This film attempts to portray the Korean people’s search for their past. Director Bae uses the character of "H " to represent the Korean nation. “H” arrives in a place called “Haechun” where the past and the present coexist. Wandering through this world are various characters or spirits who represent the trials and tribulations of Korea’s tortured past. In his search, he finds that Hell and Paradise live side by side. This pilgrimage serves as a metaphor for their history. The rememberance of the past is the certificate of one’s existence. Edit Translation
