I started on this drama mainly because of Song Joong Ki since I've been a big fan of him ever since Sungkyunkwan Scandal. And I'm mighty glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised to find that without adhering to cliched Kdrama machinations or plot developments it was able to keep the viewer entertained throughout. The acting by the entire cast is honest and mind-blowingly good especially the 3 leads. The stories of the patients, their suffering and human moments moved me to tears at times. Although I feel a few of the guest stars or patients over-acted at times but that doesn't undermine the overall seriousness of the drama. Coming to the romance part, it was delicately portrayed. The development of the relationship between the leads and Hye Young's friendship with Jae Suk give the viewers some truly memorable moments.

Okay, first of all, I mainly started this drama after being recommended by a friend. At that time my mind was seriously blown up by Song Joong Ki's acting in A Werewolf Boy, so I guess I would just give this a try.

As its name states, this drama differs from other medical dramas as it strongly focuses on that two particular fields- obstetrics and gynecology. Each episode consists of one or two cases and every case featured is different from each other.

If we talk about emotion dealing with mothers and babies, this drama excellently conveys that. Almost every single episode will not fail to make you tear up. It doesn't just open up audience's eyes to how these fields work, but also the sacrifice done by the parents and not to forget, of how annoying mothers-in-law can be; they just deteriorate the pure images of being mothers and I would be seriously upset if that really reflects on the reality.

Being such a serious drama, having some romance being slipped into is such a relieve, so I really love the love story of Joong Ki and his nurse girlfriend. They are just so innocently cute- it feels like there are suddenly bubbles, butterflies and scent of cotton candies whenever they are on the screen :3

However, the main couple is a pure failure. I like them, but not as a couple. Age gap is not a problem for me, but there is just something lacking between them that I'm not sure of what it is.

The actors aren't that familiar but they all did a good job being doctors and nurses- each of them! Not to forget how they really show how the surgeries go and the usage of 'real' organs; that just amuse me because not that many medical drama actually show that.

Music- there is a song I remember which goes like..you're my everything..~ but I don't know the title lol. and I didn't really pay attention to other side background sounds but since they didn't bother me, they must have been added nicely to fit in the situations.

It's a must watch for medical drama lovers or anyone who aspires to become a pediatric, gynecologist, etc. Or maybe you just want to take a peek into something new, this would be a good pick!

Well i got so much medical knowledge from watching this drama and the different situations all patients had in each episode where quite educating and most of them made me cry although some patients really over reacted.

To be honest from episode 1-3 i was so glued on to this drama then from 4-11 i got so bored, some patient stories where left hanging, some scenes where repeated for different surgeries and there was no real romance going on.However, from 12-16 i got glued on to it again because finally some real romance kicked in, at least now the stories where half medical half romance. I literally fell in love with Dr Lee Sang, woooow he is so good looking and so gentle and his passion for his job and kids made me go crazy, lol. I'm just a huge fan of Doctors :)

Honestly, I watched this Drama because of Go Joowon and Song Joongki. Song Joongki is my favourite Actor and i like Go Joowon, too. So I decided to begin this drama.

Story:
I like medical Dramas, but after dropping Medical Top Team I wasn't sure, if I would like this Drama. I think the storyline is nice. The Drama is set in a Hospital and the mainactors and actresses are doctors and nurses. The Drama focuses on Obstetrics and Gynecology. The dialogues are not easy to unterstand even with subtitles, but with the help of the Internet I could unterstand. I liked the relationship between Song Joongki and Go Joowon and between Song Joongki and Lee Youngeun. For Goo Joowon and Jang Seohee was my feeling different. I hoped that they wouldn't end up together till the end. I think there was no chemistry between the two of them.

Acting/Cast:
I liked Doctor Lee (GJW), Doctor Ahn (SJK), Doctor Wang (Seo Jisuk), the Head Nurse and Nurse Yeongmi very much. But I had a big problem with the female main Lead. Doctor Seo (played by Jang Seohee) was a main character I don't like. In most of the episodes I asked myself why she is so popular with the Males. But I didn't find an answer. In my opinion she overreacted in most of the situations, got angry at the residents (most of the time at Doctor Ahn) for a reason which I didn't understand. Goo Joowon anf Song Joongki played their characters very well and I think both of them are excellent Actors. For Seo Jisuk who played the longtime friend of Doctor Seo: I loved his character in this drama. He played Doctor Wang very well. The Head nurse and Nurse Yeongmi were two characters who were played very well, too.

Music:
The music was nice but not outstanding.

In conclusion I would watch it one more time because of the three Male leads and because of Yeongmi.

Broadcast in 2010 and it shows ...

This is incredibly dated and perhaps suffers as a result. Are all the drawbacks due to when it was made?
This ob/gyn dpt in a branch of a Seoul hospital manages to attract all the most rare and difficult conditions you have never heard about, and even though they are only found in perhaps one of thousands of births or pregnancies, they are always recognised/diagnosed with no delays. Medical staff have ALL. DAY. LONG to lurk about gossiping about each other and discussing confidential patient information in the full hearing of random strangers which really irritated me. OK it's a drama, lets just play it just like kids in the playground. A bit lazy.
Either the writing or the direction made the acting sadly wooden or what I call "broad" - almost like in a not very funny farce. These actors are capable of much better than this - and Song Joon Ki in particular was clearly following instructions to behave like an immature, naive and sulky young man - as was his love interest lady. The two romance threads were absolutely a waste of time - zero chemistry and incredibly immature refusal to communicate at ALL!
There were some ugly attitudes on display too which I sometimes found hard to stomach. I continued to watch to see how they would be "resolved" and it was mostly worth that. There were also some instances of subtle and courageous handling of some difficult issues, including teenage pregnancy, abortion, attitudes to adoption, organ donation, sex education, HIV/AIDS, and child abandonment.
Although at times I wanted to throw this drama against the wall, I did watch it to the end, probably for the cast of characters, who were mostly engaging, supportive and benign. Would I re-watch - not if you held a gun to my right eyeball!

I'm a really picky watcher and the fact that I watched this a whole 8 years after it was released makes my review a little skewed. The love line was definitely more realistic and less cliche than the usual romance you'll find in most dramas, with both the male leads vying for the lead despite knowing that she was already pregnant with the child of another man. (albeit strange). The medical scenarios were pretty interesting to watch and was the only reason why I finished this drama. (Loads of sex ed here and there + eye candy becos SJK)
