There is going to be nothing objective or moderate about this review. I have never been so angry at a drama in my life. The writers owe me recompense for enduring this ending.
This was one of the best dramas I've ever seen until the end of episode 12. The acting was amazing. The concept wasn't new but the execution was excellent. There was so much complexity wrapped up in the premise that I couldn't wait to see where it led. I was wondering why nobody raved about this little gem! Then episode 13 and 14 weren't great but I figured they were suffering from the episode 14 kdrama slump and would bring it home for the final two. I couldn't have been more wrong. This has the worst ending of any drama I've ever seen with the possible exception of Black. The disappointment is greater because it was originally so good.
I won't spoil it for anybody contemplating it. But, for me, I really did waste 16 hours of my life. Watching 16 hours of a bad drama is better than watching 12 hours of an amazing one, 2 hours of a moderately good one and 2 hours of the worst bullshit I've ever seen.
There are a lot of really interesting confronting moral issues in this drama that the writers simply decided to blow by off screen because they couldn't handle it. The ending will have you wanting to tear your hair out it's so bad. I've never been so angry at a drama before. Never.
This was my first Hong Sisters drama and I now realise this is their modus operandi: complex moral quandaries and narrative conflict that they then ignore and tell you got resolved offscreen. This is why I will never watch one of their shows again.
BTW, Gong Yoo was amazing. But if I was Shin, I'd sue.

do not mind negative reviews about BIG and watch it..

this drama is the reason i signed in to this site..
though i was regular visitor of this website i didn't wanted to make a account but all these negative comments and reviews forced me to signed in write a positive review about this kdrama cuz it really deserve good positive review..

Story
it was really romcom plus melodrama..(just the way i like it)
there were sweet cheesy moments funny moment and and also the moments which make make your heart hurt and burst your mind to find a solution for their love story..
but..i must say its a happy ending!!! most people say it was a bad sad ending...but it was not.you just have to pay attention to the story from the beginning..may be for the people who watched from TV could've been little tiresome..but those who do drama marathons like me...it just a perfect drama with all the emotions!
P.S- don't blame about the ending if you don't pay attention..cuz if you did you will understand the ending will not end up getting disappointed..

Acting
Gong Yoo was perfect in both roles...the 30 years old doctor and the 18 years old smart boy..he did his job perfectly as always...he is an actor who i fell in love with for his acting skills first..
i gave a try for this drama despite of all the negative comments and reviews just because i knew he is an amazing actor who wouldn't choose stupid drama..

P.S- You must watch this if you're a fan of Gong Yoo. :P !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lee Min Jung also her did her job well. she portrayed a sweet teacher and dumb girlfriend..even though i saw her in BOF i didn't notice she was this beautiful..but with this character she was so adorable girl.

Suzy was another one who got negative comments for her character..but i think she did her role very well..even though i don't like her that much she portrayed that teen character amazingly..

Shin Won Ho didn't had much screen time so i cant tell about him .

overall the entire cast did their job well

Music
It had good OST..
cuz i know when a drama doesn't have good ost you wont get those feelings on those situations.but here the songs made me feel those situations though i don't understand Korean.

Re-watch Value
i never watch any drama again...so i'm not the person to talk about that.

Overall
IT WAS A REALLY CUTE DRAMA..IT IS WORTH TO WATCH!

I had high expectations for this show, given that Gong Yoo is starring and I loved him in Coffee Prince. I was hooked for the first few episodes, laughing endlessly as I imagined this 18 year old kid wearing a 30 year old guy's body like a skintight suit. Gong Yoo did an amazing job.
But near the end I was extremely disappointed. The final two episodes lost it for me, the first being almost unnecessary as the noble idiocy just made me angry as a viewer and didn't make me feel any sympathy for KKJ at all. I won't go into why the finale was a bit of a let down, but just take it from me it's not a heart-stopper.

