First Love Forever Until Eternity
●ML is a topper student but playboy whereas FL is a shy but cheerful girl. FL is named Subaki which is the same as the ML surname, and this is how their first conversation happened at the first day of high school. The story is heartwarming with two of them falling in love eventually trying to figure out the meaning of true love. The story had the elements of a cliche plot like ML action are affection deprived which FL sees. ML encourages her to find her self-esteem and dream.●Every scene is written beautifully and gives a warm feeling. It lives up to its Title LOVE FOR BEGINNER, as this movie takes on a journey of two inexperienced people falling in love where they both come to realize what true love is.
●This movie is not about an ugly duckling turning into a beautiful swan but it's a movie about a girl with insecurities who wants to kiss a guy whom she wants to be with forever.
●Acting by everyone is amazing. Emi Takei (Subaki Hibino) is very adorable throughout. She just blended in the character with her charming face and strong-willed character. She separates self-respect and love which is admirable.
Tori Matsuzaka (Kyota Subaki) actually looked a bit older for a high schoolers but then I adjusted. He had that ruthless expression in the beginning but turns pleasant and goodish. He had portrayed the character very well
●Music is pleasant and songs amplify the mood of the scenes. It is soothing to the ears and visually appealing.
●This movie can be rewatched for it has an adorable story with excellent performance.
●Its recommended to those who love fluffy romance and believe in first love becoming forever.

the story is not boring
I’m really into retro aesthetics, especially the Japanese ones! this movie shows the simplicity and naturally and focus on the characters rather than fancy scenarios and super chic outfits and places! I like the story and it’s not boring, its the kind of drama that makes you remember of someone special, it’s my second time watching so it was very nice! I recommend this movie to people who are into Japanese style movies I can feel that everything about the drama is natural and it’s just the closest to reality back then in japan! Was this review helpful to you?
Great Story to Watch.
Cute story and very well directed. , The actors performance was very good. At first I thought Tori Matsuzaka who is 24 was too old to play the part of a high school student. He convince me in his performance that he was well match with the FL and there was great chemistry between them. I really enjoyed this movie. The story was well paced, with no extreme highs drama or ex-girlfriends with an obsession. Just a beautiful realization of self-worth for the FL. The ML finally getting the love he's been looking for. Great story to watch. Was this review helpful to you?

Predictable but not in a bad way. Simple and sweet romance
8.5/10 is my rating. This is a 2012 Japanese romance movie that runs 121 minutes.First I will provide a unique synopsis then review.
Synopsis
Tsubaki Hibino (Emi Takei), is a socially awkward loner. She dresses in very drab, old style clothing, and wears her hairs in braids which is not very fashionable. In complete contrast, Kyota Tsubaki (Tori Matsuzaka) is one of the most sought out, attractive, guys at the high school. Tsubaki is completely surprised when Kyota begins paying attention to her, teasing her incessantly at first but then pursuing her romantically. The more the two interact the more what started as a joke on Kyota’s part starts to become real. Kyota draws Tsubaki out of her shell and Tsubaki makes Kyota look at his life and re-evaluate the shallow relationships he had been pursuing. Can two such dramatically different people make it work in the long term?
Review
This is a very sweet, well-paced coming of age romance. If you are okay with it being a bit aged, it is not a bad offering in the romance genre. The characters are well developed and you can see the progression of their relationship and feelings for each other. It is predictable but not in a bad way. Super popular boy meets not so popular girl and they fall for each other.
I t ends happy and there aren’t any unresolved or outstanding plot points or sub plots. I would recommend it for anyone that is a romance fan as a quick easy watch. I might watch it again if it was on but wouldn’t seek it out to rewatch.

Fro the hair styles and the clothes it is not hard to tell this movie is over a decade old. So, when they criticize main girl for being old fashioned it is like old fashioned criticizing old fashioned from our modern perspective.
The music was not my favorite. Pretty screachy but not so disruptive it made it unwatchable.
There was no solid second couple. There was the sister and her romance with the lead guys’ best friend but given she said he wasn’t really her type, and that she was originally interested in main guy, it wasn’t much of a romance. The best romances usually have more than one couple that forms and this really only had the main couple.
It was a bit odd that the description for the movie said she was really good at doing other’s hair but not her own so I thought that would be a central part of her character throughout the story. But it really wasn’t. It showed her doing her sister’s hair in the beginning, then a few of her classmates’ hair a bit later but that was really it. Then, she goes to work at the hair salon and then it becomes a central thing for her. But that didn’t happen until close to the end. That is why I think a better description of how she was before is that she was focused on studying.

This movie is good enough for me. Good, but not spectacular. The story develop firmly and sweetly, but the conflict of Tsubaki and Kyota quite light for me in this movie (well, this is teen life after all, what did I expected from it?), but I don't know for the manga. My most waiting in this movie is appearance of Yamaken. LOL.
The casts acting are good, they played so natural and have a good chemistry.

Cute, but nothing special
The male lead was a complete jerk, and I didn't like him talking about sex all the time. It made him seem like too much of a scumbag.Female lead was written in such a way that she wasn't a doormat, which was refreshing.
The timing of the story was uneven. Not enough for us to see why they liked each other and then the obligatory breakup. I did like her standing up for herself.
I was disappointed in the ending. I felt that she gave up something that was important to her, to be with him. She says at the end that they are high school sophomores?!?! Too much going on for them to be that young. His confession was sweet, and long overdue.

I'm just against movie's that change their minds halfway through on what kind of story they want to tell.
(Music is 1 because I don't remember what the music was like.)
