Factory textile worker Li Li is diagnosed with leukemia. After the initial shock of it wears off, Li Li decides to accept her fate and enjoy whatever time she has left. She leaves her husband behind and takes a trip to Beijing. In Beijing, Li Li meets former co-worker and lover, Zhao, who was transferred to Beijing ten years ago. Because of missed messages, the couple never realized the other person's intentions, and both moved on to other relationships.