This serie was the second i saw and the one who drag me to watch kdrama daily o_o.
I dont think that the story was the strongest point of the serie, and the ending was just stupid ...
But i have a great time with this serie, the charecters and the funny ambience made the serie for me.
I laugh a lot with all the charecters and i enjoy them all.
Although i know why people didnt like the show, i think its something that you must see and its not very hard because as for me this serie was never boring .
I think the ator of this serie shoul have keep the funny ambience of the serie because in the end the serie stats being too sad for me and that ruin the serie for me a little, and the stupid ending didnt help at all...
I will rewach this again defenelity ^_^, but probably skip the lasts episodes.

That time the Hong sisters abused Gong yoo

Surprisingly, I didn't watch this drama because of Gong Yoo.
However, after having endured all 16 episodes, I must admit he should be the sole reason for watching it.
If you're intrigued by the synopsis or have faith in the Hong sisters, you are warned that you will soon loose both interest and faith (and of course precious time you could spend binge watching something better).
Personally, I chose this drama because I was craving a tropey rom-com and, after having enjoyed Alchemy of Souls and its perfect use of countless tropes, I felt assured in putting all my trust in the hands of such experienced storytellers.
But, clearly, the Hong sisters must have been drunk when they wrote this one.

The story starts big (haha!) with a clumsy female protagonist who is incredibly lucky in her misadventures and manages to catch the eye of a handsome and cool doctor (Gong Yoo) whom she ends up engaged to and is going to marry soon.
But something is amiss: is he cheating on her?
At the same time she has just begun working as a teacher in a private high school and gained this handsome and cute little admirer who shamelessly courts her: scandalous!
A fatal car accident will upend the lives of these people in unimaginable ways.
Amazingly, all of this is packed into episode 1!
I must admit that I was genuinely excited after watching it: we get the juicy bit, with the affair, and also the forbidden bit, with the teenager that has the hots for his teacher, and an interesting mix of daring moral quandaries to be explored. Yet, just as we delve deeper into the story, things, and characters, become suddenly shallow and generally nonsensical.
At a certain point, halfway through the series, I was done with every single character but still curious on how the writers were going to solve the horrible mess they made and just fast forwarded to the end (yes, even through Gong Yoo's scenes... what a shame!) to the final let down.

Ultimately, there is absolutely nothing I deem savable in this drama. I'll give it a 4 (because it would be otherwise shameful for my beloved Gong Yoo who gave his best anyway) and take it as a sort of unfinished (half-assed) experimentation on themes that will be later explored in more successful Hong sisters' works (namely the soul-swap concept and the pupil/teacher love relationship).

Female Empowerment Score 0/5 the lowest score ever! The female lead becomes so frustratingly annoying that it is painful to watch. Female writers, as capable as these ones, coming up with these insufferable female characters are the worst kind of misogyny.

I hesitated quite a bit before watching that drama because of most reviews and critics about the ending, but I enjoyed it.

It's clearly not the best drama, the plot becomes muddy at times, and after a while, it does become repetitive.
BUT, the actors are amazing, and they are really selling the characters and their dynamic. The chemistry between Gil Da Ran and Kang Kyung Joon was evident for me even before the body swap. Gong Yoo was absolutely convincing as a teenager trapped in a man's body. The two main characters are cute together and the interactions with the family are lots of fun.

As for the ending, I actually liked it. I like open endings and the fact that you could project whatever you wanted in it suited me quite well, but if you like clear defined endings, it will be beyond frustrating.

