a bright note, the movie does try to partake in depicting modern day relationships and how cumbersome the balance between work and life is. however, the sort of comedy aspect of it was ruining the effectiveness of the story. the staff who acts as a cupid should've been funny but i found it redundant.
the cast did what they can and perfectly. the problem lies on the director and the writer. frankly, the romance between bo young and jang hyuk felt forced and unconvincing. to look at it in a different way, perhaps... it was meant to be that way. the romance between the two sparked so fast and says a lot about the ml's character. this guy got on my nerves on how he fails to take responsibility for his actions and instead gets mad because things turned inconvenient for him.... which is realistic.
both are flawed characters and i feel like da eun needed time for herself first before stepping into a new relationship. i do like the jaundice guy better than the ml tho. one thing that was concerning was how he literally looked for her number when he could've just asked someone in the hospital lol.
overall, this is not the worst movie out there. it just tried hard to be realistic but in the end its plot twist defied the movie's potential.

Very True
I like the story and how it is presented, particularly the twist at the end. The character of Lee Kyung Young is like the personified thought that we battle with everytime we're presented with temptation. The story, plot and characters are very real, not like some dramas we watch where some scenarios are far-fetched. Since everyone can identify with the characters and the role they played, that twist in the plot made it very interesting.I find the story very light and easy to watch. The support characters gave a bit of comedy -- the other patients in the same hospital room where Hyuk was confined and the boss in the large corporation was hilarious enough.
The lead actors were able to pull a more mature role compared to previous dramas they played. They portrayed it very natural.

Too sour to enjoy
I get it- hectic work schedules will ultimately put strain on anyone, even to the most extreme workaholics. However it’s how you react to that work that reflects yourself as a person. What this movie seems to depict is that it’s not a romcom like what the description suggests, but a slew of poor decision making and mentality. I really like JKY as an actor, and props to him for making his character irritating to the viewer. As everyone highlighted, I was really caught off guard by the ending. They could’ve chosen to make the movie end on the sweeter note by having the female lead repair her relationship with her boyfriend, however it just made everyone seem more pathetic. It also seemed to derail the flow of the movie, it felt so abrupt and out of place- I was left reeling. Ultimately, I would watch the movie if you enjoy watching JKY, CSB, or Krystal, but sweet and sour is an ultimate waste of the immense talent of the cast. Was this review helpful to you?
Conflicted
"Sweet & Sour" is a perfect title for the movie tbh. At moments, it's romantic but not really as the romance ends nowhere for both leads. I can feel they're both unhappy in the end, which is a shame because this should've been about healing a relationship or moving on.As much as I don't hate the twist, I wish they didn't rely on it in the end like some satisfying resolution to a conflict that's actually was NOT solved at all. There are a lot of tropes that just weren't handled well, or rather there's no justification for using them. I think the ending ruins a lot of the conflict that the movie was supposed to resolve. So overall, it's not a bad movie, just the direction didn't make sense.
This MIGHT be a waste of time as there's no take away from it. How am I supposed to feel in the end? I don't know. It just feels wrong lol. Does anyone else feel that?
