I came for Tor and in the end the story surprised me

This lakorn is my second incursion into Thai romance.

Why did I choose to watch it? Because of Tor Thanapob who showed me an interesting range of acting skills in the movie Ghost Lab.

As the episodes went on, I began to appreciate each protagonist in this drama. The actors presented acting that met the emotional needs in each scene. There is still a bit of overacting here and there, but overall the acting remains fluid. And to top it off, the screen time for each character is balanced.

The writer has created a FL who is less whiny and less dependent on the ML. Despite a few decisions that I consider stupid on Orn's part she does well and you can feel Aff Taksaorn's experience in acting.

The writing of the second female lead (Ai) is well done. I like that she gives everyone the benefit of the doubt and makes the second male lead (Pham) grow up.

In a lakorn there is always a villain and even though I guessed him from the first few episodes I find it interesting how he was revealed. For once it's a non-caricatured villain.

What I like less:

The kissing scenes are too dull, I wasn't expecting French kiss but they are supposed to love each other and it doesn't show.

I don't know what the budget of this drama is, but I can't get used to the special effects.

I like the OST when I listen to it but I can't find any harmony with the different soundtracks of the drama.

The editing is not fluid and we go from a tender moment to abrupt scenes.

I came for Tor, his acting doesn't disappoint, in the end the story surprised me in a good way and makes me want to explore Thai romances a bit more.

Ambitious story that gets dragged too long, lacks intimacy

STORY:
epic in its conception. it involves a man who tries to dins the cure for cancer and is killed when he gets it, only for his soul to get in a young man's body, trying to get his memories back along with his love who hasn't moved on from him. the couple and their now adult son try to uncover the mystery of his death

FEMALE LEAD & MAIN COUPLE
they had more chemistry when he was 23 than when they were in the same age in the past. sounds confusing i know. the female lead is strong in both timelines, in the present she's hardened and dedicated to her work as a pilot, to her son and her late husband's memory. i liked her with the young version more. they were both carrying the show, the stakes were through the roof. in the first episode they barely meet but you have the sense that their lives are about to change. epic stuff.
still, the kisses were lackluster and though i want to blame thai television, i have seen how the man can kiss and it's a waste. better physical chemistry would push the story to another level, since everything is guided by their love.

PRODUCTION
normally i don't complain about the poor quality but in this one it affected my viewing because special effects were needed to stage the afterlife and many special moments. sadly the budget was the equivalent of a sandwich and the whole thing ended up looking like a 90's video game

LENGTH
at about 2h per episode (minus the 30 minutes of pure ads), the thing gets draggy and repetitive soon. more fights, more life and death situations, more cattiness. it should be a 10-ep, 50-minute drama for it to keep us hooked and make it interesting throughout. i skipped a lot after the fifth episode

OVERALL
though it didn't deliver greatly on the older woman/ younger man romance i was looking for, it was a high stakes thrill ride and a heartwarming story

Bring your tissue box

This is one of the best Thai T.V. dramas that I have seen yet. Even though the son (Paam) got on my nerve, I couldn't believe how selfish and immature that the writer had him acting considering that he is supposed to be a 23-year-old. I felt bad for Airada, the girlfriend of (Paam) because both of her parents were toxic. Airada, did a superb job in acting she was very mature in handling her mom and other issues. But the main role ( Rarapee) and (Thing / Thichink) along with the supporting role (Pak) were my favorite of course. They did a beautiful superb job with this T.V. drama. I will defiantly rewatch this again.

Why I like this drama (Tor is the reason I came here)

Even tho I'm a bl fan I watch Thai dramas mostly on the BL side but I sometimes watch classic romance dramas too, and this is by far the best one I've seen so far because the story is very fluid because it's very detailed so kudos to the writer. The acting was spot on as well.
I love how FL is independent, less whiny and dominant and ML being romantic, charming and very cunning. Both had good chemistry with each other well not in a literal sense but you know what I mean. Each cast was very effective in the series and played their roles at best, the over suspense in the series made each episode watching worth while I enjoyed each episode to it's best.
Over all series soundtracks and ost were just fabulos I loved how they are made so romantic and soft to represent main characters emotions and feelings, soundtracks are one of the core aspects that keeps things in place in my opinion because they reflect a atrong sense of realism and excitment exploding through the body