(okay, it probably deserve less than a nine even if I loved watching it, but considering how bad other reviews are, I'll leave it at that)

Having been warned that the ending was horrible, I've watched this drama expecting the worse. But liking the idol from Crossgene and being a Suzy fan, I just had to watch this. And, truthfully, the ending wasn't that horrible, it was simply bad. No spoilers, but I don't really know what they wanted to achieve by that ending, did they wanted us to guess the mystery guy? Well, it wasn't that big of a mystery if you could make out the guy's physique, but anyway. The whole idea was interesting and the first half was funny and entertaining. The romance was so so with the girl always being uncertain of what she wanted. Plus, the whole age gap was just ignored by the end. Anyway, other than the romance that I didn't personally like, another thing that was a bit of a let down was the constant flash backs that kept happening towards the ending. Plus, repeating the same lines over and over again was just annoying. Other than that, it was an okay drama, with some funny moments, so 4 out of 10.

DON'T LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS AND JUST WATCH IT!!!!

This is a simple love story of how a teacher and her student fell in love...

Sounds a bit frisky aye?

Well, thankfully the directors made it easy for the viewers. Throughout the entire series, we see all the romantic scenes being executed by none other than Gong Yoo, who not only is visually appealing but also his co-star Lee Min Jung, catering for the needs of both the female and male audiences.

The whole story is a slice of life mixed with the usual tropes of the early 2000s dramas and a dash of the supernatural "body-switch" concept. I read all the negative reviews and thought I had to check it out for myself just how bad the ending had to be...but was surprised that I not only found myself suddenly on the last episodes not long after I started, but also at how amazing the cast, production, soundtrack and overall storyline was told. If you're a sucker for souvenirs this drama will leave you smiling and thinking about it, every time you notice the time strike 10:10

Gong Yoo does an amazing job at portraying an 18-year-old in a 30-year-old body and Lee Min Jung's emotional scenes are so organic and genuine that it is hard to see it as an act.

I thought a 2024 review of a 2012 drama would help those who are looking for good older dramas to watch, not stop or hesitate to place this on their "Plan to Watch" list and miss out on such a diamond in the rough.

If you want an explanation of the ending scene which in my humble opinion is a 'masterpiece', then look for my comment at the bottom of the details page where I explain it for ya'll

Hope this review helped in whether you disagreed or agreed 😊

Started out fantastic. Awesome story with great progression. But unfortunately, horrible ending. They shoved as much as they could into the last episode and it showed. The story was well written and the characters were well developed. The romance was alright aswell. Music was well constructed as well and matched the mood. I however, would no rewatch. The drama hyped me up for the end and it plummeted there.

The drama is about a 18 year old guy gets stuck in an 30 years old body. The story sound interesting and this drama was made by Hong Sisters which have created many great dramas. Big is not one of their best creation.

The comedy was great but I wished we had gotten to know Youngjae and Kang Kyung Joon a bit more before the body change It had made it easier to relate to the drama and the characters. but since almost everything happening in the first episode there was no time for that. which resulted in the later half of the drama feel slow and confusing. It made me think that they didn't really plan the drama well enough. after the 12th episode there wasn't a lot more to ad onto the drama plot wise so they dragged the melodrama out until the last 20 minutes of the final episode.

I do honestly like the characters and the acting was great but the story was handled badly and a complected plot met an easy ending.

I would watch the first two episodes again but not further.
If you want to see a drama without getting the feeling of disappointment I do not recommend this drama, watch on your own risk.

Well, if this story had just ended differently maybe I would have liked it better.

The plot was awesome,(in general)and Gong Yoo just stole the show, but I must say the ending and maybe the last 3 episodes just needed help.

I really wanted to love this drama. But, I found the ending hugely disappointing. I found myself questioning why we even needed some of those episodes, especially when nothing happened that we hadn't already dealt with the last episode.

The really awesome part of this drama was the music which stayed strong when the ending failed.

I don't know what else I can say. I mean, I pretty much loved the other dramas the Hong sisters made, like You're Beautiful and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho.

But this drama did not live up to those expectations.

But, if you don't care about the ending and you just want to watch Gong Yoo act, you definitely won't want to miss this, or better yet, go onto youtube and watch all the clips they have with Gong Yoo that way you don't have to live through this drama but still get the awesome moments with Gong Yoo.
