Zenkichi, a fifth grader, and Sanpei, a first grader, enjoy a lively summer vacation amidst the natural surroundings of the countryside. However, one day, their father is taken away by the police under suspicion of document forgery. To support the family financially, their mother must work, and the young Sanpei is left in the care of their uncle. Thus, the brothers begin to experience days of separation, each facing their own challenges...
